Four problems related to headlights have been reported for the 2007 Jeep Compass. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The tipm has a known defect. It has cause the left headlight, taillight, and blinker to malfunction as well as stall while traveling at high speeds. I was told by the Jeep dealership that I would need to replace this at my own cost even though it is a highly known issue with their vehicles many of which have already been recalled.
When filled up with fuel, car stalls out and cuts off. I have replaced all of the bearings and car still makes a roaring noise with the axle. Upper control arms are completely damaged. Battery light continues to come on and headlight was replaced but does not stay on. Light stays on indicating vacuum hose issue. 4 wheel drive light stays on.
Initially, the low beam headlight on the right stop working. Used high beam for awhile. Tried having bulb replaced. Worked for a short time. No power getting to head lamp.
There were no events leading up to failure. The failure was of the totally integrated power module (tipm). As a result power was lost the drivers side headlight. Car was taken to Jeep dealership but they refused to replace the defective part.
