general problems of the 2007 Jeep Compass

When I push the belt into the receiver it clicks and holds the tongue of the metal catch but when you tug on it it pulls apart easily. We do not know how long this has been going on. It is the passenger side that we are having this problem with.

My car was involved in a auto accident when I was making a right turn and was hit by another car side impact, airbags deployed. The passenger side seat belt anchor came completely detached and seat belt no longer restrained the passenger, consequently sustaining multiple injuries.

Since I bought the Jeep Compass 2007 standard, the brake ground and I felt in my feet something wrong with the pedal (brake) and the driver seat belt, several times spoke with the dealer about this, they checked the car and all the time told me the brakes is ok, I send a letter to Jeep company to explain what was happened and nothing they did. Two days ago I was cleaned the car and found down the brake pedal a leak, I went to the dealer and they said: the brakes booster is broken, and I have to paid for that. Thanks to god I didn't have any accident,(fortunate) but I never felt me safety. The Jeep Compass brakes 2007 came bad.

Drivers seat belt clicks but it doesn't engage. This has been going on since summer 09. I have to make sure its locked by pulling on it. Numerous times my seat-belt has come off while I was driving. This needs to be investigated. There are several complaints on here its obviously a serious issue. The dealer checked it and said it was fine after I demanded they replace it under warranty. No luck.

Driver side seatbelt doesn't ingage every time. I have to push it in and pull on it over and over again to make sure its latched. This has been going on two month or so.

I have a 2007 Jeep Compass. And for the past year I have had several issues with the vehicle stalling when I am decelerating or stalling when at a complete stop. Some times the vehicle jerks so bad that my seat belt locks up. I took it to the dealership where I bought it and they said there was nothing wrong with it but that the tech's are unfamiliar with the new transmission in this vehicle. I also have problems with the driver side seatbelt it clicks when I put it on but then all of a sudden it will come right off. I had a screw stuck in my front tire today and could not get the front tire off when we finally got it off we figured out why it would not come off there is rust. I am very unhappy with the problems and scared that the vehicle will stall when I am on a major highway.

The drivers seat belt keeps unlatching by itself. Problem has been presented to the dealership. They have found no fault. Keeps getting worse will be taking it to another dealer tomorrow, this happens every other time I buckle my seat belt in.

Our Jeep 2007 Compass has had an issue with the drivers seat belt remaining latched. Most times it will unlatch itself within seconds of the click sound. And other times, it does unlatch while we are driving. We did take it to the dealership the same year we bought it, and they told us there was nothing wrong with the seatbelt. We complained to the dealership again the following year, and again, they said there was nothing wrong. It does not happen all the time, but, is still a safety concern for us because, if we were to get into an accident, that seatbelt may unlatch upon impact.
