Two problems related to car stall have been reported for the 2009 Jeep Compass. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Tl- the contact owns a 2009 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 70 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning while in traffic. The vehicle was able to coast to the side of the road. The contact attempted to restart the engine but it failed to start. The contact also stated that the failure recurred three times. The vehicle was towed to the contact residence and was later taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the failure code pcm cu10001 was not receiving connection. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in recall and did not offer further assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000. Aw.
Electronic throttle control has severe problem, almost stalling out at highway speed. Iam scared of a 'stall-out" while in traffic that could result in severe injury or death. First severe occurrance was on may 15th,2015. And has been occurring frequently eversince.
