One problem related to owners/service manual has been reported for the 2010 Jeep Compass. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
After driving 180 miles, my transmission temperature controller light came on, was going between 75-80mph, when the light came on and I lost acceleration power to the vehicle. I proceeded to exit to a near by gas station, and read in the manual the smallest paragraph on what to do. After putting the vehicle in neutral, turning off the a/c, radio, and headlights, I let the car sit and cool off. Within 4 mins the light went off. I filled with gas since I was running low. From that point the vehicle stalled and bucked when leaving the station and died within 500 ft from the pump. After restarting the vehicle it jump and bucked one more time, then drove for 25 miles to my destination with no other problems. Please provide feedback on to why the transmission temp light would come on while driving, and provide a solution. I have had this car for 3 years now, only having issues with stalling and vehicle dying after filling up at the gas station. This has been happening for about 8 months now after each fill up.
