The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Compass. While driving approximately 30 mph, the contact stated that the driver side head rest separated. The head rest struck the contact's neck and head, causing the contact to suffer a dislocated neck. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the head rest plastic base separated due to defective plastic. The head rest was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 74,519.
