Four problems related to horn assembly have been reported for the 2011 Jeep Compass. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Horn dose not work, but believe it goes deeper than just horn issue. I have seen a trend with these vehicles thru numerous sources such as internet forums ect. Being that the horn can be considered a safety feature. I think the root of the problem is a computer, electrical or a fuse box issue. Took vehicle to Jeep dealer yesterday to get fixed, called later that day to pick up vehicle said it was fixed, got home horn did not work.
The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Compass. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v668000 (air bags, seat belts); however, the part for the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated the horn, which was located in the same area as the air bag, failed. The approximate failure mileage was 98,000. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

The technician diagnosed that the steering wheel Compass modular was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired.
