One problem related to battery dead has been reported for the 2013 Jeep Compass. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Around 80,000 miles my car stopped accelerating and appeared to stay in 1st gear (I drive an automatic). Luckily, I was driving on a residential street. Then the check engine light, the traction light, and a red lightning bolt light turn on. When I took the car to the dealership they diagnosed the car needs a new throttle body, wiring, and a new battery. The battery ended up failing shortly after I brought it into the shop.
