Tl the contact owns a 2014 Jeep Compass. While driving over 65 mph, the vehicle started to overheat and the contact heard a whistling noise coming from the engine compartment. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road, powered off the engine, waited 15 minutes, and was able to resume driving. The vehicle was taken to Jeep bitburg autohaus (wankelstrasse # 1 bitburg, germany) where it was diagnosed, but a failure code could not be located. The vehicle was not repaired and the failure recurred. The contact called jack key Chrysler Dodge ram at (575) 434-3916 (1501 us 70 alamogordo, nm 88310) and was informed to bring the vehicle in for an unknown air bag recall repair, not for the engine failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired for the engine failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 77,000.
