The Jeep will stall/stop running at various points while in motion, when stopping, when starting. There is no rhyme or reason as when this might occur. I can have the ac running or not, the heater running or not. There is no mechanical process that shows me this will happen. It is completely random. I understand there was a replaced part as part of the Chrysler s89 recall in April of 2017, which is out of warranty according to Chrysler. The problem is still persisting and is a safety issue for me considering it stalls randomly and while in motion. I purchased this vehicle from carmax in June 2021 with no notice of the former recall and issue.
The car has stalled and shut off several times while driving almost causing an accident, while driving the car just slows down and will not accelerate and has left me stranded several times.

The car has been to multiple Jeep dealerships and it keep stalling and shutting down but no problems found. It has shut down in traffic! this has happened on multiple days. We have checked recalls and none apply to the Jeep. I have two small a kids and this is absolutely ridiculous.
When the vechile is stopped at a red light or stop sign the motor will just stall we will have to put it in park and then start it again and it will be fine it doesn't happen all the time but I have had it a year and it's happened 4 times and we just had the throttle body replaced and it's still doing it.
Our vehicle acts as if it has an electrical problem, radio no longer works but clock does, engine crack shaft makes it hard for vehicle to start. Car was checked for batter, alternator and starter and check out all good. It struggles to start just started a few weeks ago. It takes alot to build speed sometimes and stalls sometimes acting as if it wants to cut off.
Car throwing catalytic converter code. Was in shop 3 times this year with engine issues. Stalling out on me in the middle of nowhere. Misfiring on multiple cylinders. Driving up hills overheats losses power only goes 40 mpr up hills. Cuts out randomly.
Stalled and end board . .
While getting onto a highway, my rpms dropped and I temporarily lost power steering and started slowing down, then it "caught" and I was able to drive it straight to a car place to get the free diagnostics. Everything came back normal so I left. Later in the day as I was pulling out of my neighborhood it stalled again and completely shut off this time. When trying to turn it on again it either would but then would immediately stall again or it would just never start. While trying to turn it on, all the dash lights light up including check engine, which has not been on until the car stalled the second time.
Vehicle will without warning stall in the middle of driving, in city traffic, on country roads, starting up a hill as well as driving on flat straight road. I've been driving 55mph, 45 mph 25 mph and it will stall, the traction control light will come on. Sometimes the car will not restart for 10+ minutes after stalling. Each time I was driving in traffic, and had children in the vehicle with people behind me. Engine just cuts all power, power steering is lost. Also have noticed a huge drop in fuel efficiency, used about 1/4 of a tank in 30 miles, acceleration and vehicle not shifting normally. This is the 6th time in two weeks it has stalled, and 2nd time to take it into the dealership with this issue. I've only had about 6 months, it was cpo and have driven it about 10,000 miles.

This has been happening for a few months going back and forth to dealer unsuccessfully. Need to know what to do before serious accident occurs.

My 2016 Jeep Compass has stalled out twice within approximately a 7-week period. Once in a parking lot (2/8/2017) and today (3/29/2017) a stall-out occurred in traffic. Today, I was stopped on the highway to make a left-hand turn. Traffic was backed-up, so when it began to move, I moved my foot from the brake to the gas pedal to make the turn, and the Jeep stalled. I put the Jeep in neutral, and it immediately started. However, this was in heavy traffic. Between the stall-outs, the vehicle will "jerk" periodically, especially after slowing down and then having to accelerate. These hard "jerks" have become more frequent and are occurring on a daily basis. Both issues appear to occur when speed is lower and/or have to decelerate or accelerate because of traffic. Also, if the vehicle has sat overnight or an extended period of time. No lights appear on the dashboard during these "jerks" or stall-outs. Today will make the 4th time within the seven-week period I will have the vehicle back at the dealership's service department. I bought the vehicle new and have had it less than one year. It has approximately 11,500 miles on it.
The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Compass. While driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The instrument panel failed to illuminate. The failure recurred three times. The VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v907000 (engine and engine cooling). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,600.
My 2016 Jeep Compass began stalling while idling at stop lights as well as stalling while driving last week. I've googled and I see that several Jeep owners are having this issue as well. I've not found a recall for my specific VIN, however, there was one issued for Dodge and Jeeps manufactured from may, 8, 2016 - July 12, 2016. Crankshaft and camshaft sensor wire harness not manufactured correctly, this is mainly for 2. 0 l and 2. 4 l engines. Recall # s89/NHTSA hov-907. This is outrageuous! auto shops can't seem to diagnose this issue properly, but somehow the NHTSA did! my car is in the shop as I write this, I"ve missed two days of work and I am very upset that this vehicle has been sold, and so-called inspected prior to being sold. This recall was issued back in January of 2017, the statement was dated February 2017. I bought my Jeep in January of 2018, I am the second owner, and now, I f eel as though Chrysler is covering this up by not issuing a total recall on all vins this should have been sent out to all dealers, especially pre-owned dealers.
