One problem related to engine clicking and tapping noises has been reported for the 2017 Jeep Compass. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
This has happened on multiple occurrences. The vehicle is off for max of 3 hour period. Upon starting vehicle to drive, it runs idle and engine will not turn over. The computer system runs through a number of messages stating various settings are not working. Check engine light is on. Driver's side can't control passenger side functions. Clicking sounds heard from underneath vehicle. Fog lights remain on and blind spot lights on side mirrors remain on. Vehicle will not turn off.
