One problem related to other fuel system hoses lines/piping, and fittings has been reported for the 2017 Jeep Compass. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Nozzle at fuel pump was stuck inside the gas cap and tank. Both fuel station staff & I attempted to remove the nozzle from the gas tank but it would not come out. We had to use a piece of metal to pry out the nozzle. There is a metal notch on the gas nozzle that once inserted becomes lodged on the inner lip of the gas cap and you cannot remove it. This is a serious defect in the gas tank design and could cause safety issue especially if the gas nozzle continues to pump gas and the tank is full.
