Abs light came on, took to mechanic, was advised he needed to order part, picked up vehicle while waiting for part to come in. While driving to work was using cruise control and put on my brakes and had no brakes, I ended up rear ending into another vehicle. Causing extensive damage to my car.

I been having a problem as I noticed it’s been seen multiple times with a Jeep Compass well mine is a 2021 Jeep Compass trail hawk. The car will shut off and say high coolant temp when that’s not the problem. The car is not hot and there is no problem with it just lose power and have no control over the car. It shuts off when I’m driving on the highway has left me stranded multiple times. Almost got hit turning on to the highway and it died as I was turning with a car head on. This is so unsafe. The car has been in the shop multiple times they replace stuff say it’s fixed it’s not and happens the minute I drive off. I been stuck in the middle of the lane with oncoming traffic’s and almost been hit. The dealership seams to not know what’s wrong with it and it’s so unsafe to be driving around in. Along with the many other people who have had the same problem. This is dangerous and keep should not be selling unsafe cars.

The vehicle flashes that it is overheating and then shuts off, no matter what speed the vehicle is at. You then have to pull over and restart the vehicle. It is a very dangerous situation and I’ve seen hundreds, if not thousands, of similar stories online with the 2018-2022 Jeep Compasses. This issue needs to be resolved and Jeep needs to recall these vehicles before someone is seriously hurt.
I purchased a brand new 2022 Jeep Compass and used the adaptive cruise control while driving to an appointment, immediately after the purchase. 15 miles later, one-by-one the car's system warnings started lighting up and beeping. I came to a stop light so thought to restart the car while waiting for the light to turn green. I shifted the car to park and tried to turn off the car but it wouldn't shut off. So I tried to put it back into drive but the shift wouldn't move. I called Chrysler roadside service and fire and rescue showed up and had to manually force the car into neutral to push my car to the side of the road. Meanwhile the battery also died because though I couldn't move the car, the air and radio remained working. In total I waited 3 hours for the tow truck in mclean, va, an urban city.

I am currently in a loaner car from Dodge dealership, 2022 Jeep Compass limited 4x4. When we got it pretty much as soon as we were in it and down the road every dashboard warning light popped on and it goes through the process of telling you everything from lane assist to park assist. Nothing works as far as cruise control blind spot warning nothing I all says needs to he serviced. When this happens if they vehicle is cruise control you lose cruise control until the vehicle decides you can have it back. We’ve had the loaner for 2 weeks and it happens every single day at least twice a day. Around the same times every day.
Error message on the dash about the coolant being very hot the vechicle stops and shuts off while being on the road. I was on the high way and the vehicle just decided to shut off. Very dangerous.
Lane assist and front collision camera ceased functioning. . . Yes available for inspection lane assist and traffic collision camera went out while driving in the rain on the freeway. Traffic came to a quick stop and was able to stop without assistance by sliding off to shoulder, was able to miss the other cars but it sure was close. Took to dealer (leased Dec. 2021) with 3,100 miles on it. Told I would have to leave for 72 hours while they figured out what the issue is. (no rental provided). Have not taken in yet. Drives okay without the lane assist and front camera but you cannot rely on these components. Especially when needed. No one has inspected yet. Warning lights are still on dashboard. The warning message came on as the components quit working.
My husband purchased me this car about three months ago and it has been nothing but hell for me. My car won’t stop swallowing oil. I had an oil change a month ago and I’ve already lost a little over half of the oil, and there’s no obvious oil leaks under the car. My tranny also won’t shift past a 45 minute drive. It shifts rough for the first half hour but after that it progressively gets worse by the minute. After 45 minutes it won’t go faster than 50ish mph and it makes a very loud humming sound when it tries to shift. It has a harder time driving through cities than on the highway, my car just won’t go. I’m trying to gather the money to get it fixed but times have been hard so I haven’t even been able to drive the car. It only has 39k miles on it and I spent over 30k for it so it’s super agitating. I’ve talked to other Jeep owners and they’ve all complained about similar issues with the transmission.

The crossmember- engine cradle that hold the engine in place. I heard a noise and took it to my mechanic he took pictures of the crossmember showing that it is rusted through showing holes. Took it in to a Jeep dealer to have it diganosed, they confirmed that it is unsafe to drive as the engine can actually fall out. I contacted Chrysler and they said that there was an extension of the warranty on this part that expired a month ago. They sent me to mopar parts to see if they would pay for the repair. After days they rejected the claim. Now this car is 10 years old however it only has 48000 miles which is less than 5000 miles a year. I bought the car bran new. So it all rusted through on a car with only the 48000 miles. At best this should have been a recall. But at least customers owning this car should have been notified about this warranty extension so they could have had it checked and reparied before some one is killed driving a car that the engine could fall out on the road. Now mopar is refusing to cover the cost of fixing it because the warranty extension expired a month and a half ago . Even though they know there is a problem with it. I feel that I need some help in making mopar or Chrysler pay to have this work completed. I also have had to replace the 4 wheel drive as that went bad along with replacing the rear axles as they also rusted.

1) 10/29/2020 I was driving on the highway with the cruse control on when the car made a loud thump, jumped out cruse control, shut off, check engine light came on. After sitting for a bit, car started but would not go over 25 mpr back to town. At the signal light, when stopped, the car started to go in reverse. Was able to stop it again, and got it to dealership. They said it needed a computer update. 2) 12/06/2020 1 month later, driving on the highway home from work at night, car did it again, check engine light came on. I was able to get the car to the side of the road. After sitting, it started, but would not run over 25 mpr. And this time at signal light stopped, the car surged forward and almost hit the car in front. The car is going back to the dealership ASAP. This car is very dangerous.
My 2021 Jeep Compass transmission and front camera has been causing me problems. My car for months has been jumping out of gear and jerking forward. The jerk get to a point where it feels as if someone just hit me from behind. These jerks almost caused me to get into about 3 accidents where I almost hit the person in front of me. In addition one time when I was at a red light and switched from brakes to gas as I was in drive my car did not go forward but reversed instead. My car has been in the shop for over 150 days with 7 different service orders. They tried to fix the jerking but was unsuccessful since it would go away for a short period and then get worse each day. Now for the front camera when I first bought the car about brand new I turned on the lane departure warning and a light popped on saying that it was not working. They replaced the camera and now I had a forward crash collision light and crusie control light turn on which has to do with the front camera and was just switched out again. My car is still in the shop after being there for over 2 months and the jerking still needs to looked at and addressed as well as the car driving in reverse.
