Multiple Axle Suspension problems of the 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Two problems related to multiple axle suspension have been reported for the 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Multiple Axle Suspension problem

Failure Date: 07/28/1999

Rear end went out and vehicle was inoperable. Contacted dealer and wheel bearings were replaced. Rear end has been replaced twice already. Keyless remote failed. Fuel gauge failed. Buzzing noise when unlocking the doors. Transfer case leaking. Rear end makes noise, dealer rebuilt differential. Left front wheel makes noise.

2 Multiple Axle Suspension problem

Refer to mfg. Bulletin # 03-03-98, subject: rear axle carrier bearing growl, replacement parts r4886321( remanufactured rear axle assembly).
