Power Train Driveline problems of the 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Two problems related to power train driveline have been reported for the 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Power Train Driveline problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2000

Defective design of the front and rear differential which makes a "whining noise" and cause the metal to be shaved off. Dealer had to replace both differential. Front and rear differentials were replaced. The fuel leak was caused by fuel pump module failure.

2 Power Train Driveline problem

Differential unit failed twice.
