Two problems related to brake grinding noise have been reported for the 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While depressing on the brakes consumer heard a grinding noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. This caused the vehicle to have extended stopping distance. The consumer has the parts that were replaced.
Noticed a grinding noise at 11k miles, brought Jeep in for 12k mile service. I was informed that I needed new brakes. I paid for the new breake and the grinding noise still is there. I was told that this is normal for Jeep? 12000 miles is too short of a time to change the breaks on a car that was expressway driven only on the weekends. . .
