18 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2011

Car stalls without warning, usually within 40 minutes of starting car. Happens at any speed, from 70 on the highway to 5 mph on our road. No warning. Internet search indicated many Jeep owners with same safety issue and no permanent fixes.

19 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/25/2011

The Jeep stalls for no reason. Just stops running. It was repaired three times before I acquired it. I have done the same repairs twice to no avail. I was told there was a recall and was also told I'd be notified but have not to date. I just replaced the computer brain and the coil yet again.

20 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/11/2000

Gas gauge malfunctions continuously. Presumably fuel sending unit failed after about 2 years. Gauge continuously bounces from "full" to "empty" with the warning beeper sounding each time it reaches the empty mark. Gauge is completely unreliable and is of no value in determining how much gas actually remains.

21 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/27/1999

Fuel sending unit failed. As a result: the check engine light will not go off, therefore I can not pass emissions test in my state. I am also constantly running out of gas. The sending unit is necessary for correct gauge readings. This has happened at the worst time for me as a single mother suffering from job losses in the state of goergia. The estimates to repair the fuel system has averaged 700. 00 dollars I am also filing a complaint about the transmission that slips too. The transmission will not go into 2nd or 3rd gear with out a lot of extra effort. There are times I have to take back roads and access roads just because I was nearly hit several times trying to access the express way. SUV's are horrendous in gas mileage but a SUV with a slipping transmission is burning even more gas! I am still trying to pay for the car and can not afford the repairs. I wish I would have bought an import. I have met quite a few Jeep owners who have experienced the same problems.

22 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Engine check light stays illuminated while driving. Dealer has reset vehicle twice and light has illuminated again. Consumer adds that failure codes were transmission 3rd gear and fuel sending unit.
