Two problems related to other fuel system tank mounting have been reported for the 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
This is a complaint regarding Chrysler recall campaign n45 in connection with a safety issue related to the fuel tank in Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. Chrysler has communicated with me twice since July 2013 indicating that my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee is subject to a safety recall. The most recent communication is an official safety recall notice. The Chrysler dealer has no information about this recall and therefore will not schedule any remedial action to comply with the recall notice. The Chrysler group recall assistance center places the blame on NHTSA holding up approval on a problem mitigation plan. No date for resolution could be provided. My complaint is that Chrysler has taken an inordinate and unreasonable amount of time to provide a mitigation plan for a problem that they characterize as "sincerely concerned about your safety". Chrysler and NHTSA came to an arrangement in June 2013 that a recall was required. It is unacceptable that over 8 month later, there is still no resolution. Please advise.
