Accelerator Pedal problems of the 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Five problems related to accelerator pedal have been reported for the 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Accelerator Pedal problem

Failure Date: 08/03/2004

While in park vehicle engaged into reverse. As a result, vehicle accelerated down a ramp in reverse and crashed into a cement wall. Driver sustained bruises all over the left side of her body.

2 Accelerator Pedal problem

Failure Date: 07/30/2003

The throttle was stuck in open position. The consumer was unable to stop the vehicle or turn it off.

3 Accelerator Pedal problem

Failure Date: 02/25/2002

Driver had their foot on the brake pedal, and the vehicle accelerated. This caused an accident. Please provide more details. Ts.

4 Accelerator Pedal problem

While backing out of a parking space consumer shifted the vehicle into drive, and depressed the accelerator pedal, and vehicle accelerated at a higher speed. Then, consumer shifted the vehicle into neutral to gain control and stop. Dealership serviced the vehicle, and replaced the software program.

5 Accelerator Pedal problem

While driving up an incline at 25/30 mph accelerator pedal went all the way to the floor and vehicle accelerated at a high speed. This was caused by the throttle body part sticking in open, per dealership.
