Four problems related to rear seat belt have been reported for the 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
My complaint is regarding my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the left rear seat belt. The seat belt has worked fine until the other day when it just up and quite working. Now the seat belt will not snap back into position. I thought I would check to see if there were any recalls on this and noticed there were recalls on 1999 models like mine, but they did not include my vehicle in this recall. The NHTSA recall # for the rear seat belts is 98v276000. I find this kind of strange that there would be a recall on (1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee) the same thing that I am now having the problem with. I have ordered the part and it is going to cost me $97. 45 to get it fixed not including installation.
The failure of rear passenger seat belt mechanism has allowed the occupant to hit the front seat before locking.
The seat belts in my Jeep Grand Cherokee come un latched, this concerns me because I have two children in car seats.
Consumer is unhappy with dealers recall repair, excessive time to complete (98v-276). Yh.
