Side/window Air Bag problems of the 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Three problems related to side/window air bag have been reported for the 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 02/28/2003

I was driven off the highway by a snow plow. I was driving more than 40 miles per hour and I struck a tree head on. The complaint results from the fact the driver's side air bag on my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee did not deploy. Although Jeep conducted an inspection of the vehicle, they refused to acknowledge there was a failure.

2 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 09/26/1999

Consumer was driving at 35 mph when vehicle was hit on the right side. Vehicle spinned around and was hit again head-on, and then hit again on the right side. Upon impact, driver side and passenger's side air bag didn't deploy.

3 Side/window Air Bag problem

While pulling out of a parking lot at speed of 7mph air bag deployed without any indication, causing injury to consumer. Dealer has been notified. Please provide further information.
