The contact owns a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the blend door and the recirculation blower door were both defective. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 140,000 and the current mileage was 142,000. The VIN was unavailable.

Visibility:defroster/defogger system:windshield:blower Jeep Grand Cherokee lmt. Heater problem. I have a dual control system, that is only heating on the passenger's side. There are several complaints and the cost of repair is outrageous, the part is semi reasonable, but the labor and location makes it extremely costly. This is a danger in terms of visibility and I believe Chrysler should fix the problem. Several Jeep owners are having the same problems, so it appears to be a manufactures defect.
Visibility: defroster/defogger system:windshield:blower I have a 2000 Jeep that the defogger does not work properly, and from what I have learned, Chrysler has known about this problem for some time and has failed to act on the problem as far as a recall! this is a dangerous issue with most Jeeps. This failure occurs everyday due to the fact the blend doors are broken as part of faulty manufacturing. I can't even defrost the windshield due to this problem. I don't mind fixing the problem, but when I learn that Chrysler knew of this problem long ago, I think they need to bear some of the burden. Thank you.
The blower motor resistor has melted! (fire hazard) now we only have cold air blowing from our vents. No heat. Someone said it is the blend doors. Apparently lots of ppl have this problem! (it is soon to be winter time) also, creaking/motor sounds come from the dash when the vehicle is off?!?!.
Passenger side a/c vents started blowing cool air does not warm up at all when heater is cut on.
When heater is on, my vehicle heater blows only out of the driver side vents. Cold air blows out on the passenger side. The vehicle also blows no a/c on the passenger side.
The heater is not working. The heater only blows out cold air. From the research I've done, it will cost an estimated $800 to $1200 to fix. The blender door is broken and is a manufacturer defect nothing I have done could have caused this.
My hvac blend doors have broken which will require the dealership to take the entire dash apart to fix a $200 part. The total cost of this is $1500 due to extensive labor. The dealership informed me that this is a common problem with the 1999-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee models with the dual temperature control settings.
My ac fan had been cutting on and off randomly in my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I thought at first it may be a bad climate control control panel. A few days later, I smelled electrical burning smell in my car and the fan would not come on at all. Today I removed the blower fan, thinking it was bad, but it turns out the blower is fine, the blower control module relay and wiring harness had melted in the dashboard above where the passengers feet would rest. I have taken pictures and will be glad to send them upon request, but I think Jeep/Chrysler should have to replace this due to the potential fire threat and lack of safety (since the fuse did not blow). I attempted to replace the part through an automotive parts company, but the blower control module will need to be purchased straight from Chrysler corp. Please call me or email me with any follow up questions you may have. Once again, I will also send pictures upon request. Thanks!.
Windshield will not defog due to malfunctioning blend door. Forced to pull over in heavy rain due to inability to see road.
Blend door failure on 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Climate controls no longer work, including defrost/defog vents, causing dangerous situations.
After crackling a weird air issues in my Jeep the climate control suddenly stopped functioning correctly all together. Thiswas going to cost me roughly $1,200 to repair, and I read on the internet that there was more than one incident. After 52,000 miles something called a blend door effect took place. If I knew this before I bought my Jeep I would have avoided it like the plague.
The climate control system in my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited does not function properly making visibility hard at times. From the research I've done this seems to be a large problem in these vehicles. They use a blend door system which are prone to break and require thousands of dollars to repair due to extensive dash removal.
Hvac system failure on Jeep wj. Creaking noises frequently heard from underneath dash, load fan noises heard from inside dash. These sounds indicate the start of a blend door failure in the hvac system. I ask you to consider a partial or total recall request to daimler Chrysler on behalf of the NHTSA and Jeep owners affected by this problem.
Air conditioner/heater blower does not work. . Read more...
1) no sign of failure, just happened out of no where 2)no heat from passenger side of vehicle at all, no floor heat, no front vent heat, and most importantly, no windshield defrost heat, causing a lot of fog and poor visibility during these cold months. . . 3)have not done anything to fix issue, cost of replacement parts and labor is $2000, down time of vehicle is 2 days to fix. . . A lot of work for a novice like myself.
The blower motor on my Jeep Grand Cherokee limited failed due to a problem with doors in the heating/cooling system. The repair will cost $ 900 - 1,200. 00 to repair. There was heat. There was cooling. There was no blowing to send that air into the vehicle compartment. Defrosting of windows was slow. The condensation evaporated only after the air moved itself. I can only switch to "defrost", a minimal assist in the process. My husbandwas unwilling to drive or be a passenger in this vehicle due to the danger caused by the defrosting problem (we have a home in mn and I will be moving there soon) or during the extremes of temperature during winter and summer. There was a website with a long list of people with the same claim.
Unable to control direction of heat/cool to vents. Dealer diagnosed blower air door failure . Replacement was over $800. I do not have the old parts.
The blend and recirculation door assembly in my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited failed. This leads to a loss of heat and defroster. I live in minnesota so with no defroster this is a huge safety hazard. My windows won't defrost and will suddenly fog up without warning. I can suddenly lose all visibility.
Visibility: defroster/defogger system:windshield:blower.
Defroster/defogger system:windshield:blower , hvac system failures repeatedly. Dealership charges $800 to $1500 per incident. First time evaporator core goes bad, second time blend doors go bad, third time fan motor goes, forth time fan motor and thermostatic resistor that controls fan goes bad, fifth time blend doors go again, sixth time thermostatic resistor and its wiring harness burn up, seventh time, recirculate/fresh air door breaks off inside unit. 2000 Grand Cherokee limited with dual zone automatic climate control system.
I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I purchased in 2003 with only 27k on it and a factory warranty I also purchased a extended bumper to bumper warranty from the Jeep dealer when I bought the vehicle at about 75k the vehicle lost all heat on the passenger side it only blows cold air I took the vehicle back to the dealer ship to have it looked at they told me it could of been one of two things either the heater control unit or the blend doors but almost always it is the blend doors, they then told me that it was not covered due to the warranty expired a few months before and that it would cost me over $1000 dollars to fix I have been driving the vehicle all this time with no heat because I can not afford to fix it and it is a major safety hazard as all winter long my car will not defrost, I can only see out a little space in the window when the temp drops to freezing, if I knew back then that this issue is affecting almost every Jeep owner out there not a select few I would of acted sooner but as I cant stand it anymore I did some research and found many sites that have hundreds even thousands of people affected by the faulty parts installed by the Chrysler corp this type of issue is not supposed to happen when you spend 30+k on a vehicle.
No heat from passenger side of 2000 grand Jeep cherokee. Blend door issue.
Taken to dealer prior to warranty expiration, they could not duplicate problem. After warranty expired, the heater blend door completely failed, causing a lack of heat/defrost - repaired. Problem returned 12/2007 vehicle is doing the same thing again, will need repairing.
