1 Crankshaft Position Sensor problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2015

The contact owns a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving at various speeds, the interior lights would suddenly turn on and the vehicle would shut off. After restarting the engine, the vehicle operated normally. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the crank sensor was faulty. The sensors were replaced, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 170,000.

2 Crankshaft Position Sensor problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2015

Tl- the contact owns a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds the vehicle would suddenly shut off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the cam and crank sensors were faulty. The sensors were replaced but the vehicle continued to experience the failure. The contact indicated that the vehicle would also stall due to the main computer overheating. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who replaced the screws to the computer. No further information was available. In addition the front driver side seat rails malfunctioned causing the seat to move while operating the vehicle. The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 196,000. Jft.

3 Crankshaft Position Sensor problem

Failure Date: 01/07/2005

Vehicle experienced sudden stalling at various speeds. Taken to dealer for check up, but the cause was undetermined. Initially the dealer replaced the crank sensor which did not resolve the problem. The dealer later determined that a faulty sensor package was the cause of the stalling.

4 Crankshaft Position Sensor problem

Failure Date: 11/05/2001

11/2001 vehicle started stalling intermittently while stopped or at slow speed. Since 11/23/2001 has been out of service for 58 days - crank sensor, fuel relay, pcm, 2 wiring harnesses, clock spring, transmission have not fixed the problem, when it dies, it resets the computer and new one have developed, I. E. - almost dies then lurches forward, at speeds over 50 vehicle feels like the back tires hit ice and then catch (temp 60 degrees). Had 2 CO-pilots - only shows everything shuts down, no diagnostics information.
