1 Cooling Fan problem

Hydraulic cooling fan quit. Can run direct power from battery to solenoid and the hydraulic fan solenoid works but does not work when vehicle is running. Caused vehicle to over heat and need to be towed off the highway.

2 Cooling Fan problem

Failure Date: 05/22/2014

The contact owns a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving various speeds, the check engine indicator illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the dealer for diagnostic testing. The engine cooling fan relay switch was replaced four times. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 154,000.

3 Cooling Fan problem

Failure Date: 04/14/2013

The contact owns a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while bleeding the brakes, the cooling fan activated while the vehicle was off. The contact sustained cuts to the arm. The contact spoke with the manufacturer because there was a recall for the cooling fan under NHTSA recall campaign id number: 06v199000 (engine and engine cooling) but the manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was 118,000.

4 Cooling Fan problem

Failure Date: 07/30/2008

The contact owns a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving 55 mph, the contact heard an explosion underneath the hood and observed plastic particles coming from his vehicle. He pulled over, lifted the hood, and noticed that there was a hole in the radiator and the cooling fan disintegrated. The vehicle was driven to a local repair shop and the mechanic stated that he needed to replace the radiator and the cooling fan. The vehicle was repaired the same day. The dealer advised him to call the manufacturer in regards to submitting claims for reimbursement. The manufacturer stated that there would be no reimbursement for the repairs because the vehicle was not included in any recalls. The current mileage was 63,000 and failure mileage was 60,020. Radiator cooling fan relay has been fixed 3 times in the last 3 years.

6 Cooling Fan problem

Failure Date: 09/23/2006

2003 Grand Cherokee engine over heated when slowing down. The cooling fan relay and cooling fan module was replaced. The hood would not stay open. The dealer replaced the hood props. The front rotors were out of round.

7 Cooling Fan problem

Failure Date: 02/06/2006

Took vehicle to dealer for repair of overheating repeatedly but, problem was never fixed. After contacting said dealer and was told that it could derive from one zillion areas. Contacted diamon-Chrysler customer service about three months ago to no avail.

8 Cooling Fan problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2005

The contact owns a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The vehicle was included in the recalls associated with NHTSA campaign id numbers 06v197000, seats:front assembly:seat heater/cooler, and 09v117000, seats:front assembly:seat heater/cooler. The vehicle was repaired at an authorized dealer for both recalls. After being repaired he noticed that there was still a hole developing in the front drivers seat due to the heated seating feature. The vehicle was taken back to the authorized dealer where it was repaired a third time. The contact also stated that the vehicle would intermittently overheat. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer one time a year for five years consecutively where the engine fan relay and motor was replaced. The failure mileage was 49,742 and the current mileage was 150,000. The consumer also stated the driver's exterior mirror also had a problem with the heating element. Also, the vehicle had an evaporated emission leak which caused the vehicle to fail inspection. The fan relay was replaced five times, the air condition was inoperative, the check engine light illuminated. The dealer refused to cover the repair of a hole that developed in the driver's seat approximately the size of a baseball which he believed was related to the heated element problems.
