36 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/08/2013

Jeep stalled on the freeway. I was going 65 mph on I-71 and it stalled dead in the roadway. I had to pull over after avoiding other vehicles and restart the vehicle. When it stalled, it gave no warning, simply died on the freeway and I was left with no brakes, no steering and limited drivablity. I called Chrysler and got a person by the name of judy as my case manager. She was the most clueless and incompetent person I have ever spoken with. After taking it to the dealership, it stalled again on the freeway a few days later, same thing at freeway speeds. Chrysler support is a joke. . . This issue is still going on.

37 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/23/2013

2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee overland 5. 7 hemi stalled on freeway. I had to immediately pull over as heavy traffic and vehicle would not restart and I lost all steering/brakes/engine control. I ended up hitting a road cone (no notable damage) as I was pulling into the somewhat small pullover zone (was in highway construction). Vehicle restarted only after being put in park and removing and reinserting the key.

38 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2013

The vehicle has been in the shop 6 times in 6 years. This latest time Chrysler refused to honor the warranty. The dealer, who is out of business due because of Chrysler shutting them down, was to notify us of an inspection when it came due. All the other dealer I spoke to confirmed this, however we were never notified. The repairs were $1065 and should have been under warranty per the dealer which did the repairs. Chrysler has retroactively charged our warranty as well from lifetime to 3 years, even thought warranty work was done in the same year. We have a book that says lifetime and should be covered after inspection. The dealer which did the repairs had no issues with the vehicle of approving the inspection, Chrysler refuse to discuss with the dealer or discuss any further. You have a service light for all services on the vehicle so you don't forget, but you have a 30 day inspection window without any warning or notification.

39 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/22/2013

2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee hemi overland stalled on street twice. Attempting to back into a spot and it stalled twice, blocking a lane of traffic. Had to put in park, pull key out, put key back in to restart. Luckily nobody was driving the posted 35mph speed limit so I was able to get out of the way.

40 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 11/26/2009

2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee stalls at high speeds and intermittently while driving. Dealer unable to fix thus far ( has car for almost 30 days). In addition, same thing happened on my 2007 model and has happened to a number of people I know with Jeep Grand Cherokees. Internet is filed with reports of same events happening at random. Mine stalled at 65 mph - all electric, radio, flashers, everything just goes out. Very scary and very unsafe. Please evaluate.
