The contact owned a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at 35-40 mph, the vehicle stalled and the steering wheel seized while going over a speed bump and hit a tree. The front driver's and passenger air bags deployed. The contact suffered injuries to his lower back and head. Medical attention was received as the contact was transported by ambulance. A police report was filed. The contact was unaware if the vehicle was towed or not. The dealer hill kelly Dodge (6171 pensacola blvd, pensacola, FL 32505) was notified a day prior to the collision about several warning lights that illuminated (check engine, service 4-wheel drive, traction control) and scheduled an upcoming appointment to get the vehicle diagnosed as well as the recall repair for NHTSA campaign number: 19v813000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 145,000.
I was driving on a city street when the vehicle lost accerlation. No check engine light. I stepped on gas it wouldn't accerlat. I then pulled the vehicle over to side of street. Put it in park and then turn it off. Then I restarted the vehicle and a lighting bolt came on dash. I couldn't gain speed, the only thing my vehicle did was roll in drive not speed at all.
Started the vehicle to go pick lunch up. Drove 1/2 mile to restaurant. Pulled into parking spot when the vehicle began to shudder. Put the vehicle in park when it began to stall and the engine light came on. Multiple calls made to dealership to have the recall fixed. They have given excuse after excuse about not being able to fix it. No options were given to help remedy the issue. The vehicle is not safe to drive.
My vehicle will not start from time to time. At times, when it starts, it quickly shuts off and does not run. I am nervous that my vehicle could crash or be harmful to my family or others. My vehicle is currently unreliable at this time as I am unable to get the recall fuel pump relay part at any nearby dealership as there is a waiting list and they can only order one part every 7-10 days. These series of events have been happening for the past 6 months. Our records indicate that your vehicle [1] was included in previous safety recall p54 (NHTSA 14v-530) or safety recall r09 (NHTSA 15v-115). The remedy for the previous recalls was to replace the fuel pump relay. If you had either of these recalls completed, the installed remedy relay is susceptible to silicon contamination on the relay contacts, which can cause the relay to fail. A fuel pump relay failure can result in a no-start condition or an engine stall condition if the vehicle is running. A vehicle engine stall while driving can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning.
Nhtsa recall number 19v-813 recall date: November 14, 2019 repair parts are still not available after one year. Vehicle has experienced stall while driving and now does not start. Dealership offered to tow vehicle to dealership but no estimate on time for repair. Recall r09 was previously completed.
The latest incident happened Sunday 11/29/20. Prior to this, the event has happened at least 4 other times. While driving at highway speed 55-70 and slowly coming down to a stop on a ramp or turning the vehicle while decreasing speed, the engine will stop running. No visual or auditory warnings happen, you're only aware when you feel the power steering has gone away, and the tachometer reads zero rpm. I have been able to safely pull off and stop in each event, the vehicle needs to be cycled off and then restarted. The safety concern is this event could happen into left turn across oncoming traffic with no ability to accelerate out of harms way.
I have been having my car randomly shut off while in drive for over a year. I'm scared of driving my own car. It has happened to me well over 25 times. I've asked the connecticut dealerships (wetmore's and northwest hills) about this multiple times and as of today they say there is no fix and they can't do anything because there is no fix for the recall. It happens when I'm driving and braking and turning left, such as turning left off a ramp or going down a hill and slowing to turn left or slowing on a big hill at a stop light. The car completely stops. The brakes stop working and power steering is lost. Then I have to put it in park and when I press start it restarts. But this is dangerous. I also have a special warranty I paid for and because there is a recall the dealership said my warranty that I paid $4k for is useless because of the recall. Does someone have to die for this to matter?.
Vehicle stalls while in motion. All electrical continues to operate, engine shuts down with no warning. Likely related to NHTSA recall 19v-813. Always occurs within ~10 minutes of start. This recall was published 12 months ago (on top of a previous recall for same issue). Manufacturer still does not have a fix "no parts available". This issue is going to kill someone, if it has not already.
Radio not working at all sometimes or delayed. Volume not working or delayed back up camera not working or delayed air suspension not working at all.
My wife was stranded when the engine stopped and will not restart. Mechanic made us aware he cannot fix as this is an issue under an open recall for the vehicle since November 2019. I called a Jeep service center who said they cannot apply the recall work because Jeep/fiat haven't made the parts available. Meantime we now have a Jeep we still have to pay for even though it cannot be driven. This recall came out a year ago and I am told another year could pass before Jeep makes parts available to service centers. What in the meantime are impacted Jeep owners supposed to do, keep paying for vehicles that cannot be driven? two years being without a vehicle is completely unacceptable. We had shut off the engine to refuel and the engine would not restart, stranding us. Our mechanic ruled out bad gas and indicated the tipm has malfunctioned. Recall 19v-813 addresses it (Jeep's recall for it is v62) but appears another year will pass before the recall can be done. That's a year after the recall was announced. Again, unacceptable.
Car died from lack of fuel has a recall for this #v-62 over one year old and no parts are available to fix issue.
My 2012jeep Grand Cherokee will stall as I'm coming to a stop. It doesn't alert with any codes when this happens. It is now doing this on a daily basis. The body shop informed me that a part is still not available for this issue. It stalled trining onto a on-ramp, while I was in a roundabout, as I approached a stop sign. It is happening at deceleration. No code is sent any time it stalls. The music is till playing, all lights are still on. I know it has stalled because the power steering is out and engine is off. I put the car in neutral press the break and started button to make it go again. Totally not safe while in a roundabout let alone anytime.
This recall has been going on a long time with no remedy for it. . . . My family safety why is it not made available yet. . . . Since it can cause a major accident.
4x4 serivice on my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee turns on all the time and I'm worried it won't ride the same in the rain when it has to run with all 4 wheels and it's just running with 2 while driving I'm really concern.
I experienced a strong fuel smell on filling the tank of my Jeep. The dealer and an independent diagnosed a cracked fuel tank. The tank had 3 cracks in the top of the tank which allowed fuel fumes to enter the car. The fuel tank was replaced at my cost of $785. 11, the problem was solved. This created a very hazardous situation with risk of explosion or fire at any time.
My car continues to have intermittent issues with start. But I am most concerned about the potential for the Jeep to stall and crash while the in driving. I am risking the lives and the life of family and friends each time I drive this Jeep. This fule pump relay switch recall (v62) (NHTSA 19v-813) was issued back in November 2019. My communications with koons Chrysler in tysons corner virginia and mopar have not produced positive result. They will not provide with a date for resolution. This is my only transportation, so I have no other options for transportation. I pray each time I drive this vehicle that me, and my passengers make it to and from our destinations safely. Please help me.
I have had severe electrical problems with this car. The car randomly shuts down while I am driving which puts me and my family in very dangerous situations. It looks like there is a recall intended to address this issue but it sounds like they do not have a solution yet. The issue is getting worse and worse and I am not in a position to buy a new car right now. What do I do?.
There is a current recall on my Jeep, I was notified of October of 2019. It is now September of 2020, and there is no resolution for this recall. My truck has had trouble starting several occasions. Many of those times I was left stranded. It eventually will start again, so far, but one day it will not and it is due to this recall. The tipm needs replacing and it is a very expensive job.
I have been waiting for over 2 years for Jeep to complete the recall for v62/NHTSA 19v-813. In may of 2020, the fuel pump relay failed and my Jeep would not start. The dealer (fort collins Jeep in fort collins CO) replaced the relay with the same previous version of the relay, which fixed the problem but did not satisfy the recall. They did not have parts available to fix the recall and I was put on a wait list. In the fall of 2020 I moved from colorado to tucson, az. In June 2021, I called larry h miller Chrysler/Jeep dealer in tucson and was put on a wait list for the part. It's now been almost another year since then and they are still telling me that they don't have the parts available. For what is considered a safety issue, it seems wrong to have to wait for years to have it fixed. (note: the date I entered, 5/19/2020, is the day that the Jeep failed to start. The recall was originally issued long before this. ).
Vehicle stalls upon ignition. It will sometimes not start again for a minute or two. The start problems are worsening as time passes. Vehicle is stationary when this problem occurs.
Vehicle struggles to start.
The recall is 8 years old and no remedy as of yet with uncertainty of when or how this may cause my vehicle to be hazardous to my life or other motorists is of grave concern . I consider this recall to be of serious concern for my safety as well as other motorists!I find it unsatisfactory and negligent and unacceptable not to have a remedy for the recall as of yet . I demand remedy or compensation as my legal right .
Vehicle has no diagnostic codes showing up but has stalled on us several times almost causing accident twice now. Also pulsates at speeds around 45 and again at 60mph. Since the last stall it now has a very rough idle. We have called dealership about recall and they state yes there is one but they do not have a fix. Are we supposed to just keep driving with these safety issues ? vehicle will stall while after driving coming to a stop at light. We lose steering ability and braking. We are usually going straight and on city street or coming off freeway.
I received safety recall #19v-813 in February of this year. The recall warns of an engine stall without any warning. We live in a remote area and cannot risk driving the vehicle. We have not been able to use the car for over four months. I have called Chrysler multiple times but there is still no remedy. This delay is intolerable.
Every once in a while I go get gas to fill my car up and when I'm done I go to start the the Jeep up it starts up then cuts back off like 2-3 times!.
The car does not accelerate at times when driving and car has a problem starting. They don't have the part yet.
My Jeep all of a sudden stalled right before a sharp corner causing panic and loss of control of the vehicle. My family is scarred and my wife does not trust driving the vehicle especially after not even a week later we received a recall letter stating vehicle can stall but there's no solution!!!! when the Jeep stalled I drove into a ditch unable to over power the all of a sudden tight steering and now I have suspension problems!.
Unknown: fact: my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee overland fuel pump relay can fail while driving and cause a vehicle crash without warning. This information was provided in December, 2019, in a letter/notice from fca. The recall number is v62/NHTSA 19v-813. Replacements for this fuel pump relay are being supplied to dealerships at the rate of 1 per week. This is unnacceptable and is forcing owners of these vehicles to put their families at risk. I cancelled my, and my family's vacation because my dealership is unable to provide a fix for this fuel pump relay, actually the second fix. The first was r09/NHTSA 14v- 115.
Vehicle has had starting problems and stalling problems on numerous occasions since December 2019. I believe these are related to the recall issued on this vehicle last December 2019. Complaint is the Chrysler corporation is unwilling to make a temporary fix as promised until the "vehicle is totally dead. " stalling on the highway in the middle of rush hour is a safety issue/hazard. Most recent incident: Sunday-2-2-2020, vehicle would not start for five hours.
Purchased this vehicle used 11/13/2019 and was advised of a fuel pump relay recall (v62). It's now sept 8th 2021 and I've still not been advised by my dealer that parts are available. They claim that they're only able to order one recall kit/week.
The 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee overland I purchased two years ago has started to completely stall while driving causing the power steering to not function as well as the brakes. This engine power turns off randomly at around 10-15 mph (when making turns, stopping and/or accelerating) but there are no warning lights that appear on the dash. All electrical power to the car still functions and the engine stall is not noticeable until applying pressure to the brakes or trying to steer the wheels. The first incident was (easter) 28 April 2019. The car shut off around 10 miles per hour as I made a left turn crossing the incoming lane into a parking lot. Luckily there was no car coming or a serious accident would have resulted. The frequency of these types of stalls have become greater. They are happening at least once a week without any type of warning. The most recent incident was November 7th 2019. This vehicle was released from the dealership on November 1st, 2019. The vehicle has been taken to the dealership multiple times to find the problem as well as maintenance. Nothing has been found that would cause this. The dealership says the vehicle is perfectly fine. As simple test drive will not be able to find the problem. This is the same concern as fca recall t59 and NHTSA recall # 17v-572.
Engine stalled while in motion on us highway 101 on 11/7/19; fortunately no crash occurred. We took into mechanic at Jeep santa maria; they had it all week from 11/8/19 to 11/15/19 and said it was fine. It appears this was caused by a faulty part that was installed pursuant to a previous recall that fca has been investigating since 2018. We are anxious to have this open NHTSA campaign number:19v813000 resolved ASAP.

There has been a sporadic issue when trying to start my vehicle where it'll make an attempt to turn over and get started but it's getting stuck as if it's maybe not catching the correct amount of fuel. I've also experienced seat belt issues with my seat belt light on and beeping as if it's not on but it would already be properly buckled in. I also had an issue with my engine cooling system that was cause some sort of leak.
