Transmission Fluid Leaking problems of the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee

When driving on the interstate at normal speed, the vehicle jumped out of gear and into neutral while in the passing lane. With no power I almost had a car rear end me before I could put on my flashers and pull over. When I pulled over and restarted the vehicle, it acted normal for a while. Before arriving home the vehicle did the same thing again. I took the vehicle to a repair shop and was told that the transmission oil cooler had started leaking and the vehicle was low in transmission fluid. However, with this vehicle there is no way to check the transmission fluid level and there was not a lot of fluid leakage found where car is normally parked. This needs to be recalled before someone gets injured!.

Transmission cooler/condenser leak causes loss of tranmission fluid but you can't check the fluid level because there is a tamper proof cap on the transmission fluid level dip stick. Transmission got hot, truck slipped gears and loss of forward momentum control. This should be a recalled item but is not.

It appears this is a known issue with these models of Jeep Grand Cherokee and this type of component failure should not be considered normal wear and tear. This should be taken care of under a manufacturer recall of the problematic areas before serious issues arise.

Car began to sputter and rise in rpms and missing gear going into nuetral and causing dangerous situations in traffic runs at 2 rpms in ideal standpoint now car is leaking fluids and service 4wheel drive lights on I read that there are recalls for this issue in other keeps but not for my VIN number and this is a manufacturer problem.

Tl- the contact owns a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving 50 mph, the contact applied the accelerator pedal but failed to respond. The contact stated that when pressing gas pedal the vehicle started slowing down without warning. The contact pulled to the shoulder of the road. The vehicle was not towed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer liechty Dodge located at (5080 academy ln, bessemer, al 35022(205) 432-7995) for a recall repair alternator. The vehicle was diagnosed and was inform the vehicle had a transmission fluid leak. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and was inform it was not part of a recall. The failure mileage was 131,000. As.

With only 50,800 miles check engine light produced several codes. I took this vehicle to 3 different places for a diagnostic test. They said it was power steering / a/c coolant leaking. With the 2nd diagnoses they found a leak with the auxiliary cooler (transmission fluid). So I had a complete transmission flush work done, but it's still leaking. .

There is a leak at the transmission cooler. Looking on line, this appears to be a common problem. I notices the problem when I tried to accelerate up a hill and the transmission would not shift to the proper gear, and the car slowed and I pulled off to the side of the road to not block traffic. This was dangerous and I was not happy. I turned the car off and on, and it seemed to work fine. The dealer service department located the problem to be the transmission oil cooler leak causing low transmission fluid/oil and making the car not shift properly. I was driving/accelerating up hill at the time. The Jeep dealer at folsom California has the car now.
