Seat Belt problem #1

Seat belt retracted d rings cracked. Seat belt will not retract.

Seat Belt problem #2

My driver seatbelt is no longer retracting back to original position. Passenger seat won't retract out and is now hanging loose. Very unsafe.

Seat Belt problem #3

The seatbelt I has stopped retracting on the passenger side of the vehicle and is now occurring on the driver side of the vehicle as well. This is a safety concern.

Seat Belt problem #4

The seat belt does not retract. There is a crack where the seat belts enter the post and compresses the seat belt. I took it to the dealer and they would love to fix it but there are no parts available so they can not do anything. In summary we use the seatbelt only as a decoration piece so we do not get ticket it by non-using a seat belt. I asked the dealer if I could try to fix it my myself but he believes I will void the warranty. Not having a seatbelt is a major safety issue, that's why I write to you. Suggestion: (1) or mopar gets the parts available to the dealer or (2) we do not penalized the user for trying to fix it. This is my wife car [xxx] ) she is [xxx] /o. The car is excellent conditions with 48 k miles. Thank you much for you help in considering this issue. Btw Jeep forum is full of users with the same problem. My name is [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Seat Belt problem #5

I am reporting an unresolved safety recall issue on my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee (VIN: 1c4rjfbg9ec323809). On February 1, 2025, I brought my vehicle to chapman Dodge Chrysler Jeep (3470 boulder highway) after being informed that the driver’s seatbelt retractor was part of a safety recall and needed replacement. I was initially told the replacement part would arrive within 10 days. However, more than five months later, the seatbelt remains unrepaired. My wife and I have called the dealership multiple times—she called five times and I called once. Each time we were promised a follow-up call when the part arrived, but none was ever made. On June 9, the dealership told us a new part order had been placed 2–3 weeks earlier from a new supplier, and that the sales associate armando (“mondo”) would follow up. No update was provided to me directly. On July 9, we were told the part was ordered again and messages were left with mondo to contact us, but as of today, no one has reached out. Throughout this process, I have felt dismissed and the safety of the non-functional seatbelt— which hangs limp and offers no protection—has not been prioritized. I never received an official recall notice from Jeep, and I am left with a vehicle unsafe to drive with no clear timeline for repair. I am requesting NHTSA’s assistance in addressing this ongoing safety concern, as the dealership has failed to resolve the recall in a timely manner and the delay poses a significant risk.

Seat Belt problem #6

Without incident or warning, front passenger seatbelt will not retract, pull out or lock when jerked. Inspected 1/13/25 by capital cdjr, garner,nc 919-582-0202, found to require replacement per mopar warranty bulletin#d-21-04 dated 3-24-2021. Service advisor and parts stated that seatbelt is on national backorder, can't be ordered and no eta can be provided, although my name was added to "the list. " please note that this warranty bulletin was published four years ago, yet parts remain unavailable. Online research indicates this safety failure was investigated by NHTSA and caused mopar to extend seatbelt warranty coverage. Without replacement parts sourcing, without ability to order, without an eta, the situation still exists without resolution. When will this become a priority? thank you.

Seat Belt problem #7

The seat belt on the driver’s side of my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee laredo has a cracked plastic guide, which has caused the seat belt to stop retracting properly. This malfunction compromises the functionality of the seat belt, making it unsafe for use and posing a serious risk in the event of an accident. I am currently pregnant and rely on this vehicle for daily transportation, so this issue puts both my safety and the safety of my unborn child at risk. I have contacted the dealership and confirmed there are no active recalls for my vehicle. However, this appears to be a manufacturing defect, as other vehicles of the same year and model have reportedly experienced similar issues. The problem has persisted, and the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This problem I noticed recently, and don't recall the exact date.

Seat Belt problem #8

The seat belt does not retract as it should. I have already had it replaced once and I have a second that is failing now. We have not been in an accident to see if it is a problem with restraining you as a driver, but it is a point of concern. The dealer replaced the first one, right after we purchased the vehicle, and it is exhibiting similar symptoms now of not retracting after unbuckled. You can manually align it to get it to feed back, but this doesn't seem to be the correct way to handle this.

Seat Belt problem #9

The driver side seatbelt does not retract. It has to be physically pushed back into the device so extra seatbelt is not hanging out. If one were to stop, the locking mechanism would have seatbelt slack in it so it wouldn’t restrain the driver immediately.

Seat Belt problem #10

Driver's seatbelt is loose and won't retract. I tried to wash it, but it still hangs down to where it will get caught in the door when closing. This is a major safety issue in that my seatbelt is not snug against my body and would not protect me in an accident. I have seen numerous other complaints online about this same issue. Jeep is saying I will have to pay to have it diagnosed and repaired since it's out of warranty. Seat belts are required by law, but mine doesn't work!.

Seat Belt problem #11

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while attempting to buckle the driver’s side seat belt, the seat belt was not retracting and was loose. The contact stated that the passenger’s side front seat belt was also loose. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 67,000.

Seat Belt problem #12

Unknown.

Seat Belt problem #13

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the front driver’s and passenger side seat belts failed to retract back. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was informed that the VIN was included in an unknown manufacturer’s recall and the seat belt retractor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000.

Seat Belt problem #14

There is an extended recall regarding the driver and passenger seatbelts in 2014-2015 Dodge durangos and 2014-2015 Jeep Grand Cherokees, number d-21-04. My driver seatbelt retracts very slowly and the passenger seatbelt does not retract at all without manual manipulation. Because of this safety issue I brought my Jeep Grand Cherokee into a dealership in January 2023. At the time I was told parts (x90) were not available yet. I have since called monthly because my car at this point is unsafe to drive with passengers without a repair. Today (June 2023) I was told that there is an indefinite backorder and there is no estimated remedy for the part. The service technician from the dealership indicated that the part is likely not being manufactured anymore. He indicated that my only option was to either drive an unsafe vehicle, stop driving it, or sell it. I was informed that Chrysler would likely not be manufacturing a fix for another 6 months to one year.

Seat Belt problem #15

Driver side seatbelt won’t retract. I’ve cleaned the seatbelt thoroughly and still won’t retract. Vehicle has only 77k miles.

Seat Belt problem #16

What component: the piece of plastic trim that helps guide the seatbelt into the wall of the car has cracked and is preventing the seatbelt from retracting. Safety risk: this prevents the seatbelt from retracting while driving the car (if it becomes loose it stays loose and therefore doesn't restrain the driver. ) inspection: the dealer said this is not covered under warranty or recall. (I called and described the problem to them. ) this just started suddenly with no warning. My car has about 110,000 miles and this happened recently.

Seat Belt problem #17

I was driving and pressed on the gas to go and my car shifted into neutral and wouldn't let me go. I almost got hit by a truck due to this. Luckily he swerved to avoid me. Also my seat belt pulls out but won't retract on passenger side door.

Seat Belt problem #18

The car just stalled in the middle of the road on a busy street with the information 4wd drive temporarily unavailable till service. There was no prior warning, the car has around 80k miles and has been taken care of regularly with no outsanding calls or other maintenance. Checking the resources available, the reliability on this car seems pretty low with many know transmission issues. I had the car towed to the dealer and they are wanting to fix 1. Valve body and connector to pan, 2. Dtcm and broken engine and trans mount. A few weeks back the drivers side seat belt stopped retracting (the dealer said they would fix that). The car just stalling with no prior notification or issues added to which the car belt retracting happened on a busy street and very well could have happened in the freeway causing safety and security issues for this and other vehicles on the road. There are innumerable cases of transmissions reports and issues for this vehicle, most of those fixed earlier on during the warranty might just seemed to happened a little bit later. It is a disaster waiting to happen with other vehicle owners if not addressed proactively in my humble opinion, I was relatively lucky to have happened without an incident but it could have been worse. Please need your help in addressing this safety issue ASAP.

Seat Belt problem #19

The seat belt would not retract, and it also would not tighten around the chest area of passengers. The belt would just lay on your lap. It was a safety hazard because if there would have been into a accident, it would not have prevented the passenger from going through the windshield.

Seat Belt problem #20

The front seat belts will not retract. Part seems to be broken. Jeep says not a safety issue and it will be a month till they can fix it. I asked how am I supposed to drive with a seat belt that doesn’t work/ response was- I don’t know. The vehicle has 103105 miles.

Seat Belt problem #21

With less than 16,000 miles, the driver side seat belt just stopped recoiling. Wife stated one day when she got back from running errands, she unbuckled the seat belt after driving and heard a click noise and the seat belt did not retract. Ever since then the seat does not retrack and whenever someone drives the car, they need to ensure the seat belt is placed within the car so it does not get caught in the door being closed. This will only work for so long until it gets caught in the door before the belt gets frayed and is degraded.

Seat Belt problem #22

There is a known issue with the seat belt frame latching unit part #1vl07dx9ag for the driver and the front passenger seats. This issue prompted Jeep to provide an extended warranty to fix faulty units. The bigger problem here is, the parts are back ordered for weeks and months. As this is a seat belt operational issue, and a major safety defect, this should be a recall and not a warranty item. I have been waiting since July 20 for the part to be installed. My front seat belts, both sides, do not tighten or retract and I risk serious injury in the event of a collision. Jeep must be held responsible to provide the parts to all dealerships as a backstock item, given that this is (in the words of my Jeep service center) not a matter of if but when the part fails. Nhtsa should convert the warranty status to recall, similar to the recent recalls on other vehicles having seat belt issues.

Seat Belt problem #23

Both driver and passenger seat belts have issues with retracting.

Seat Belt problem #24

Seat belts don’t retract because of broken plastic piece in the retractable seat belt system. I researched and found there was no recall but rather a extension of the warranty to fix the defect. I made an appointment on June 13, 2022 at a san diego Jeep dealer and they confirmed the seat belts were malfunctioning and said they didn’t have the parts but they would arrive by July 6. I called July 6th and they said they didn’t have parts until July 25th. I called still no parts, told me August 20th, still no parts. Now told me to call September 26th 2022 to see if parts will arrive. This is dangerous. I’ve told them numerous times. My seat belt is hanging loose while I drive. If I get in an accident I’m afraid it’ll do more harm than good. Is there something you can do to help me? thank you.

Seat Belt problem #25

Jeep customers were not alerted to the seat belt plastic d ring potentially having visible stress/fatigue cracks and breaking overtime. When broken, the d ring prevents the seat belt from functioning correctly by pinching the seat belt and causing it not retract. Reference TSB 23-013-21. This is a preventable issue, but Jeep customers need to know to have their car visually inspected. This was reported already to the NHTSA but closed due to Jeep offering a warranty extension. This solution requires the seat belt to actually break so the customer can be allerted to the issue and have the seatbelt replaced. In my case, my driver seat belt no longer retracts and my passenger side has significant visible stress cracks in the d ring. I notified my Jeep dealer of the issue and the TSB. My first appointment was only for Jeep to confirm the problem, which they did and returned my car to me stating they don’t have the replacement parts which are on backorder with no expected arrival date. I also notified Jeep corporate of this issue in detail. It has been over a month and I must continue to drive my vehicle as is, as the replacement parts are not available. I recommend a recall for Jeep owners to have their seatbelts visually inspected for cracks so the defective parts can be replaced before they actually break and cause a safety issue.

Seat Belt problem #26

Cracked plastic pinched section of the seat belt at the d-rings and prevented the seat belts from retracting and locking in a sudden stop.

Seat Belt problem #27

I went to the dealer and told them about my seat belt, they said I need a new retractor. So after doing my research on youtube I see numerous people with this vehicle body style have the same problem, people suggested it wasn’t the retractor but the plastic peace that the belt is in between on the pillar of the car is for some reason squeezing it, so I used a knife to see if I move it up will it work? and yes it did the problem was that and possibly the retractor but not as I can tell. This issue is happening too much for it to be just a oops. It is a safety concern for me and my passengers god forbid an accident with anyone with this issue. It is unethical as well for the dealer to charge an outstanding $1,200. 00 not everyone has the funds to fix something that is so priceless such as safety. I’m sending this letter on behalf of all the people that live with this issue.

Seat Belt problem #28

The passenger side seatbelt does not cinch tightly onto the passenger, potentially causing the passenger to shift forward several inches prior to the seatbelt securing the passenger (if it secured the passenger) and putting that person in danger with the front airbags / front dash of car in an accident.

Seat Belt problem #29

1c4rjfbg1ec516021 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited. Sitting in the passenger side seat of the Jeep stopped and went to remove the seat belt it would not retract. Attempted to pull it out a little further to get it to retract and it would not retract. Being a nurse I know how dangerous this is. I have contacted me dealer to get an apt to get it in as soon as possible to get it fixed. The passenger side seat belt will not retract this is a safety hazard. I see there have been several complaints on this model for this same safety hazard. Reporting as this is very dangerous.

Seat Belt problem #30

The pillar loop of the seatbelt cracked on the driver's seat belt. The piece that guides the seatbelt in the pillar loop cracked, and as a result it now pinches the seatbelt and prevents the seatbelt from retracting. It is pinched so tightly that I can't even manually "retract" it by pushing the seatbelt back into the door/wall, and instead my seatbelt hangs loosely in the seat around me. Since the seatbelt hangs loosely around the seat and can't even be manually retracted, I may as well not have access to a seatbelt which is a very dangerous situation. If I were to crash, the seatbelt would be completely ineffective. No event occurred to cause the crack. There were no warning signs, lights, or indications that something was wrong until one day I got in the car and it would just no longer retract. The first appearance of the issue was around January 27, 2022. It was very cold the week it happened so I am unsure if the cold temperature had anything to do with the crack, however a seat belt should not break because of cold weather. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request, and to date the issue has not been confirmed by a dealer or service center since it is very obviously an issue. Additionally, it has not been inspected yet as the quoted prices for fixing it are extremely high even though it appears to be a malfunction of the specific piece of safety equipment, as exhibited by the abundance of identical complaints specifically for my make and model (2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee).

Seat Belt problem #31

The driver side seat belt is not retracting/faulty. It will not securely hold the driver if a collision occurs. This Jeep has blown fuel back out of the tank to saturate and shut down a gas station. The attorney general in vermont got involved in my case. The fuel system had to be replaced. Next the passenger side seat belt secured my passenger into the seat so tightly I had to pull the vehicle over. The seat belt would not release. The passenger side belt was replaced with a big fight over who was responsible for the bill. Now the driver side seat belt is faulty. I am disappointed after reading reviews of so many consumers having the same issue. What gives? are you going to wait to recall until someone dies in an accident?.

Seat Belt problem #32

Seat belt will not retract and lock in sudden stops or in crash.

Seat Belt problem #33

The front passenger side seatbelt would not tighten around occupant when pulled from the rest position. When we tried to get it to retract it wouldn't. There seems to be a number of these incidents reported for the same vehicle. This presents a serious safety issue and with only 45k miles on the vehicle this should justify an investigation.

Seat Belt problem #34

Both front seat belts (driver and passenger) failed within a few days of each other in mid September, 2021. They do not retract and consequently, the pretensioner does not function. I have made enquires that reveal that it is a known problem, and that NHTSA have previously investigated (NHTSA action number: pe19011), but that the file has been closed after the 'preliminary evaluation' and the agreement by fca us llc to extend the warranty on the driver and passenger from seat belt assemblies. After having to wait several weeks for an appointment with the dealer, even after explaining the fault and that it was a safety issue, we had the seat belts inspected by a Jeep dealer on 09/30/21 who confirmed the failure. We had previously received a notice from fca us llc in relation to the potential issue and that they were extending the warranty to 15 years/unlimited miles. My concern is that the issue has still not been resolved. The parts have not been replaced and we are told that they are on back order with no firm date for the parts to be in and installed, rectifying this serious safety issue. It is coming up on 4 months. It is our primary family vehicle, and the only vehicle we own that can be driven on winter roads. Our other vehicles are 3 season vehicles. I have been in constant contact with the dealer and fca llc customer care. Their customer care is window dressing. They continue to give excuses, deflect, the dealer blames fca llc and fca llc blames the dealer for the defect and problem not being resolved. We have exhausted all friends and family in borrowing a replacement vehicle over the past few months. We are now being forced to drive a vehicle with no operating from seat belts, in contravention of all road safety principles and laws. In my enquires on the NHTSA website, the odi resume, date closed 05/03/2, states in one of the final paragraphs 'that and NHTSA will take further action if warranted by future circumstances'. I beleive.

Seat Belt problem #35

On the drivers side, the plastic guide that guides the seat belt into the pillar and down to the retraction unit, is cracked and is pinching the seat belt, not allowing the seat belt to properly retract.

Seat Belt problem #36

Driver side seatbelt won't retract. There seems to be a broken piece of plastic on the top piece.

Seat Belt problem #37

The drivers side seat belt will no longer retract making it not useable. It appears that the d-ring is cracked preventing the seat belt from working properly, appears that there are several other NHTSA incidents similar to this one and have been under investigation.

Seat Belt problem #38

Passenger side front seat seat belt fail to retract once extended, resulting in excess seat belt material across the body, and thus possibility of a delayed or insufficient tensioner reaction in an event. After taking to a local service shop, the problem is with the upper plastic guide pinching the belt. This is a huge safety issue since there can be slack in the belt for the front passenger. Also, the upper plastic guide on the driver side front seat belt has a fracture.

Seat Belt problem #39

Front passenger side seat belt won't retract. The seat belt can be pushed by hand back into the upper slot, but after pulling out the belt again, it won't retract again. Believe this is a problem with the upper plastic guide pinching the belt. I have not taken to a dealer since there are numerous identical reports for this vehicle type and I don't want to pay $600 to fix. This is a huge safety issue since there can be slack in the belt for the front passenger.

Seat Belt problem #40

The passenger seat belt is not retracting. Will not retract regardless of stationary or in motion. The upper portion of the seat belt will not retract or hold in place to protect.

Seat Belt problem #41

Driver seat belt is not retracting and it appears the plastic guide in the a-pillar is creaked. I am concerned the integrity of the seat belt restraint system is compromised due to faulty plastic tension guide. I noticed the crack after exiting the Jeep as the seat belt would not retract.

Seat Belt problem #42

The seat belt, on the front passenger side, will not retract. The plastic above where it retracts is cracked and pressing down on the belt. I discovered this when getting in to my car and trying to put on the seat belt. I noticed the drivers side seat belt also has a crack above it. I realized this was a common issue on Grand Cherokees in 2014s when looking at online forums for a solution.

Seat Belt problem #43

Tl the contact owns 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the driver's side front seat belt failed to retract. The vehicle was taken to fields Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram (2800 patriot blvd, glenview, illinois 60026, (847) 446-5100) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the seat belt retractor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 87,943.

Seat Belt problem #44

There is an issue with the front passenger-side seatbelt pillar loop that will not allow the seatbelt to retract. I have researched this issue and the problem is still under the pending recall status NHTSA #pe19011 (since September 2019).

Seat Belt problem #45

Front passenger seat belt is locked in place and wont extend or retract. Appears that a plastic piece that helps guide the seatbelt has cracked and it not allowing the seat belt to move freely.

Seat Belt problem #46

Driver side seat belt won't retract. Crack in plastic causing it to not retract. Unsafe to drive with lots of slack.

Seat Belt problem #47

Front right seat belt doesn't retract. Plastic d-ring (guide at b-pillar) cracked. This is rubbing the seat belt and preventing it from retracting as normal.

Seat Belt problem #48

Front passenger seat belt is locked I see this is not a problem I hand alone. I read someone said they have a pending recall for the last 2 years, I think itsa big issue since some have the problem on the driver seat.

Seat Belt problem #49

Driver side seat belt will not retract. There are no broken/chipped parts visible, appears to be the mechanism at the base.

Seat Belt problem #50

The driver's seat belt does not retract when I get in the vehicle.

Seat Belt problem #51

Front passenger seat belt remains in locked position and failed on breaking.

Seat Belt problem #52

Passenger side seat belt won't retract. Dealership says a plastic part in the retracting system is broken. Why would you use plastic on a safety restraint system?.

Seat Belt problem #53

Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that front driver and passenger seat belt failed to retract. The contact also stated that while driving depressing the brake pedal and had leaned forward, she heard a crack, the seat belt was loose and did not hold her in placed. The vehicle was taken to the independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the seat retraction failed and was to contact a Chrysler dealer. The contact called kolosso Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram, 2701 w college Ave, appleton, WI 54914, and informed them of the failure, the contact was informed the part needed for the repair was discontinued. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer and was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000. Aw.

My vehicle make and model is under recall for p67 but for some reason my VIN was not included but the person I called at Chrysler said it should have been and told me file a complaint with you to try to help me. I am a caregiver with this one vehicle for my mom who is handicap and 81. When I hurt my neck on 11/30 driving? it was in motion and of course I have no seat belt that works. A car stopped in front of me fast and I was thrown forward and my neck pulled. Look at original complaint 11374883.

Seat Belt problem #55

I sent in complaint # 11374883 on 11/16/20 but needed to add that my airbags are not working either along with this seat belt that the pendulum or motor has broken. I understand the airbags are tied into it the p67 recall as well. They are not working either and my warning system is no longer telling me my ab or seat belt is not working or on. Recall p67 was my model and make Jeep but my VIN was not included for some reason. I called gm as the recall stated and they said they don't know why my VIN was not part of the recall and should have been,. They advised me to reach out to you and ask you to get this added to that recall as the issues match and are the same for other owners of the same vehicle I have and year and model. Please, my safety is compromised and I do not have the funds to get this defect fixed. I am the caregiver to my sick 81 yr old handicapped mother and I need safety when carrying my 81 yr old mother around. The passenger side will go next as reported by others on the threads I see. This issue occurred at the mileage others said it did to theirs. 14,000+ as a matter of fact. Please, get me under this recall for my Jeep gc limited 2014 model. This is clearly a defect as was my oil sensor that had no issues at all but a warning light that came on. . I had it fixed at 550. 00 back 2 yrd ago. Many other same complaints but no recall. Chrysler filed bankruptcy. You are truly, my only hope to get this under the p67 recall as it should have been when my model and mileage is the same as others when the issues occurred. Please help me. I have never had this happen in any of my past cars or my husbands old car or my daughters cars. This is a defect and my families safety is at risk as this is our main vehicle. Please help and get me under that recall. I am praying about this , that you will help us to get this defect resolved under p67.

Seat Belt problem #56

Tl the contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated the driver's side front seat belt failed to retract. The vehicle was taken to naperville Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram located at 1565 w ogden Ave, naperville, IL 60540, (630) 505-8282, to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the seat belt retractor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 83,901.

Seat Belt problem #57

Drivers seatbelt does not retract when opening door or lock when driving. I have replaced the passenger seatbelt at a cost of $585. 00 in April, 2020. This is definitely a problem with the 2014 model.

Seat Belt problem #58

Front driver side seat belt stopped retracting. Made it unsafe to drive. The plastic piece that covers the attachment is broken in several places and pinches the seat belt. The entire unit needed to be replaced. This appears to be known issue with Jeep and should part of a safety recall. I was on a parking lot when the seat belt stopped retracting. The cost to fix the problem was $783. 42.

Seat Belt problem #59

No particular incident - vehicle seat belt mechanism cracked. Jeep dealer doesn't offer a warranty, which is hazardous to drive. The seat belt does not retract. Seat belt will not catch if in an accident, and the driver will hit the steering wheel or dashboard. Insurance companies will also not cover 500$ replacement or repair.

Seat Belt problem #60

I purchased this vehicle used only to discover that both front seatbelts will not retract. When you are seated, there is about 1 foot of belt left left dangling, you cannot push it back in. Jeep dealer quoted $1000+ to replace them.

Seat Belt problem #61

The driver's side seat belt suddently would not retract, even while feeding it by hand back into the spool. We found that the slot in the b pillar, through which the seat belt retracts, is cracked. This has caused the seat belt to be pinched. If a small screwdriver is used to pry open the slot, the seat belt retracts. A seat belt not retracting is a serious safety issue and should be a warrantee repair or subject to a recall, neither of which seem to apply.

Seat Belt problem #62

Seat belt stopped retracting and had to be replaced completely. Original owner of vehicle with no previous damages to seatbelt.

Seat Belt problem #63

Same as many many others. Front seat belts are failing to retract due to a cracked guide from the shoulder to body of car bend. Took to dealership with a factory warranty remaining on my 2014 jgc limited and was told its not covered. . I put 6k miles on it since my vehicle purchase. Current odo 64,441. My daughter cant safely drive my vehicle since the seatbelt is currently a dress with all the extra slack.

Seat Belt problem #64

Seat belt stopped retracting. Plastic guide looks cracked.

Seat Belt problem #65

Passenger seatbelt won't retract.

Seat Belt problem #66

Seat belt will not retract.

Seat Belt problem #67

My driver's side seatbelt will not come out in order for me to strap it on. It's locked up and will only pull a short way out of the mechanism. The vehicle had been parked at work and would not allow me to put the seatbelt on. I tried different things to see if it would work- started the car and put in gear; turned car off and got out and back in; even tried pulling on it without sitting in the seat - nothing worked.

Seat Belt problem #69

Driver side seatbelt is not rolling up. . . The seat belt is not adjusting to original position. This creates a safety issue in case there is an accident and the seat belt fail to do its job.

Seat Belt problem #70

Drivers side seatbelt suddenly no longer retracting. Appears to be due to a cracked belt guide. Jeep dealership quoted $900+ for repair and another local shop quoted $600+ - repair requires replacement of the entire belt assembly. I've scoured the internet and have found a mass of others who have reported the same issue dating back several years. This should absolutely be an open recall - I cannot legally nor safely operate my vehicle and the replacement cost is astronomical being out of warranty. Help!.

Seat Belt problem #71

Driver side seat belt will not retract. Does not function as should to keep driver safe in event of an accident. Jeep has approx 50,000 miles on it. Vehicle was stationary when issue occurred. Driver parked and removed seat belt. Seat belt would not retract any longer.

Seat Belt problem #72

My front driver side seat belt will not retract.

Seat Belt problem #73

The vehicle was taken to miami lakes automall (16600 NW 57th Ave, miami lakes, FL 33014 (305) 455-3540) where the vehicle was diagnosed and the contact was informed that the front driver and passenger side seat belts need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted however no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

Seat Belt problem #74

Driver & front passenger seat belts will not recoil & do not provide adequate restraint for occupants.

Seat Belt problem #75

Driver side seat belt will not retract rendering it useless in the event of a collision. Only 23,000 miles on the vehicle.

Seat Belt problem #76

The front passenger seat belt is not retracting and is a safety hazard. Research of the NHTSA's database of complaints show this is not uncommon and is under current investigation.

Seat Belt problem #77

Seatbelt retractors in both front driver and passenger seats failed. This is known to be a common problem with the Grand Cherokee. Dealer wants customer to pay $800. 00 plus dollars to repair each. Ridiculous when it's a known issue.

Seat Belt problem #78

Seat belt wont retract drivers side front, seems like plastic piece has cracked or broken and prevents the retraction from happening.

Seat Belt problem #79

Driver side and passenger seatbelts fail to retract. The plastic guide on the b-pillar mounted d-ring is cracking on driver side and is cracked on the passenger side.

Seat Belt problem #80

Passenger side seatbelt stopped retracting and also will no longer relax at the lap. Took into Jeep dealership in bakersfield, CA. I was told the cost would be $500, I told the service dept to order and I was snapped at. . . I was told they could order said part but she, the tech didn't know when it would arrive, due to covid-19. She appeared to not want to order, so I said I would get it fixed elsewhere. I have moved to utah and have not yet taken it in. Now that my driver's side is just starting to act like the other side, I will be taking it somewhere quickly.

Seat Belt problem #81

The upper seat belt plastic guide cracks during routine use, preventing proper retraction of seat belt. The seatbelt remains slack on an occupant resulting in improper fit.

Seat Belt problem #82

Locking (female) part of rear seatbelt mechanism broke. This makes it hard to release the locked seatbelt for a passenger in the back seat. This is dangerous if the person needed to escape the vehicle in an emergency.

Seat Belt problem #83

Passenger side seat belt retractor failed making the seat belt not useable and creating a safety issue. Cannot use the passenger seat because of this issue.

Seat Belt problem #84

The right front seat belt will not retract properly. The thick plastic guide in door pillar is cracked and pinches against seat belt. It is a safer issue because there it cause too much slack against user's chest.

Seat Belt problem #85

Seat belt not retracting on both the driver's side and passenger's side.

Seat Belt problem #86

D right height adjuster for passenger side seatbelt broke and will not all the seat belt to retract.

Seat Belt problem #87

Passenger front seatbelt will not retract. They dealership is telling me it's $500 to fix because I'm at 76,000 miles. This is a safety issue and it needs to be addressed. This is beyond dangerous.

Seat Belt problem #88

The driver's side seat belt just stopped retracting one day. There was no crash or event of any kind. I've verified online that this specific complaint is very common and essentially leaves the driver with no seat belt or a very loose seat belt.

Seat Belt problem #89

Drivers seatbelt and middle back seat wont retract.

Seat Belt problem #90

Passenger front seatbelt will not retract and does not adjust to different size passengers.

Seat Belt problem #91

Seat belt mechanism no longer retracts on driver side. As a result, the seat belt will provide no safety benefit in a crash.

Seat Belt problem #92

Driver seat belt won't retract. Upper shoulder harness guide has cracked and is pinching the belt keeping it from retracting. This is a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 54,000 miles. This is a factory defect and should be covered as a safety. There is not replacement part you have replace the whole seat belt assembly at a huge cost.

Seat Belt problem #93

My drivers seat seatbelt will not retract.

Seat Belt problem #94

The seat belt does not retract back into the plastic seat belt guide. The plastic guide is cracked from normal usage over time. The seat belt will not lock up to help save a person's life if there is an accident. With the seat belt the way it is, it acts more like a lap restraint on a children's amusement park ride. It is alarming that this has not been fixed by Jeep based on how serious of a safety issue this is and how many people I have talked to have the same issue with their Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Seat Belt problem #95

Seat belt tensioner have several hairline cracks on them (driver and front passenger). The passenger's side tensioner finally broke and pinched the seat belt and restricted the seat belt from retracting into the retractor in the side housing. We did not know the seat belt had a problem till one day my wife got in the car and went to put her seat belt on. She put the buckle in and the seat belt never retracted into the wall to properly fit her across her chest. A Jeep dealership replaced the seat belt assembly ($329) plus $125 for labor.

Seat Belt problem #96

Tl the contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the front driver's side seat belt did not retract. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to burtness Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (located at 1421 w main st, whitewater, WI 53190, (262) 473-3072) where it was diagnosed that the seat belt assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 120,000.

Seat Belt problem #97

Manufactures seatbelt failure in my Chrysler Jeep Grand Cherokee both front seat belt have became non-operational while traveling on a hwy in yellow stone, wy. On June 24, 2019, both front seat belt became non-operational. They no longer retract or stop when tested. Two years ago my curbside rear passenger belt fail to release trapping my daughter in her seat. I was forced to cut her free and replace the entire mechanism. I have searched online and found hundreds of people complaining about the same problem. My Jeep is currently unsafe to operate until I buy and install two new front seatbelts. This will cost the average american over a thousand dollars to repair. Many will just drive unsafe automobiles due to the outrages cost.

Seat Belt problem #98

On our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee the plastic seat belt guide, on the passenger side has cracked pinching down on the seat belt rendering it not usable. The seat belt will expand out, however it does not retract in due to the pressure from the broken piece. The seat belt will not stop the passenger in a sudden impact and has enough slack that you can easily make contact with the dash and steering wheel. This malfunction occurred while stationary.

Seat Belt problem #99

Safety issue as the passenger seat belt will not retract.

Seat Belt problem #100

Driver seat belt stopped retracting. Had to pay over $500 for repair. Moon roof started leaking, after two trips to the dealership, had to pay $750 to have it replaced.

Seat Belt problem #101

Driver side front seat belt no longer retracts back in causing the shoulder belt to lay in pile on my lap. Dealer said whole assembly including some air bag sensor(s) need to be replaced. Parts are $400 alone. Vehicle has less than 70,000 miles on it.

Seat Belt problem #102

The front passenger seatbelt all of a sudden started to not retract. It came to a point where the passenger would strap in the belt and they would have enough room on their lap for an additional 2 people in order for belt to feel secure. When I finally got it to retract back in, I couldn't get it out again. In order for a passenger to sit comfortably while wearing the belt, they would have to recline the seat all the way back. I reached out to 2 different Jeep dealers in my area and received a quote for about $540. 00 before taxes. I was also told if my vehicle was under 60,000 miles, I could have gotten the work done for free. My luck right?! it is ridiculous that I have to pay about $600 for something that is an apparent issue for a lot of other Jeep gc owners. There should be an open and active recall for this as it is a safety issue! to make matter worse, my driver seatbelt feels like it is also on its way out because it is slowing retracting after I take it off. I love my Jeep, however, the company needs to get their act together and realize that this a serious issue that can and will result in serious injury or death due to a faulty seatbelt retractor that should be broken after 5 years!!!!!.

Seat Belt problem #103

Middle rear passenger seat belt does not retract when the belt is released. You have to feed the belt all the way back into the seat and then it is still slightly loose. This is not even covered by an extended warranty either. Since the belt will not retract and tighten correctly I'm afraid to use it until I get it repaired. I have a car seat in the back but we can not use the middle seat belt for our baby until this is fixed.

Seat Belt problem #104

Passenger side seat belt tensioner/retraction mechanism broke, drivers side is on its way out. Car has 40k miles on it. 700 per side to fix out of warranty. Should be recalled. This is a major safety concern. Will never buy from fca again unless this is recalled/remedied.

Seat Belt problem #105

On our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee the plastic seat belt guide, on the driver side has cracked pinching down on the seat belt rendering it not usable. The seat belt will expand out, however it does not retract in due to the pressure from the broken piece. The seat belt will not stop the driver in a sudden impact and has enough slack that you can easily make contact with the dash and steering wheel. This malfunction occurred while stationary, and has not been resolved by fca.

Seat Belt problem #106

The passenger side seat belt will no longer retract which means it cannot protect the occupant in a crash I called the dealership to schedule a repair. The dealer stated it was out of warranty and to call the Chrysler help line. I did, the supervisior anthony stated it was a mechanical part and out of the warranty by mileage and time. I asked if the airbags were also out of warranty. The man said that's ridiculous. I stated what reason other than a manufacturers defect would cause this he said he couldn't speculate. I said me neither since the whole assembly has to be replaced because it doesn't come apart. Which, in my opinion, would put the responsibility back on the mfg. To recap - a safety component that is legally required to be used and has no reason for being inoperable other than mfg defect was not going to be covered. And they did recall work on the occupant restraint control module while I was there. Honda and others warranty safety components forever.

Seat Belt problem #107

Seatbelt retractor faulty could not secure seatbelt around driver side of seat which if an accident occurred, no restraint to hold in passenger. Yes vehicle was inspected by the dealership and replaced for $527. 50. There was no warning or problems prior to failure of the seatbelt retractor.

Seat Belt problem #108

Seat belt fails to retract rendering it useless. The plastic cover on the loop at the b pillar has cracked and binds on the seat belt strap. The part is not replaceable without replacing the entire assembly. This has affected both front seat belts. The vehicle has not been in any accidents or incidents which have stressed the seat belts.

Seat Belt problem #109

Driver's side seat belt non-functional and will not retract. Front passenger's side seat belt is starting to show similar issues. Driver's side plastic piece cracked/broken worse than passenger's side up near where seatbelt goes into pillar. Vehicle was stationary when driver's side seatbelt failed.

Seat Belt problem #110

We took the vehicle in for a recall on the transmission electronic shift lever. We ask the technician to check the front passenger seat belt, as it had locked. We have owned the vehicle for three years and it has just a little over 25,000 miles. The technician indicated the seat belt retractor was working and would need to be replaced. This is a significant safety mechanism that I feel failed in a short period of time and therefore must have had a defect. Jeep sells the idea of the safety rating of it's vehicle but for a seat belt to fail in a three year period of limited use is placing the consumer at risk.

Seat Belt problem #111

My 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee driver's side seatbelt broke while putting it on prior to starting the vehicle and leaving my residence . The seatbelt is backordered nationwide and there are no "after-market" parts. This is currently not listed as a recalled part. I am currently without a functional seatbelt. The broken part is the plastic piece that the seatbelt feeds through. I was told that the part would take anywhere from a week to several months to arrive.

Seat Belt problem #112

Both front seat belts are broken, they will not retract.

Seat Belt problem #113

For both the driver and passenger front seatbelts, the upper hanging (belt) bracket which attaches to the height adjustment feature has cracked. The driver side is more severe than the passenger side, rendering it useless as it prevents the belt from properly tensioning/retracting. This issue was noticed last week during a trip to northern nevada area where temperatures were at a low of below zero degrees (f), and after driving on dirt roads (described by bureau of land management as roads accessible to passenger cars).

Seat Belt problem #114

Takata recall: driver seat belt will not retract properly as it should, must be guided with hand to bring it back to original standing position. Not covered by dealerships or extended bumper to bumper warranties.

Seat Belt problem #115

I have 60k miles on my Jeep, and no dealership will replace the plastic top loop part on the seat belt. Both are cracked which causes my seat belt to not retract. The dealership and the maintenance both agree they have never seen anything like it. They stated I'm not covered by warranty and won't replace it. Both front ones went out. Jeep just lost a customer.

Seat Belt problem #116

Chrysler will not cover a malfunction in their seat belts. They are directly responsible for seat belt not working and will not cover their parts under any warranties leaving me to drive around with a non-working seat belt. If the issue was because of my doing I would be more willing to pay to have it fixed - the problem is their plastics break without notice (picture attached). I have a barely 4 year old car and the seat belt is already broken and have gotten no help from any Jeep dealership. I was under the assumption it was federal law to mandate a lifetime warranty on seat belts since it is a safety issue.

Seat Belt problem #117

The seatbelt, after being pulled out for buckling, will not retract back into the holder.

Seat Belt problem #118

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the front passenger seat belt failed to retract properly when buckled to secure the passenger. The seat belt was loosely connected when locked into the buckle. The dealer (colonial south Chrysler Jeep and Dodge, 42 state rd, dartmouth, MA 02747, (508) 984-1900) indicated that the vehicle would need to be scheduled for diagnostic testing and repair. The dealer and the manufacturer indicated that the vehicle was excluded from NHTSA campaign number: 14v643000 (seat belts, air bags). The contact was uncertain if the vehicle would be repaired by a dealer. The failure mileage was not available.

Seat Belt problem #119

The passenger side safety belt became jammed while driving. My passenger was trying to release the belt because it became painful. I had to pull the vehicle over and assist my (adult) passenger to try to get the safety belt released. Once we were able to free the belt it would not retract back or latch properly. My passenger moved to the back seat to use the safety belt for the remainder of the drive. This Jeep has also completely saturated me with gasoline and shut down a service station. The gasoline soaked my hair, face, and body. As a result through the state of vermont I received an extended warranty from mopar to relieve any concerns I may have about safety of the vehicle once the fuel system was replaced. Chrysler and mopar have charged me 100. 00 deductible to repair a faulty safety belt. It should be mandatory that Chrysler repair the safety belt at no charge. Not only did it put my passenger in jeopardy, how effective are the belts in my vehicle if one is already broken after only 3. 5 years. The dealership refused to show me how much the repair cost. I am opening a case with the bbb in addition to filing this safety report. My passenger's shoulder and neck were sore as a result of this incident but no serious medical situation occurred. It could have resulted in a fatality if an accident were to occur.

Seat Belt problem #120

Driver seatbelt does not retract to tighten on driver while driving or stationary. Serious safety issue! additionally, none of the controls on the right side of the steering wheel work ever; cruise control, park assist, lane departure warning, etc.

Seat Belt problem #121

Front seat belt does not retract due to a cracked plastic guide located at the top of the piller. This causes fraying of the belt and pinches the belt so it will not retract. This is a major safety issue as the belts are useless.

My 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee has been at beaver county Dodge Chrysler Jeep since 5/5/2015. It was taken in for stalling issue, odometer adding excess miles, touch screen radio going black, seat belts that do not tighten and other various recalls. My Jeep has not left their parking lot since 5/8/2015 I called today 5/22/2015 and it is still not finished they stated. I have paid an entire month on my lease and I have not driven my vehicle. The service department has not made one attempt to fix my Jeep and I am not sure when I will ever get it back at this point. The dealership and fca have been giving me the run around since August 2014 about fixing these problems that they state simply cannot be fixed at this time? I have been having these problems for 9 months now and the dealership and fca keep telling me that they have no resolution to my problems.

Seat Belt problem #167

The recall (p67/nhtsa14v-643) passenger seat belt. Chrysler has advised for months that part is not available. However they continue to produce 2015 models with an apparent resolution to the problem. This is a dangerous situation. . . . One is reluctant to have someone ride in passenger seat. Some threatened punitive action s/b taken the NHTSA to expedite resolution, I. E. Supply me with comparable loaner vehicle at no charge until part is available. In any case, you are the experts here and hopefully can get some response from Chrysler. Thanks for your time. . .

Seat Belt problem #168

Incident: while operating vehicle, visual display screen went black (no data). Computer attempted reboot and displayed a vehicle phone requires service message. Simultaneously, a service air bag and driver seatbelt unbuckled warning visual and audible displayed on the instrument panel and would not shut off. Computer continued to attempt rebooting. History: the repeated rebooting of the computer has been occurring several times a month since it was purchased in June 2013. Three dealer attempts to repair have failed to correct the rebooting. Dealer has not replaced any hardware, reportedly only reloaded software. A search of the internet regarding these issues display page after page of related problems with this vehicle.

Seat Belt problem #170

As I was driving the car the seat belt and air bag warning lights came on, but the seat belt was buckled. The warning said driver seat beat was unbuckled and the air bag system warning light came on with a warning message. Brought car to dealer, who informed me that the parts are back ordered for a month - what does that say about the part.

Seat Belt problem #171

During a trip of approx 250 miles, after 4 hours of driving the vehicle exhibited numerous alarms as follows; "air bag system requires service", "drivers seatbelt disconnected", "front passenger seatbelt disconnected", and "vehicle phone requires service". At all times both driver and passenger had their seatbelt on, positively connected. The vehicle would randomly repeat the chimes as if the alarms were coming in repeatedly. After approx. 1/2 hour, all alarms reset. 2 days later on the return trip, about 1 hour into the trip the same problems as listed above repeated itself, except it will no longer reset. Presently vehicle, upon startup goes through the above mentioned alarms with the seatbelt light, and airbag light constantly on. After researching this problem on Jeep forums for the wk2 model, their appears to be number failures of the orc module for this vehicle. My vehicle has not been analyzed by Chrysler at this time, but a service date is scheduled. Currently as stated by a Chrysler employee, there are 400 orc modules backorderd for this year vehicle.

Seat Belt problem #172

Alert came up stating airbags need to be serviced. Then alert came on saying drivers seatbelt not fastened (it was buckled). I pulled over and put the car in park. Turned the engine off and restarted. Alerts came back on. Also came up with alert that onboard service/emergency phone needed to be serviced. Took to dealership and they said it is the orc module. The part is back ordered and I am concerned about driving the car for several weeks without functioning airbags. Also, not sure if there is an issue with seatbelts given the alert.

Seat Belt problem #173

Purchased a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee laredo in June of 2013. Have experienced no problems with operation throughout first 10031 miles driven. Departed on extended vacation trip at end of may. After travelling 824 miles, air bag light came on with alarm and dashboard notification advising to have air bags serviced immediately. Shortly thereafter, the seat belt alarm activated with the bell warning, advising that the driver side belt was not engaged, when it was securely set. This condition would continue throughout each driving day. I have now traveled over 3400 miles, experiencing the same annoying, and unsafe condition, including the cruise control now turning off without warning. I have checked with several dealerships, only to be told that this problem could not be identified. There remains 3000 miles to be travelled to return to my home. I do intend on meeting this situation head on through my dealer with Jeep.

Seat Belt problem #174

Airbags system failed and rendered car unsafe to drive. Passenger airbag disabled even when passenger was in the passenger seat. At the same time adaptive cruise control failed while being in use which potentially could result in a crash. Drove 5h hours home and then dropped the car at the dealer. Issue connected with failed orc module. Numerous similar incidents reported by other drivers on internet forum. Failure always results in loss of aribags, seat belts pretension, adaptive head restrain and adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning system.

Seat Belt problem #175

On a recent long trip (500 miles each way) a computer malfunction popped up while driving. The vehicle's phone called for service, followed by the airbag light and seat belt indicator went off. I pulled into a Jeep dealer right before closing and the told me the issue was in the airbag control module somewhere but it couldn't be fixed easily and that the parts were on back-order. The car is drive-able but the airbag system is inoperative. I have since spoken to the dealer in my home-state and confirmed this is a common problem popping up on the 2014 model year Grand Cherokee and that even replacing the module was a guess at best as to what the problem was. So long story short I have a brand new vehicle with less than 10,000 miles with a malfunctioning/inoperative airbag system that the dealership says may or may not be fixable.

Seat Belt problem #176

1. Allegedly repaired two weeks earlier, the "ocr," an airbag sensor, failed. This part apparently is located under the front passenger seat. "service airbag system" was displayed. 2. On Monday, may 26, 2014 a seat belt warning appeared on the electronic display and a chime rang for 10 minutes or so. Both the driver and the passenger in the front seat were belted in. 3. On Monday, may 26, 2014 the cruise control became inoperative. The electronic display showed "cruise control unavailable. " in the past the forward collision warning (fcw) has shown phantom alerts, telling me to "brake! brake! brake!" even though there no vehicles or objects in front of the Jeep. At other times, the fcw showed no alert even though another vehicle suddenly appeared in front of the Jeep.

Seat Belt problem #177

Traveling at highway speed numerous warning messages and warning chimes started to go off. Created distractions to driving and it appears that air bag and seat belts stopped functioning intermittently. Cruise control also failed. Vehicle already serviced on all prior recalls two months ago. These issues are new starting on 5/23/2014. Dealer appt is scheduled for 5/26/2014. In past, also reported issues with transmission shifting and hvac. Not a well tested vehicle. Far too many dangerous issues with vehicle. Hope NHTSA can investigate issues.

Seat Belt problem #178

While starting up my Jeep Grand Cherokee the air bag warning light came on with a system failure and that it needed service. About 2 minutes after that my drivers seat belt light came on telling me it was not latched (though it was) and it needed service. Then about 30 sec later the acc/fec system failed and a warning came on. When I took it to Chrysler fairoaks Dodge in chantilly that night they looked at it the next day and told me a module was bad (orc filter?) that controlled the airbags and everything else was effected because of that. Trouble is there is no part in stock for repair and they want to keep my car for weeks while waiting. )I bet Jeep is still making new cars with the part so why no part for my car? anyway, I was at Jeep to pick up a rental since it would be so long and another Jeep Grand Cherokee 2014 pulled in with the exact same problem. Very odd I thought and worth reporting. Maybe Chrysler is hiding something here and more is wrong with their Grand Cherokees that they own up to. (especially since the part is in such short supply which is odd) perhaps a recall may be in order.

Seat Belt problem #179

On may 9, 2014 my husband & I were driving on the freeway when all of the sudden the seat belt & airbag lights started alarming. I immediately referenced our vehicle guide and followed the instructions, contacting the dealership right away. My car was evaluated 3 days later and I was informed that my entire airbag module was non-functional and needed to be replaced. It has now been a month that I have been driving without functional airbags because the part is apparently on back order at Chrysler. Not to mention the fact that I was told that there is no way to disable the alarms while awaiting the fix, so I have to drive with the distraction of constant "dinging" everywhere I go. This is a serious safety concern! in general, this vehicle has been a pain since I purchased it!! three recalls in one year, a tire that needed to be replaced just after purchase (pretty sure it had a hole when we drove it off the lot), and now this. I definitely would not purchase this vehicle again.

Seat Belt problem #180

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the rear drivers side seat belt latch would not lock and secure the passenger. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the seat belt needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 24.

Seat Belt problem #181

While traveling home from a family vacation at about 40 mph my seat belt light started flashing saying that the driver and passenger air seat belt was not engaged along with the lights and dinging alarm saying that the air bag is in need of service, this has not gone off and the dinging is constant. I called and set up an appointment at the dealership and waited 4 hours for them to tell me that they did not have parts needed to repair the issue that it was on back order (at least 1 1/2 weeks) but would not be providing a rental car since the car was still drive able and that they would call when the part was in. I am very upset because I am in the automotive industry and know that this is a safety concern/ risk. I have also been experiencing issues with my transmission. I regret making this purchase.

S10 appropriate handling- letter to the secretary from constituent re copy of a letter to fiat Chrysler chief executive officer sergio marchionne regarding a Jeep cherokee safety recall. For months the parts were not available for recall #14v643000. In November 2014, the consumer was able to get one of the recalls rectified only because someone did not show up for the appointment. Also, the consumer experienced a catastrophic transmission failure. Updated 08/03/15.

Seat Belt problem #184

I not only did I have problem with the seat belt. I have a problem with my dash board the is a recall and that has been since 02/2020 and it still hasn't been replace. Not only that I had to replace brakes rotor caliper on all four tires when I brought the car it had 23,599 miles and when I replace them the miles 31,00 miles. I was working them but social security told me I couldn't work and get benifits. So I had to quit the job. How I am I suppose to pay $728. 11 car payment and insurance. And pay for repairs to. I got the car 08/31/2018.
