The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that when the vehicle was turned off, the electrical settings reverted to the default setting. After restarting the vehicle, the settings failed to switch back to the preferred settings. Additionally, the rear hatch failed to stay in the upwards position. The contact stated that while attempting to raise the hatchback to the upward position, the hatch would slam down instead. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 86,000.

2 Hatchback/liftgate problem

Failure Date: 08/17/2015

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep cherokee. When opening the liftgate, it failed to latch intermittently. The contact stated that NHTSA campaign number: 15v393000 (structure) exceeded a the reasonable amount of time for the repair. The dealer stated that the parts were unavailable. The manufacturer was not made aware of the delay. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 15,000.
