My vehicle has active collision protection. The system is awesome however it seems like when you apply the brake the vehicle assumes your depth perception and senses will avoid a collision. I think the vehicle computer and sensors should still make the ultimate decision to stop the vehicle. Also, should there not be a sensor for temperature in this system to take into account the possibility for ice and snow? thank you.
My 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee is equipped with sensors that can activate the braking if the car detects a collision. It seems as though these sensors are too sensitive and cause the car to slam on the brakes when there is no need for it. I have experienced my car slamming automatically slamming on my brakes in the middle of the road seemingly because I was making a lane change and the vehicle in front of me was not moving. Lucky there were no vehicles behind me otherwise it would have surely caused a severe accident! this was on a busy street in the middle of the day. . . Very dangerous!.
Tl-the contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at 65 mph, the front alarm braking sensor illuminated and the vehicle would come to a complete stop. The approximate failure mileages was 15,000. Aw.
