general problems of the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee - part 2

I continue to have service shifter and check engine issues with my vehicle, which have been ongoing for the last three years. This has occurred while stationary, in motion both on city/neighborhood streets or on the highway. It's happened while turning and in park. When the check engine and service shifter lights come one, in many cases the car goes into limp mode and I lose the ability to accelerate, which causes a severe safety risk if it occurs while turning or going down the highway. Many times my dashboard will go completely black for seconds and my wind shield wipers will turn on. My car has been in the dealership for service related to this issue for 180 days over the past three years and they are unable to resolve the issue. They have replaced the steering control module, the tcm, the telemax communication module, the transmission, and the shifter, but the issue always comes back. Over the last six months the issues have gotten worse and the vehicle is getting more unsafe to drive. Based on my research there are a significant amount of these issues and fca should take action.

I have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee laredo. While traveling down the highway at approximately 65mph, the entire dash began to blink in and out, all kinds of error symbols flashed, I lost power steering and the car switched itself in to neutral – this resulted in an accident. This car has been in and out of the shop for the past several months. Every time it looks like it fixed, the car’s computer seems to do as it pleases. I lose driving power, it switches itself in neutral or the dash throws error symbols. I am at a point where paying for constant ‘repairs’ and insurance is becoming way too costly. I do not feel safe riding with my family in this car!!!.

Last five to six weeks the lights on the passenger right side back and front goes completely out back and front then come back on two hours later I have a appointment at the dealership to see what's going on.

Tipm has failed resulting in battery drain due to fuel pump relay constantly powered on, wiper function, loss of backup camera, air system and ability to turn the car off or secure door locks properly even when battery is disconnected.

Tipm, shift module and ticm causes the Jeep to serious malfunction. All alert lights on the dashboard and shifter light up , wipers come on, vehicle will stop and is unable to drive ,motor accelerates , cooling fans are activated on high all at one time and vehicle will not shut off. When the vehicle does shut off then it will not restart , while driving at any time. Vehicle acts as if possesed. !!!!!!!!! this vehicle is not safe. Everyone knows this including fca.

Tl the contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle would not immediately start, and the start button had to be pushed several times. Additionally, the vehicle would stall while driving and backfire. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer whitten brothers Chrysler located at 10701 midlothian turnpike, richmond, va 23235, who was unable to diagnose the cause of the failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 85,000.

My car goes from drive, to park, to neutral or reverse with little to no touch of the gear shifter. This is a huge safety issue, as recently assuming I was still in drive mode, noted that the gear had actually shifted to neutral. Had it shifted to reverse instead, my children and I could have been badly hurt, likely found to be at fault, consequently also facing financial anguish. Also, the gear shifts while in motion, which is even additionally dangerous being that I live in a city where the highway is my primary method of traveling.

The fan for heat and air conditioning suddenly quits working. The fan motor makes a roaring noise. The wipers will only work on high. Our Jeep only has 60k. We have already had an oil leak and had to replace the water pump. Also the check engine light is on code says it's an exhaust leak. We are very disappointed in the over all quality.

Arrived home 10:15pm dry roads and weather. Backing Jeep into driveway and went to full throttle back to hit the garage structure and door. Shifted two drive to move out into the driveway and went to full throttle forward, across the street, through the swale into a vacant lot and hit the avista power transformer box knocking its off the base and pulling the 7,000 volt power cables out. Jeep then stopped and I backed it back into the driveway and stopped. Avista crew arrived and safed the transformer. Resulting damage was $3,007 to house and garage door, $16,275 damage to front/back/undercarriage on Jeep and about $4,880 to replace the avista transformer. Car rental now 60 days at $42. 00 per day. Estimated total is now $26,682.

When first starting the car it would stumble & stall & stop. After a number of starts it would keep running if I kept my foot on the gas pedal. Finally it was running so it could be driven home, but at times it would stumble & stall, at at time almost no acceleration. I had to keep 1 foot on the gas pedal to keep the car running. The car was taken to a repair shop, where it remains. The trouble was diagnosed a fuel pump failure. Previous model Jeeps have had the same problem and were recalled.

While driving donw a main road the gas pedal suddenly stopped working and would not engage. I could not get the car to move forward but it was still running. I pulled the vehicle over to stop and turn the car off. Turned the vehicle back on to see if the gas pedal would re-engage, I was able to drive 100ft and it happened again. I then "rolled" into an empty lot on the side of the road where smoke was noticed coming out of the hood. I popped the hood but did not open it and called 911. While on the phone with 911, a loud pop was heard under the hood, sparks were seen and the car caught fire.

Out of nowhere, my 2015 Jeep gc decelerated, all the lights on the dash came on and the following messages popped auto park disabled, service electronic throttle control, and ended with service shifter. The truck would not accelerate in the middle of a highway. I took the vehicle to the dealer where they cannot seem to find the problem. The windshield wipers turned themselves on along with the check engine light and the hazards.

The radio conceal will reset after a few short minutes as if the vehicle is being started for the first time. The first time it was noticed was after it was stationary and I returned back to my vehicle.

Most of the time when starting the vehicle, the uconnect infotainment screen does not boot up or display anything (screen stays black) for up to 5 minutes. This is a safety concern as the backup camera will not display until the the uconnect system has booted up. Many other feature are also unavailable, but the backup camera is the major concern. This problem has been ongoing for quite some time now.

Twice I have been driving and the vechile shuts down on me once in the middle of a busy road and I can't put the car in neutral, I can't put flashers on, nothing will work. It took 2 hours and magically everything came back on with a check engine light. We went to the dealer they had it for a week said the shifter module needed to replaced and the battery , $2000 later we take it home and same thing happens again. Now it's a different module that needs to replaced. Take it home and it happens a third time. They basically say they don't know and they can't duplicate tbe problem. We take it home and everything works for 3 months until today when the whole problem reports itself while I'm driving. It's been 5 hours and I still can't get the car to even turn a light on. It's completely unsafe the way it just turns off in the middle of driving I am terrified to keep driving it. And I'm tired of paying money for a problem no one can solve. This seems like it happens to others and should be a recall. I can't believe nothing can be fixed. It's completely unsafe and unreliable.

Vehicle drove fine but when turned off, the dash lights stayed illuminated. Wouldnt turn off even after a few hours. Next morning it wouldnt start and gave a full host of "service system immediately" prompts. Sounded like it would begin to turn over, but would shut off immediately. Started again after 8 hours but still had check engine light on. Code came out to be "lost contact with ecu".

�tamara recall� when the car is on the touch screen do not work. The touch pad won't allow you to change the settings for the air conditioning, the radio , the seats settings are anything. So the only thing it allows you to do is listen to the radio on one channel. I'm paying for siri and the touch pad won't allow me to switch to it either.

The vehicle radio/navigation system blacks out. System blacks on and off and when reset- navi udefined blinks on and off and system states it's in compromised for cyber security. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership 2x and will be dropping the car off tomorrow and leaving until they figure out what is wrong with it. The radio also tries to set itself to various stations. I have uconnect access and I have not paid for the service. I located yelp in the vehicle yesterday- the vehicle will be dropped off and I am demanding a resolution and I do plan on taking further steps with uconnect and Jeep/cryhsler. The vehicle was purchased new. It took me a while to determine it was the uconnect as I thought it was my phone. I did not think it was the fact that I connected the uconnect to the phone. I also took my vehicle to 2 Jeep dealerships to check on recalls.

The vehicle was being parked and from shifting from drive to reverse the vehicle turned off and would not start again for a few minutes. The vehicle showed the service keyless system and the check engine light then appeared.

2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Consumer writes in regards to defective automatic headlight feature. The consumer stated there was also a malfunction with the keyfob.

Car says service shifter on the dash, shifter won't light up and I do not have to press the button in the knob to put car into gear, usually you would have to press the button.

Ive had this car in the shop 4 or 5 times for extreme overheating costed me 4500 so far and never fixed.

Drivers gauge screen intermittently flashes �service transmission� immediately followed by tire pressure alert. This happened several months ago and started up again last week. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. Looks like an electrical glitch. I took my car for servicing this last weekend and they were not able to find any error codes on the diagnostics. I took a video of the malfunction and showed it to the service staff at the dealership. Dealership states they would have to install a scanner and test drive it however the glitch isn't reproducible but rather spontaneous and intermittent. Vehicle has 1000,000miles on it.

Jeep does not start in a. M.

I had the electronic power steering module go out & also had to replace radiator after doing research I have seen 1,000 of other customers complain about the same issues and they not be covered by warranty due to basic warranty expired. If this is a common issue with the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee why has this not been reviewed for recall??.

On 10/21/19 my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited mount functioned. While trying to slowly back up my car in a garage the vehicle seized all dashboard lights went out including back up camera screen. Only one light appeared before impact with a pole which was the service transmission light. My foot was off the gas when it jolted backwards into a large pole. This has happened multiple times where the car would seize or accelerate into first gear. It has done this when my foot wasn't on the gas peddle aswell. I contacted safford Jeep in springfield va three times about my concern. Nothing was corrected now I have been in an accident with very bad vehicle body damage. Chrysler has done nothing and will not give me any answers on the satus of their investagation. This has now cost me out of pocket because they want to draw this out as long as possible.

The gear shifter is malfunctioning. The lights on it are not lighting up to show what gear I am in and the dash shows "service shifter" sometimes the dash will state n but I will be reversing. I told the dealership about this when I took it in for the current recall on the shifter. This issue is something different. They told me they fixed the problem. The same day it was doing it again.

1- surround sound is auto turn to stay on. When turn off no any effects. 2- some noise come in driver side from dash or engine room. This noise like air sound from air pump every 10 to 25 sec with synchronous small some effect in rpm.

The interior light will stay off and will not come back on as well as the dash board lights will go out and not come back on. This will occur when I am driving both day and night. I have take. It to the dealer multiple times and they claim they don't see the issue.

The contact started the vehicle again, placed fuel in the vehicle, and drove home. The contact shut off the vehicle and heard an unusual noise. Also, a burning odor emanated from the vents and flames appeared around the dashboard. The headliner and carpet were burned. The fire department extinguished the fire. The contact was awaiting an insurance evaluation. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 8,500.

The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact observed that the forward collision warning sensor failed without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on two occasions. The first time it was diagnosed that the main sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The sensor was repaired, but the failure recurred. After the second failure, it was diagnosed that the radio failed and needed to be repaired due to it being the brain of the system. The radio was replaced, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 600.
