1 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 02/27/2021

Tl the contact owns a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while pulling into her driveway, the vehicle was unable to be shifted into park. The contact stated she noticed the check engine light was illuminated. The contact stated that the instrument panel showed that the vehicle was in drive not in the selected gear. The contact stated she was unable to shut-off the vehicle by pressing the on/off button. The contact shifted the gear to neutral and the engine turned off. At that moment, several warning lights illuminated. The indoor light and headlights remained on for three and a half hours until the battery was drained. The contact checked the battery and noticed that the positive terminal was not connected to the battery. The vehicle was towed to jim shorkey Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram fiat (13230 route north huntingdon, PA 15642) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the main fuse needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 37,300.

2 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 10/10/2020

Tl the contact owns a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the driver's side headlight was inoperable. The vehicle was taken to jamieson motors inc (115 us-2, chinook, mt 59523), and was diagnosed that the headlight assembly needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the part was not available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided a case number. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.

3 Headlights problem

On most newer cards the dashboard is digital and back-lit. Some of these cars also have very bright daytime running lights. What I have seen is that some owners inadvertently turn off the auto lights, and think they have lights on because they can see where they are going, but they lack any rear lights because the lights are not technically on. I've seen this in Jeep vehicles as an example. The only way to know your lights are on in a Jeep for example is a little green headlight icon, that is easily ignored. Something more needs to be on the dash when lights are in the off position at night.
