Had the abs module repaired due to recall last week. Next, I have had 3 instances of the accelerator sticking when shifting gears and, this never happened before this service.
I purchased a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee on [xxx] unaware that the vehicle was subject to a federal safety recall and stop-sale order. The recall (NHTSA 24v-838 / manufacturer 94b) was issued on November 7, 2024, for a defect in the abs control module that may disable the anti-lock braking system (abs), electronic stability control (esc), and cause unintended vehicle movement even while stationary. A stop-sale order (vir 2024-11-14) was issued by stellantis on November 14, 2024, prohibiting the sale or delivery of affected vehicles until repaired. Despite this, the dealership sold me the vehicle while the recall was still open and unrepaired. In the months following my purchase, I began experiencing issues with the electronic throttle control (etc). On June 15, 2025, I paid $770 out-of-pocket for etc sensor repairs after a loss of throttle response. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, but this defect may be linked to the broader electronic issues cited in the recall. No warning lights appeared in advance. I have been driving this vehicle daily without knowing it could malfunction in a way that puts myself and others at risk. I only learned of the recall on June 22, 2025, when I searched the VIN through NHTSA’s database. This has caused emotional distress, financial harm, and a complete loss of trust in the vehicle’s safety. I am seeking appropriate accountability for the illegal sale of this recalled vehicle and want to ensure others are not put in similar danger. My brake light light up, check engine light comes on and my stability control system does not work. My car won't electric start as the check engine light is illuminated. I took the vehicle to the dealership and they could not help me as there is no fix in place.

The failure mileage was 36,000.
While driving, all the light on the dashboard come on. When this happens the speedometer is not working the windshield wipers come on. The emergency brake light is on, the car shifts out of gear and the turning signals don't work and the hazard lights won't work. This is all happening at the same time. I'm unable to inform people on the road that I'm in distress because my hazard light won't work I don't know how fast or slow I'm going. I can't inform the people on the road that I want to change lanes. Then after a while all the lights on the dashboard would go out and the check engine light would remain on for maybe two days and than go out. This problem has been going on since January I have paid thousands of dollars attempting to get this problem fixed. My car has been back and forth to the same Chrysler central Ave dealership where I purchased my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee to which I'm still paying for.

The throttle body wiring was replaced, and the codes were reset. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, and it was suggested that the vehicle needed to be retested. The vehicle was repaired again. The contact stated that after retrieving the vehicle from the dealer, several unknown warning lights illuminated, and the vehicle accelerated independently while depressing the brake pedal. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled while coming to a stop. The contact made a left turn into a parking lot and the vehicle independently accelerated. The contact stopped the vehicle and had the vehicle towed back to the dealer where the vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The approximate failure mileage was 25,000.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while starting the vehicle the pcm warning light illuminated. The dealer was contacted, and the dealer stated that the vehicle was previously serviced under NHTSA campaign number: 18v332000 (electrical system, vehicle speed control) and that the contact had to pay out of pocket for all future repairs. The manufacturer was contacted but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 70,000.
The speed control malfunctioned. The vehicle was in drive not moving when it started accelerating on its own. This malfunction could cause serious injury or death . There was no indication of a problem prior to the failure. I shifted to park and shut off the engine.
The uconnect display on my vehicle is phantom pressing buttons, going to different screens, turning things on and off as I drive. Yesterday, I was put in a extremely unsafe situation with my vehicle where the uconnect screen turned off my blind spot detection. I was unaware until I attempted to merge into another lane and hit another car!!! I called uconnect and Jeep and they told me they won’t do anything because I’m not the first owner of the car and that it can’t be replaced but for 1,000 of dollars. I feel like this should be repaired by courtesy because this is a safety issue.
Afternoon 28/11/2022. On i275 north near exit 50. Tha cruise control turned on and the car started speeding up. I almost ran into the back of a truck in front of me. I applied the brake and the cruise control turned off. Also the radio won't stay on station and occasionally the seat heaters come on by without touching any controls.
I purchased my 2018 Jeep cherokee right off the dealership lot in lynnfield MA in August of 2018. I then have had on going issues. Starting with strange squilling sound coming from back of vehicle, this was never found reason by technician but they replaced engine air filter jume 2020, then my heater wasn’t working in Dec. 2020, replaced motor blower with wheel, then may2021 my vehicle just shut down as I was driving on the highway to work at night no prior warnings beforehand, lucky no one was hurt towed in and no start and transmission was stuck no fuel pressure, dtc related and shorted fuel pump. Replaced module fuel pump level unit. Now just October 29,2021 my vehicle is not starting I jumped the battery and lights come on but vehicle won’t start. Dealership I purchased vehicle from won’t contact me back so I towed the vehicle to them and still no response. I’m very disappointed in Jeep I don’t feel safe or that my vehicle is not dependable and for all the money I keep putting into it I should have a dependable car.
Vehicle unexpectedly accelerated on its own while I was braking. Had I not been breaking, I would’ve gotten in a car accident. Even letting off the brake slightly caused the vehicle to jerk forward quickly and aggressively until I slammed on the brake again. This is the 2nd time this has happened now.
Driving on the street -jefferson blvd. On my way home and my excelarator pedal was stuck and could not stop the car and hit large escalade in front of me, thank god for that. His car was barely scrathed and mine ended up $6,500 in repairs less $1,000 deductible. It was quite frigthning. I was not hurt.
I was sitting outside of my garage door waiting for it to fully open, I had my foot on the brake and the rpms of my car maxed out and my car went forward through my garage and into my living room. I never once touched the accelerator and tried braking with both feet and my car would not stop. There are burn out marks left throughout my garage where you can see I was holding the brake. My car was completely totaled, my seatbelt also did not lock up during the incident.

I backed out of my garage to run an errand, decided to run back into the house for a sweater. Put the car in park (it was still outside the garage facing the open garage door). Hopped out and went to go back into the house with the car door open. The Jeep started rolling forward. I jumped back in, put on the break, tried to shut the door and it sped forward accelerating. It went through the open garage, it jumped up two stair steps, the tires and wheels crashed through the top step floor, jumped up out of the hole it made, lurched forward and crashed into the house wall and was stuck in between the furnace wall on the right and shelving on the left. The engine was still revving at this point and I cut the engine by pushing the ignition button. I then thought the airbag was going to hit me, but it did not deploy. I decided I needed to get it out of the wall, so I started it and shifted back into reverse, but it wouldn't move. So I shut it off and then started to panic that there might be an explosion as we have gas lines, electrical, etc. There. The front doors were pinned shut. So I jumped in the back and was able to get out through the rear passenger side door. I ran out into our yard as I was afraid something might explode. I have found several other examples of this on your website as complaints, etc. In just a few minutes. There are many more I'm sure and the new 2020 models you have 3 similar complaints already. Do something to hold Jeep accountable. This has been going on since 2009. I had no idea when I bought this Jeep.
Parking my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee laredo in a parking lot. My foot was on the break and I was getting ready to shift Jeep into park when the Jeep suddenly accelerated forward hitting a building. Took Jeep to dealership and they have been trying recreate this. I have opened a ticket Chrysler/fiat and waiting for them to contact me. I am afraid to drive the Jeep now.
See note to insurance company I received my 2018 Jeep back yesterday 7/10/19 after months of waiting for farmers to regain possession after stolen and recovered in mexico and repairs to be done. I drove the car home from bumper to bumper last night. When I tried to drive the car home from the gym today the window on the passenger side stating going up and down by itself. I was going 45 miles an hour. When I tried to stop it with the switch the transmission locked up and all power died. The car skidded 10-15 feet toward a intersection. I almost went through the windshield. Lucky I am strong enough to stop myself. I am requesting you that you total this vehicle return my down payment and make payment to Chrysler in arrears. This vehicle is unsafe.
The upshifter paddle driver control on my Jeep srt trackhawk, along with many other 2010+ fca vehicles equipped with paddle shifters, performs the opposite function (downshifting) when vehicle is in motion- causing the gears to lower one or more, the engine to rev up, the engine to engine-brake, and ultimately the weight of the vehicle to shift aggressively to the front unintentionally.
On multiple occasions, while traveling at varying speeds, the entire dashboard and infotainment system have shut down for anywhere from several seconds to several minutes. The engine has not shut down, but there has been a noticeable lack of power following these events. This has occurred while maneuvering through a parking lot, traveling on a highway, through a downtown city street and on country roads. The events have occurred at varying times of day and during varying weather climates. The initial occurrence was in June 2019 while traveling on the highway. The vehicle has been to the dealership multiple times for service for this issue, yet the problem continues to occur. They have replaced a backup battery to the start/stop, as well as the button, in efforts to locate and solve the problem.
Recall: u65/NHTSA 18v-332 just bought it and found a recall on v-6 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited. I haven't driven yet. Please send me the certificate to get it fixed.
The vehicle was stopped and placed into park with the engine running. I exited the car and it accelerated in reverse in a fast speed and struck a parked vehicle. I was caught behind the open door in panic and was very fortunate that I was not knocked down and run over by the wheels. I am adamant that the transmission was placed into park and not in reverse. I was shocked at how fast the car was traveling. The incident was witnessed by my husband and my brother in law. My husband later talked to a man that was nearby and was told that he had the exact same car and year and that the same thing happened to him. An investigator was sent out and determined that there was a faulty part in the vehicle. The man lived in the state of colorado which is where it happened. My husband forgot to get his name. This happened in an RV park on flat terrain, private property.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the safety hazard warning light illuminated, and the vehicle was making abnormal sounds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the dealer related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 18v332000 (electrical system, vehicle speed control). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 7,858.
I was stationary(in "park' mode), sitting in my vehicle making a bank transaction at the drive thru at wells fargo located at 505 round rock Ave, round rock, TX. Suddenly the Jeep accelerated on it's own, I pressed the brakes and it wouldn't stop. I traveled maybe 15-20 yards braking, before I crashed into the walk up atm. Exact cause? unknown at this time.
On occasion, when the accelerator pedal is pushed all of the way to the floor, it would get stuck under the floor mat. This has happened on more than one occasion. It is very dangerous when it happens because the vehicle is at full throttle and the brakes will not overcome the engine. I've resolved the problem in my vehicle by removing the floor mat. I called Jeep cares and warned them of this problem and they said to take to a dealership to have it looked at. They've known about it for a couple of weeks. I'm reporting this with the hope that you will look into this and get a warning out before someone gets injured or killed.
