While driving 65 mph on the highway, the Jeep lost all acceleration. I was able to get to the shoulder and the car said to put it in park. I did and then was unable to shift to any other mode. The brake pedal was hard as a rock and would not move. The air then turned hot. When I turned the vehicle off and back on - everything seemed fine but losing power on a major highway was extremely dangerous. No warning lights or messages. No other symptoms prior to this instance. Car is currently at independent service center and they cannot determine what is wrong.
While at the dealer to have a lightbulb changed, I was told that I needed to have my oil adapter changed. My Jeep only has 33,750 miles on it and has only been serviced by the Jeep dealer. While I was there there were 2 other Jeeps in with the same problem. Also, my brother-in-law's brother (who lives in another state) also had to have his oil adapter replaced on his Jeep Grand Cherokee. Does Jeep have a defective part installed in the Grand Cherokees? if not, I find it odd that so many people (that I do not know personally) have had to have the same part replaced on their Jeep Grand Cherokees.
5. 7 hemi exhaust manifold heat shield bolt break off because the manifold warps with heat. This can cause the manifold to leak after a while. And make a nocking nose the dealer said it a know problem and flew with the 5. 7hemi between 70000 to 100000.
While driving, my 2019 Jeep grand cherokee laredo began smelling like burnt plastic, then a red warning triangle came on in the speedometer saying, ‘stop safely vehicle shut off soon’. At the same time, the engine warning light, battery warning light, and skid warning lights came on. I pulled over and when the car was examined the red plastic housing around the terminal that can be used to jumpstart the battery had melted. The vehicle is being towed to the dealer for a repair.
The water pump of my vehicle was leaking from the weld of the engine causing anti-freeze to leak. This caused an issue with possible overheating since it was not leaking from the weep-hole. It could have gone unnoticed and I would like to know if there is a recall for this issue.
While in drive, accelerating from a complete stop the car will lag as if the engine is going to shut off. Additionally, the car will be at a stop and driver will attempt to accelerate and car will not recognize it is in drive. The car will notify the driver on the dash to shift the car into park.
I have a few different issues with my car. The transmission has been shifting roughly, there’s a loud clunking sound when I put it in reverse, and I'm experiencing slipping, hesitation on acceleration, and sudden bursts of power. The car has been starting to jerk a lot. The engine has lost power while driving, which forced me to pull over on a busy highway at night with my kids in the vehicle. Fortunately, I was able to roll off the freeway, turn off the car, and after several attempts, I managed to drive home. Also my vehicle sometimes have a difficulty starting. I’ll press the start button and no response. I’ve also been dealing with electrical problems. My screen constantly freezes, goes blank or turns off. At times I can’t connect my Smart devices. My ac has broke, repaired and having problems again. I previously took my vehicle to the dealership to address issues with the ac. I mentioned these problems, and I was told they would be checked. However, an employee later said they couldn’t find anything wrong. When I spoke to another employee, he admitted he wasn’t aware of the issues. It’s very frustrating dealing with these significant problems, especially since I can’t trust my vehicle and always feel scared to drive out of town. All of this has been an ongoing issue. I have a few friends same model and year and they received recalls but I didn’t. This is my only vehicle, I paid a lot of money for it and I shouldn’t have to be dealing with this. Please help me.
2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Consumer writes in regard to NHTSA safety recall 22v-426.
After starting and functioning normally for a ~ mile, a warning came up “stop safely - your vehicle will shut off soon”. I was on a road with no shoulder and had to keep going. In less than a minute, (1/2 mile) power steering failed, all other electrical devices, brake lights, dash lights, speedo failed shortly thereafter. Engine and trans were barely functioning. I just managed to manhandle ( power steering had failed) it into a parking lot when it shut down completely. There is no way my wife (car owner & usual driver) could have steered it to safety. Once into the lot, couldn’t electronically unlock doors or put it in park or even turn it completely off. It was literally electronically dead. Had to climb over seat to retrieve pets and perishables from the back as the tailgate open function also failed. Towed to davis Chrysler Jeep in yulee, florida. No word on root cause. I assume it was catastrophic batteries failure without any warning or prior symptoms.
I was sitting at a drive thru when my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited 4x4 started to malfunction. A service shifter light came on, then the service engine light, then the service airbag light. All the lights and windshield wipers went on. No matter what I did lights and wipers kept malfunctioning. My car stalled and I wasn’t able to move it. I turned my car off, turned it back on and again. It let me drive a couple feet but the steering wheel was stiff. Again it stopped moving, wouldn’t allow me to go any further and only made the noise as if I was accelerating. All the lights and windshield wipers kept going crazy. I turned my car off and on again. Lights and wipers never stopped. I was able to drive another couple feet but then the 4x4 locked. The shifter switched from drive to parking and it was stuck on parking. The emergency neutral lever and button locked. My Jeep was going no where. The cables that connect to the battery were extremely hot and could have been a fire hazard. The vehicle was also saying service transmission continue on d, do not shift or turn off engine but the vehicle automatically set it self to parking. My entire car locked down. I could only turn it on and off. I had to get it towed to the nearest auto repair shop. Their analysis computer was unable to communicate with the vehicle. Luckily I was in a drive thru and not driving on the street or freeway. I could have been a very dangerous/deadly situation elsewhere. No previous accidents, issues with the Jeep. It all happened suddenly.
Minor leak in evap system. Unsure if malfunction is due to a bad sensor.
Small evap leak code has been on my car for almost 12 months. Jeep dealer is not able to identify a fix because the code is so broad and could be triggered by many different issues. Check engine light cannot be cleared due to evap leak.
My vehicle (2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee) was only 1 1/2 years old and was involved in a head on collision. I was driving about 45mph when I was struck by 4-door chevy silverado (driver-to-driver collision) that was attempting to make a left turn on green, so only going about 3-5mph. The truck's steering wheel airbag deployed, but none of my Jeep's did. My Jeep's entire front area was crushed, and driver's side experienced extensive damage as well; resulting in my Jeep being totaled. Everyone at the scene of the accident was shocked that my Jeep's airbags did not deploy. As a result, I busted my head on the steering wheel, and 6 weeks later, I still have a knot on my forehead. I will never purchase a Grand Cherokee again! I am completely amazed there are zero recalls!.
Recently submitted a claim. Had to tow to my dealership and was just notified that the transmission is also malfunctioning. I have notified my dealer if these exact recalls at this website for this make and model and they are telling me it does not apply to my vehicle. Bizarre. Please help. I've only had this car 8 months.
I was driving on the interstate when all service light came on and steering wheel locked up and the car began to power down. I almost crashed into a 18 wheeler because the steering wheel would not turn properly. I was able to pull over and the car would not move, switch gears, stop or start. My vehicle was serviced by Jeep twice in the past two weeks.
Vehicle transmission is very spotty . . It jerks and hard to get from one gear to the next. There's a major issue with the transmission. This occurs everyday.

I was driving home and the Jeep switched to neutral on its own and flashed "shift to park" on the screen. I had to roll to the side of the road, put it in park and turn it off. I am scared to drive it. I have kids. If this happens on the highway we will be hurt.
While driving straight at approximately 45 mph on a the 3 lane road full of traffic vehicle suddenly clunked loudly and violently shifted from high gear possibly fifth or sixth into first gear with the rpms at over 7000 this caused me and my family to lunge forward at which time I momentarily lost control of the vehicle. I was able to gain control and steer the car towards the side of the road and had to slam the shifter into park in order to stop. While stopped the vehicle remained at 7000 rpms until I pushed the off button of the console.
I got into my vehicle and when I tried starting it would not turn on the engine. The only thing that would illuminate was the speedometer area. The audio unit would turn on off and then on and then off. I tried about 10 times and would not start the engine. The vehicle was parked in my driveway when it happened.
27 days after the purchase of vehicle battery went completely dead and needed to be replaced. On the 3rd day after this repair, " check engine" light went on.
Vehicle lost power on highway @ 65 - 70 mph. Operator was using cruise control to increase and decrease speed in heavy traffic. Operator pressed the cruise off button and the vehicle lost power to idle and would not accelerate.
