Parking Brake problem

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while attempting to park the vehicle, upon shifting the vehicle into park, the vehicle failed to engage the parking brake and continued to roll forward. After 15 minutes, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. Later, the contact stated that again, upon shifting the vehicle into park, the parking brake did engage; however, the vehicle failed to recognize that the shifter was in the park position, and a message displayed reading "please shift to park," after which the contact became aware that the vehicle was unable to be turned off. In a further incident, the contact stated that upon shifting the vehicle into drive, the vehicle failed to shift into drive, with the dashboard indicating that the vehicle was actually in neutral. Afterwards, the vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 8,200.
