2 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

3 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 03/27/2026

Unknown what actually occurs but the entire car shuts off while driving. It has happened to me twice in traffic. Once no warnings, the second time the tire pressure sensor fault flashed went away and then the entire car just shut down while I was driving. I had my child with me and was a scary moment could’ve cause a serious accident or potential death. Car was stuck in the road for over 30min before I could get it to restart and move to a safer location.

4 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 03/21/2026

I was driving on the highway when all of a sudden my gas pedal stopped propelling the car and the engine seemed to be off. I looked at the dash board and saw that the car was indicating it was off and that I needed to step on the brake and hit the ignition button to turn it back on. I barely had control of the car but was able to pull off to the side of the road. I then had to wait several minutes for the car to respond and turn back on. This has happened in the past to me with this car but this is the first time I knew I could report it here. This is a terrible vehicle and I’ve had nothing but safety issues with it since I leased it.

5 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 03/10/2026

High voltage battery (hybrid battery) has excessive drain when parked. This was noticed after completing the 68c recall. In any temperature it drains 8-12% over 12 hours. I noticed it happening when it was 65-75 degrees, so not hot and not cold. I brought it in for a repair once, it spent 3 weeks at the dealership and was claimed fixed but it's still doing it. It is known problem on the forums as well after the 68c recall. No warning lights.

6 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 03/02/2026

On February 28, 2026, while preparing to leave our home with our two children in the vehicle, we experienced a critical vehicle malfunction. Upon attempting to start the car, all dashboard warning lights illuminated, including transmission error, “service needed,” and “automatic emergency braking system needs service. ” the battery warning light was also on. The vehicle would not start initially. After eventually starting the car, we temporarily placed it in neutral and pushed it out of the garage, during which the brakes functioned normally. The vehicle was briefly driven and appeared operational, but due to ongoing safety concerns and multiple recalls, we parked it at the top of our driveway. On the following day, the vehicle would not start again. We arranged for it to be towed to the dealership. On March 2, 2026, when the tow truck arrived, the car’s position prevented loading onto the truck. Multiple jump-start attempts failed initially, then briefly started the vehicle, but it immediately shut off again. We placed the vehicle in neutral using the manual override and tested the brakes, which initially showed stiffness but were operational. While attempting to move the vehicle to allow tow truck access, the brakes suddenly failed. Despite pressing the brake pedal fully and brake lights being illuminated, the vehicle did not stop and rolled uncontrollably into our garage. Consequences: •garage property damage: approximately $11,000 •personal injury: my father-in-law fell while the vehicle rolled out of control •vehicle remains at dealership with an open case, but the situation remains unresolved safety concern: this incident raises serious safety concerns regarding the reliability of the braking system and vehicle electronics. The vehicle became uncontrollable while brakes were applied, posing a direct risk of injury or death to occupants and others. We fear that similar failures could occur under normal driving conditions, including highway speeds.

Waited for of a month from the time I called for service for Jeep to address recall high-voltage battery fire risk NHTSA campaign: 25v741 / manufacturer recall 68c upon leaving the service department at salerno & duane Jeep the issue was unresolved. Service tech was expecting the customer to pay for an added oil change due to the recall which should be the responiblity of Jeep.

10 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/22/2026

Battery failure upon diagnostic at dealer per recall 68c. I had no issues with the car prior to bringing it into the dealer for the recall. The car has now been at dealer for over 11weeks. Neither dealership nor stellantis is providing update on eta for when battery will be ready and recall addressed.

11 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/19/2026

There were no warning or check engine lights prior to the incidents below. Car was just serviced Nov 3rd 2025 for safety recall 25v-472 and 25v-576. 1st incident Dec 21, 2025: driving 70mph on major busy interstate in MA and all of a sudden vehicle lost all power. It shut off completely. No lights, no warning. Had to coast over to r shoulder and wait several min before power restored. This was very scary as traffic was heavy. 2nd incident occurred Jan 19, 2026 and was terrifying: I was driving on a curvy mountain 2 lane road at night. This road does not have much lighting. There are no shoulders or pull over lanes due to guardrails. Out of nowhere with no warning. Vehicle lost all power (including steering and all lights). Could not get out of road as everything shut off and steering locked. I had no lights (both internal and external) I finally got flashers to work after a minute or so but had to sit there dead in the middle of the road on a curve praying no cars came around curve. Was able to restart after about a minute and a half! called dealership today and they said there is no recall for “loss of power” and we will be taking it in for a $200 diagnostics test.

12 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/09/2026

For the second winter (2 out of 2) this vehicle has entered form mode - fuel oil refresh - and fails to operate as a hybrid car until- if last year was the indicator - spring and warmer weather. Ostensibly due to running in electric mode for too long, form is an engine and fuel safety measure. Since this vehicle was under recall 68c until earlier this week and had not been operable in electric mode at all since September, this excuse fails demonstrably. It has been in form since the recall was completed. Having a Jeep in winter that is not operable in electric mode in snow and ice when the potential exists that gas mode doesn't function and the 24 "reserve" miles are not available in electric mode, poses a significant risk. Secondarily, in last winter and this, hybrid use is unavailable for months.

13 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/04/2026

Engine shut off while driving on the highway. I was able to pull over onto the emergency lane. Headlights went off (night driving) along with the heated seat and steering wheel, but the radio remained on. After stopping I notice the emergency park break was on. Once I shut the off the emergency brake I was able to resume driving. The dealership was not able to duplicate or find the problem. They hope the update for a current recall problem will fix it.

14 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 12/23/2025

Local dealers are unable to resolve the recall on timely basis due lack of parts, lack of loaner or rental cars. Weather, sense of urgency. This is a serious safety recal of potential battery fire and suddenly stop while in motion. Need to do something!.

15 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 12/17/2025

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 25v741000 (electrical system) and 25v766000 (engine); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The local dealer was contacted, and the contact requested to trade the vehicle, but the request was denied because the vehicle was under recall. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and offered to reimburse the contact for vehicle rental expenses within a specific price range, but the price range that the manufacturer provided could not cover the rental expenses of a vehicle that could accommodate the contact. The contact had not experienced a failure.

16 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 12/12/2025

Vehicle recall for potential fire risk if charging vehicle battery, was informed by email from Jeep that the vehicle is not safe to drive. No solutions given.

17 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 12/06/2025

2 current recalls on my vehicle 68c and 78c are life threatening and the vehicle may catch on fire. Visiting the dealer today 12/6 - there is no solution for either. This vehicle is unsafe and the manufacturer is not providing any solution or alternative. I would expect either a solution/ a loaner or a buyback.

18 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 11/26/2025

The vehicle has an active safety recall related to a potential high-voltage battery fire. The recall warns that the battery pack may contain damaged cells that could lead to a vehicle fire under certain conditions. The manufacturer instructs owners not to recharge the battery and to park the vehicle away from buildings or other vehicles due to the fire risk. The defect puts my family and others at risk because the vehicle cannot be safely charged, cannot be parked near structures, and may pose a spontaneous fire hazard. This significantly limits the ability to drive or store the vehicle normally. The issue was present before I purchased the vehicle, and the recall was active at that time. The problem has been confirmed by the manufacturer’s recall documentation. I have contacted dealerships and the manufacturer, but no remedy appointment or software update has been provided, and a replacement high-voltage battery has not been scheduled. Warning messages and restrictions were communicated through the official recall notice. There have been no repairs performed, and the safety risk remains unresolved.

19 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 11/26/2025

I am formally requesting immediate review and investigation into multiple unresolved safety defects involving my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, VIN 1c4rjyc64p8786688. Jeep has acknowledged a hybrid-battery fire-risk recall affecting this model, yet there has been no available remedy or repair timeline, leaving the vehicle unsafe for regular operation and posing risk to myself, my family, and others around the vehicle. Primary defect — high-voltage hybrid battery fire risk (unresolved) my vehicle falls under an active hybrid-battery safety recall involving potential internal failure of the high-voltage traction battery capable of causing thermal events or fire while parked or in motion. Despite this being a critical safety hazard, Jeep/stellantis has: provided no repair or replacement timeline offered no interim mitigation beyond advising parking precautions provided no alternative transportation or safety guarantee this leaves me with a vehicle that cannot be safely used, parked near structures, or charged, effectively removing the primary functional design reason I purchased a 4xe plug-in hybrid. Additional unresolved safety-critical issues in addition to the fire-risk recall, my Grand Cherokee 4xe has experienced: steering component issues, including instability and safety concerns while driving suspension-related defects, including risks tied to coil-spring recall applicability loss of hybrid system functionality, severely limiting drivability and efficiency multiple disruptions causing loss of use, travel restrictions, confidence in safety & reliability these combined failures demonstrate systemic integrity concerns that extend beyond the battery recall alone. Why NHTSA’s involvement is needed because Jeep has failed to present a repair path or a timeframe — and because this defect can escalate to vehicle fire, immobilization, or sudden failure while driving — I believe there is sufficient cause for expanded review and enforcement action.

20 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2025

On approximately November 15th 2025, I took my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe in for a routine oil change and tire rotation to fred martin super store in barberton , ohio. Upon completion on the service I was told that there was a recall on my vehicle and I was not to park in my garage or plug the vehicle in due to risk of fire coming from the hybrid battery. I immediately called the service department at fred martin super store in barberton ohio to see if this recall was accurate. The service department rep did confirm verbally that there was a recall and again not to park in my garage or plug the vechile in due to fire risk. I was told the parts were not available to fix the problem at this time. This vehicle is not safe to have on or near my property and is not functioning the way it is intended. I have contacted Jeep multiple times and filed multiple grievances to ask for a vehicle buy out or a lease termination with out penalty and have been denied. This repair has not been done or remedied in a timely manner, and is still unsafe to have or drive.

21 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 11/09/2025

Vehicle shuts off and puts itself in park at intersections while pulling across traffic. Multiple warning lights. 4x4 faults, power steering faults, auto start/stop faults etc. Happened once just after I let off the brakes to start moving and lost power brakes.

22 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 11/04/2025

An overheating engine causes the truck to shut down completely, block the power steering engine, and become undrivable. Electrical and harness assembly problems the dealership inspected the truck and attempted to repair it, but the same issues have recurred and are nearly causing an accident while driving on a highway.

23 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 11/02/2025

This vehicle is a danger to drive, and there is no information on when they will fix it. I have taken the battery in to fix it before and it took over 2 weeks to repair, and more problems with more recalls. The engine is said that it can cause fire like the battery. This vehicle is not safe to have and continues to be a severe safety problem for me and my family, two of the recalls right now they have no idea how to fix. It is not fair that I am paying for this vehicle and I can't even drive it.

24 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 10/31/2025

My Jeep hybrid is under an active safety recall with no available remedy. The manufacturer has instructed owners not to charge the hybrid battery system, which means the vehicle cannot be used as designed. I am continuing to make loan payments on a vehicle whose primary advertised functionality has been disabled due to a safety defect. I have contacted Jeep/stellantis repeatedly through their recall assistance lines and have been transferred, disconnected, or told to call numbers that do not resolve the issue. No timeline or interim remedy has been provided. The vehicle is materially impaired, and the lack of a fix poses safety concerns and financial harm to owners. I am requesting NHTSA intervention due to the absence of any manufacturer solution or support.

25 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 10/24/2025

On 10/24/2025 my wife and daughter were in the vehicle driving to her school. My wife was on the phone with me when she stated the car was reving really high and sounded like it was going to blow up how loud it was. She was driving at about 25-30 mph when the car suddenly jerked and shut off completely, the battery light turned on and the check engine light flashed before it shut off. She was able to brake and roll to the side of the road. I had instructed her to keep her foot on the break since it was not letting her shift to park. We stayed on the phone as I contacted Jeep directly and get a hold of a rep she said she was able to put it in park and she tried to turn the car on and she was able to turn it on after 10 min. She drove with the hazards on to my daughters school and dropped her off I told her park the car and don't use it until I get home. I got home on 10/26/2025 and the light was off I made an appointment with Jeep for that week 10/31 and they stated they were unable to find anything in the computer for the issue that had occurred instead they saw a issue with my heating and it was pump. I have a case open with Jeep and they have yet to return my call after a week of non stop calling, I emailed stelantis but they stated they cant assist has to be Jeep directly. I would love some help with this as the car has been to the dealership three time for multiple issues and recalls that they stated they did and still show are not done. I have a schduled appointment for the 68c but there is no remedy yet.

26 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 10/14/2025

At engine idle with vehicle parked or driving in heavy traffic, exhaust fumes are entering the passenger compartment. I am not aware of any apparent exhaust leak. The fumes seem to be entering by way of the fresh air intake. I have confirmed CO readings with 2 different detection devices. If the vehicle is moving the readings have been 3-96 ppm. If the vehicle remains stopped with engine running, readings have been +100 ppm. This is a life safety concern. My local dealer had a service appointment over 1 week out 10/22/25. I asked stellantis to escalate the case and have a reference number. # 94485584 I have lost the use of my vehicle and have not received a closer service appointment.

27 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 10/07/2025

Egine stalled 2 times on the freeway.

28 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 09/26/2025

Since purchasing the vehicle in January of 2024 , I have had the same repeated safety issues that the dealership and Chrysler were made aware of . I was told that no other vehicles of my make and model had the same issues so I was not listened to . While driving vehicle has slammed on the breaking system for no apparent reason at different speeds. Last time this happened I was on the thruway doing 65 mph. This has happened over 10 times and has been extremely scary and upsetting. The hybrid system alert has flashed over 30 times and the vehicle has stalled with loss of power. The transmission either jerks or there is a large lag of power -sometimes gas pedal needs to be pinned in order for vehicle to go forward. I have complained to the dealership and Chrysler about the safety issues and how the battery has not work as expected upon purchasing and all the safety issues. I have been mislead by Chrysler on the performance and use of the vehicle. I have asked for a resolution for over a year- lemon law, buy back , but I have to continue to drive an unsafe vehicle. Complaint # 1650529.

29 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 09/16/2025

Vehicle randomly will not shift from first gear to second gear. This has caused very high rpm’s in first gear and I have almost been hit from behind each time. I must put flashers on, pull over, shut engine off and restart to clear the issue! it is very dangerous! it has been to the dealership to be fixed, but they have been unable to duplicate the issue.

30 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 09/06/2025

I am submitting this complaint regarding a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe that has been subject to multiple safety recalls involving the high-voltage battery system and a risk of fire or explosion. The manufacturer, stellantis, issued safety instructions advising owners not to charge the vehicle and not to park the vehicle in garages or near structures or other vehicles due to the potential fire risk. It says "sand from the casting process can contaminate internal engine components, leading to a catastrophic engine failure, which can result in a vehicle fire or an unexpected and unrecoverable loss of propulsion. These instructions significantly restricted the normal use of the vehicle and created serious safety concerns. I have young kids additionally, the recall notice stated that a remedy for the defect was not available for an extended period of time. Despite the seriousness of the defect and the safety warnings issued, the vehicle remained without a repair solution for months. Jeep has now discontinued the vehicles altogether with no solution for the vehicle. Due to these conditions, the vehicle could not be safely operated or used for its intended purpose. The unresolved safety defect effectively rendered the vehicle unsafe and unusable. I am requesting that the national highway traffic safety administration review this matter and the impact that these unresolved safety defects have had on vehicle owners. I believe the situation raises significant safety concerns regarding vehicles that remain in use while a dangerous defect exists without an available remedy. Please let me know if additional documentation is required. I am willing to provide recall notices, written manufacturer communications, and other supporting documentation. [xxx] sincerely, [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] VIN [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

31 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 08/28/2025

Backing into a parking space in reverse the vehicle all of a sudden begins to accelerate forward with the gear selector showing "r" illuminated almost causing me to hit 2 cars parked in front of me. After putting the vehicle in park and reverse again I was able to park and then the vehicle gave a "service hybrid system" warning and then stalled out. I had no issues prior to this and it seems the 95b recall had something to do with it as I had this performed a week prior. It has a stored code for " digital input crash " according to the dealer but they said it is deemed safe to drive. I don't think so.

33 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 08/20/2025

I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding the safety of my Jeep. My vehicle has been to the Jeep dealership approximately five times for the recurring service hybrid system error. Most recently, in August 2025, I received this error again along with a check engine light. Each time this error occurs, I notice that my Jeep drives differently, which raises concerns about its reliability and safety. At present, my Jeep has been at the dealership for approximately 25 days. The dealership has indicated that the issue is related to the 73c code. Despite repeated visits, the problem has not been permanently resolved. I am very concerned about my own safety, as well as the safety of others on the road, particularly because I have been informed that my Jeep is part of the 1% recall group. The ongoing malfunction makes me uneasy about driving the vehicle, and I strongly believe this presents a potential hazard. I respectfully request urgent attention to this matter and a clear resolution to ensure the vehicle is safe to operate.

34 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

35 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 08/18/2025

Two instances: 1) while reversing out of a parking spot, several warning lights flashed at once, including power steering system disabled, service hybrid engine system, and two others - lost power steering. I parked and restarted the car and it drove normally. 2) while in park, the car started but would not shift gears and it would not turn off. It was stuck in this position for 10 minutes until the ignition button finally responded and shut off.
