Table 1 shows one common other fuel system related problems of the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

When accelerating, the car suddenly jerks and stops moving at a consistent speed. This happened multiple times over the last 8 months or so. Sometimes it happens immediately after backing out of my driveway. It has also happened while driving on a highway at high speeds (65mph) where I've nearly been involved in high speed accidents. There was a recall back in November that claimed this was a software issue, however, it has continued to happen. No warning lights come on.
I am filing this complaint regarding an unresolved safety recall (recall 78c) on my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, which has now been open for approximately 139 days without a remedy. This recall involves engine manufacturing contamination that may lead to catastrophic engine failure, loss of propulsion, and potential fire risk. Despite the seriousness of the recall, stellantis has failed to provide a remedy and has given conflicting and unclear guidance regarding safe operation. At one point, I was instructed to operate the vehicle using the gasoline engine only. I was later told stellantis cannot provide technical guidance and to contact the dealership. The dealership has stated they have no clear direction from stellantis. As a result, I have no clear understanding of whether it is safe to operate the vehicle, use electric mode, or rely solely on the gasoline engine. Restricting use to the gasoline engine also prevents use of the plug-in hybrid system, meaning the vehicle cannot be used for its intended purpose, resulting in increased fuel costs over several months. I have also incurred out-of-pocket rental car expenses during recall service. Stellantis indicated reimbursement would be available but has not provided a process or responded to follow-ups. Given the nature of the recall and lack of guidance, I cannot determine if this vehicle is safe to transport my newborn child. At this point, I am concerned with both the unresolved defect and the manufacturer’s failure to provide consistent safety direction, communication, or a path toward resolution.
This vehicle has experienced repeated mechanical and electronic failures since delivery, including hybrid drivetrain faults, heating system malfunctions, and multiple diagnostic repair attempts. The vehicle is also subject to active safety recall 78c, which identifies a manufacturing defect that may cause catastrophic engine failure and vehicle fire risk. The manufacturer has acknowledged that a repair remedy is currently unavailable. The dealership that sold and serviced the vehicle has also recently ceased operations following acquisition by carvana. These conditions materially impair the vehicle’s safety, reliability, and usability.
The vehicle was in hybrid mode. My wife was driving and had slowed to enter a roundabout to yield to another vehicle. When she accelerated and entered the roundabout, the vehicle stalled / shut itself off and flashed service hybrid system. She had to coast to a stop as it lost all propulsion. The vehicle started again after shutting it off and letting it go to sleep by opening the door. This same issue happened while slowing, then accelerating into a roundabout while I was driving a few weeks before in "electric" mode. During this event, it stalled in the middle of the road and was blocking traffic. I had to shut the car off, open the door, wait, then restart it by going to "sport mode" to get the gas engine started.
As the car was driving the engine stopped. Is is on par with their 78c recall for Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. The car as noted by the recall is unsafe to drive after an issue has presented relating to the recall 78c. Stellantis refuses to start an early lease termination.
So we where never notified of the recalls on are vehicle, we found out for are selves. Dealership never notified us of them at the last oil change, and now we are trying to get out of the vehicle.
Subject: formal complaint and request for escalation – 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe trailhawk – VIN [xxx] good day, I am formally requesting an immediate engineering review and reconsideration of the denial of warranty coverage for my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe trailhawk, VIN #[xxx], currently with approximately 3,012 miles. I believe a serious error and injustice has occurred regarding the diagnosis and classification of this vehicle’s failure as “weather related. ” this conclusion appears arbitrary and unsupported by any documented root cause analysis, engineering findings, or formal repair report. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
1 drive train and is available for inspection. 2 vehicle stops and will not move, in traffic. 3 unknown reproduced but happened twice. 4 yes, dealership. 5 no messages or lamps were displayed.
I am submitting a safety complaint regarding my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (plug-in hybrid), VIN: 1c4rjyb69rc714841, due to repeated loss of propulsion events while driving, including during highway merging. On multiple occasions, the vehicle has: shifted into neutral without any driver input and failed to accelerate while merging onto a highway, behaving as though it was stuck in a gear or in a protective failsafe state most recently, while accelerating onto a highway, the vehicle would not respond to the accelerator pedal, forcing me to pull off the roadway. I had to place the vehicle into park, wait briefly, and then resume driving in order to restore propulsion. Twice I had to perform this on the on ramp. Very dangerous! these are the most recent incidents that have occurred, but the issue has happened at least half a dozen times before. Only now, more often. While driving in hybrid mode (on January 17th, 18th with my daughter present; also occurred on Jan 22 (after leaving Jeep dealer and having performed tcm & pcm updates), Jan. 23 & 24) with the hybrid battery depleted (normal operating condition) with no warning lights, alerts, or messages displayed before or during the events the vehicle was taken to an authorized Jeep dealership (safford brown in sterling, va), where pcm and tcm software updates were completed, and the dealer reported “no issues found. ” despite this, the loss of propulsion issue has continued to occur. This condition presents a serious safety risk, particularly during highway merging and acceleration, where the inability to accelerate could result in a collision. The issue appears to be intermittent and does not consistently trigger fault codes or warning indicators. I am requesting that NHTSA review this issue for potential investigation, as it involves unexpected loss of drive power while the vehicle is in motion. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, danette spruston.
My 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe has been at the dealership service center since [date] due to the recall identified as NHTSA campaign 25v766000. The component involved is the engine, which is still installed in the vehicle and available for inspection upon request. The recall notice states that debris inside the engine may cause engine failure, resulting in loss of drive power or an engine compartment fire. Safety risk: this issue puts my safety and the safety of others at risk because the vehicle could lose power while driving or catch fire unexpectedly. Confirmation of problem: the problem has been confirmed by the dealership, and they advised that the remedy is still under development. Inspection: the vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer’s authorized service center, but no repairs have been performed because there is no available solution. Warning signs: there were no warning lamps or messages prior to the recall notice. I proactively brought the vehicle in after learning about the recall. Current situation: I have been without my primary vehicle for an extended period and am currently in a rental provided by Jeep. However, I have received no timeline for a fix, nor any indication if Jeep will replace or buy back the vehicle. This indefinite delay is unacceptable given the severity of the safety risk.
Vehicle is a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (phev) subject to safety recall 78c (25v-766), issued November 2025. The recall states the engine may be contaminated with sand from the casting process, which can cause catastrophic engine failure, vehicle fire, and unexpected unrecoverable loss of propulsion. No remedy has been developed or made available by the manufacturer as of April 2026 — more than five months after the recall was issued. The manufacturer has confirmed in writing that an active stop-sale and stop-production order is in effect on all affected 4xe models due to this unresolved defect. Despite this, the manufacturer has simultaneously deemed the vehicle "operable" and denied a buyback request, requiring the consumer to remain in possession of a vehicle that cannot legally be sold due to its unresolved safety status. The manufacturer's written target window for the remedy was February–March 2026. That window has passed with no repair available and no updated timeline provided. The consumer has been without full use of the vehicle since January 2026 and has been paying out of pocket for rental transportation. The defect has not been confirmed by a dealer because no remedy exists for dealers to perform. No crash, fire, or injury has occurred, but the consumer has chosen not to operate the vehicle due to the known fire and catastrophic failure risk documented in the recall notice itself.
Vehicle is subject to recalls 68c (fire risk) and 78c (loss of propulsion). Manufacturer states remedy is 'not yet available. ' I am instructed not to charge the battery and to park away from structures. I cannot safely park the vehicle at my home or use the electric propulsion I am paying for. The vehicle presents an immediate fire hazard and risk of catastrophic engine failure on public roads.
While driving, my vehicle has intermittently lost power without warning, creating a serious safety hazard. The loss of power occurs unexpectedly while the vehicle is in motion and is not associated with any driver input, weather, or road conditions. The issue has occurred on more than one occasion. The first occasion in March 2025. The issue appeared to be temporarily resolved but later recurred, indicating the underlying problem was not corrected. When the loss of power occurs, the vehicle does not respond to acceleration input and behaves as though propulsion is cut off completely. This happens suddenly and without warning while driving. This condition creates a dangerous situation, particularly when driving in traffic or at speed as was the case on 12/4/25 when driving 70 mph on the freeway, the second time the issue occurred for us. The car was immediately brought to the dealership on 12/4/2025 and remains there today. On the first occurrence the dealership attributed it to low battery charge and replaced both batteries. The dealership has performed inspections and diagnostics including:battery testing and replacement, wiring and harness inspections, software updates to vehicle control modules, extended road testing. Despite these efforts:the issue has not been permanently resolved, the dealership has stated the concern could not be duplicated, the dealership has indicated that fault codes were not always present. A star case has been opened, Jeep customer care has been contacted regarding this issue, and a field technician has been requested to come to the dealership to assess the vehicle. Despite repeated service visits I am submitting this complaint to report a recurring, intermittent loss-of-power condition that may not consistently trigger diagnostic fault codes but poses a serious safety risk for the car occupants and other drivers on the road surrounding this vehicle.
• component/system: the high-voltage battery system in the plug-in hybrid propulsion system is subject to an active safety recall related to potential fire risk. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. • safety risk: the manufacturer has instructed owners not to charge the vehicle near structures and to park it away from buildings due to the risk of battery fire. This creates an ongoing safety concern because normal charging and garaging cannot be performed safely, altering how and where the vehicle can be operated and stored. After speaking with my homeowners insurance, if the home were to catch fire through this vehicle, the claim would be denied because there is an active recall stating not to charge the vehicle. • reproduction/confirmation: the condition has been confirmed by the manufacturer through the official recall notice. The dealer has not attempted a repair because no remedy is currently available. Despite visiting the dealer, the dealer still states not to charge the car in the house. • inspections by others: the vehicle has not required inspection by police or insurance representatives. The issue is acknowledged by the manufacturer as part of the recall, and no repair procedure has been released to dealers. • warning lamps/symptoms: there were no specific warning lamps prior to receiving the recall notice. The issue was identified by the manufacturer and communicated through recall notification rather than a driver-observed failure. The recall notice is the first indication of the problem.
Vehicle: 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe limited issue type: fuel system / fuel gauge / evap / hybrid interaction safety concern: incorrect fuel-level indication, fuel overflow, unreliable range estimation description of the problem: the vehicle’s fuel gauge and range indicator have become inaccurate and erratic. The gauge showed about 95 miles remaining, then dropped rapidly to a low-fuel warning. At the gas station, the pump shut off at approximately 8 gallons, even though the vehicle indicated low fuel. When I manually resumed fueling, gasoline immediately overflowed from the filler neck. There was no gasoline smell prior to this event. After driving away from the station, the remaining range increased, then decreased again, fluctuating by about ±10 miles. The fuel gauge and range readings continue to be inconsistent and unreliable. These symptoms began recently and are getting worse. The vehicle is currently being operated in hybrid mode only due to an existing recall advising not to charge the battery. This issue creates a safety risk because: the fuel gauge may not reflect the true fuel level, overflow during refueling poses a fire hazard, and evap or tank-pressurization malfunction may be occurring. Frequency: problem has occurred on multiple consecutive refueling attempts. Safety risk: fuel overflow, inaccurate gauge, possible stalling or running out of fuel unexpectedly. Dealer: issue reported; diagnosis pending. No modifications have been made to the vehicle.
On 11/28/2025, I received recall notice 68c/NHTSA 25v-741, from fca us llc. The recall affects my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, pih. The recall states that the vehicle is at risk of catching fire, due to damage that may occur to the high voltage battery, during normal vehicle operation, and that there are no remedies for this condition currently available. In addition, owners are advised to refrain from. . . 1. Recharging the vehicle 2. Parking near structures 3. Parking near other vehicles unfortunately, I don't live near an open field, so numbers 2 and 3 are nearly implossible. I contacted the fce recall hotline today, and was told that someone from their "safe parking and rental car" team would be contacting me. This vehicle is leased through stellantis motors. I want a simple termination of my lease immediately, so my wife will again be able to drive her car, safely transport our grandson, and park safely in our driveway. Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated. [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Recall 25v-741 (manufacturer recall 68c) affects my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. The recall notice states that, due to potential high-voltage battery cell separator damage, the vehicle may catch fire even when powered off. Jeep instructs owners not to charge the vehicle and not to park inside garages or near structures. There is no remedy available, and Jeep has stated that remedy identification may not occur until q1 2026, with additional delays expected for parts and repairs. As a result of these instructions, I am unable to store the vehicle safely at my home, since my residence only has attached garage parking. My workplace garage has also prohibited these recalled vehicles from entering due to fire risk. The vehicle is currently kept at the dealership because it cannot be safely stored. Jeep’s interim support is insufficient. They offer only $60/day rental reimbursement, which does not cover a comparable vehicle, and only $50 per rental period in taxes, leaving owners with significant out-of-pocket costs while their leased vehicles cannot be used for an extended period. This places owners in the position of either paying significant out-of-pocket expenses for an unsuitable rental vehicle, or continuing to park, store, or charge their vehicles in ways that contradict Jeep’s fire-risk guidance. While the recall is not labeled as a “stop drive,” the instructions functionally prevent safe use or storage of the vehicle. I am reporting this because the current interim guidance and lack of remedy create ongoing fire risk and practical safety issues for owners with no safe place to store the vehicle and no adequate interim solution.
2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, vehicle bought new in July 2025! 3 incidents of loss of propulsion occurred while city driving from August to October in 2025. Recall 73c performed on oct 22, 2025! on 11/18/25 requested vehicle inspection from mcinerney auto center (troy) per advise from mcinerney dealership (alpena). While test driving had a sever transmission failure which vehicle had to be towed back to auto center. Vehicle remained on lot for 7 days with no repair! towed (aaa) to jim riehl’s friendly (romeo) and determined sever leak from transmission. Fixed with no apparent issue with trans. Vehicle driven in hybrid mode without battery charged from Dec 4,2025 until Jan 19, 2026!!! recall 68c performed on Jan 20,2026. Now we have recall 78c (Nov 2025) with no fix insight!!! this recall is sand in the engine from casting process! this can be a long term problem along with the hybrid battery fire possibility with the previous recalls!!! so, this vehicle is not reliable short term and for sure long term! these recalls are major recalls for a new vehicle. We want a new vehicle or our money back ASAP!!! we want the vehicle manufacturer to call us ASAP!!!.
My vehicle is affected by recall 25v-741 (fca recall 68c), which involves a risk of high-voltage battery fire due to potential internal separator damage. Fca’s NHTSA filing instructs owners to refrain from recharging the battery and to park the vehicle away from structures or other vehicles until a remedy is available. The recall remedy is not available. Fca customer care advised me by phone that the vehicle is “safe to drive in e-save mode unless symptoms appear,” which contradicts the recall notice because the defect can cause a fire without warning or symptoms. This vehicle automatically recharges the high-voltage battery through regenerative braking and engine charging, making it impossible to comply with the instruction to “refrain from recharging. ” during another discussion, a technician also told me that the “stop sale has nothing to do with the safety of the vehicle” and advised me to “drive normally. ” when I asked about the prior cases where vehicles covered by this recall had caught fire, the technician replied, “well, they’re still around, right?” this guidance minimizes the documented fire risk and contradicts the official recall filings. The vehicle cannot be safely used or stored under normal conditions, and no interim solution or transportation has been provided. The dealer stated they were instructed by the manufacturer’s warranty team not to assist and reiterated that no remedy exists. I am reporting the unsafe and contradictory guidance from the manufacturer and the inability to safely use the vehicle while the recall remains unresolved.
This hybrid vehicle is equipped with a battery that can combust and catch on fire. A remedy is unavailable - the car is a safety problem to my family since it can not be charged or housed in my garage. This car was leased for its hybrid options for my travel to work - basically I am paying for a feature I can not use. I also worry about my family driving in it as well. I was never informed by any correspondence from stellantis regarding this recall - it was discovered by my own research from news articles. There is no immediate remedy and stellantis refuses to release me from my lease. This problem was confirmed by the dealership I leased the vehicle from. This SUV is available for inspection at any time.
Hello, I am reaching out regarding a serious safety issue involving my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe under an active recall (78c), which stellantis has acknowledged can cause an engine fire or sudden loss of vehicle function. Despite the severity of this recall, there is currently no remedy available. I have contacted stellantis corporate multiple times and have been met with consistently poor customer service, including being told I am not allowed to open another case because my issue is “irrelevant” due to it involving a recall. I am leasing a vehicle that is not safe to drive, with a known fire risk and no repair solution. I have formally requested that stellantis buy back the vehicle without penalty given the safety risk and inability to use the vehicle as intended. They have refused to accept the vehicle back or offer any meaningful resolution. This raises serious concerns about consumer safety and corporate accountability—particularly when a manufacturer acknowledges a defect but refuses to take responsibility for removing unsafe vehicles from the road.
My vehicle is subject to fca recall #78c / NHTSA recall #25v-766, which identifies engine contamination that may lead to catastrophic engine failure, vehicle fire, or unexpected and unrecoverable loss of propulsion, potentially resulting in a crash without prior warning. The recall is currently listed as incomplete, with the remedy under development and no repair parts available. I contacted stellantis client services to request guidance regarding safe operation of the vehicle while this recall remains unresolved and to inquire about any interim accommodations or support. Stellantis has advised me in writing that no assistance, accommodations, or compensation are available at this time and that I should wait until a remedy becomes available. Given the severity of the risks acknowledged in the recall and the absence of any interim safety guidance or mitigation measures, I am submitting this complaint to document the situation and request review.
My Jeep cherokee 4xe is under an open safety recall for a high-voltage battery defect that can cause a fire while the vehicle is parked, charging, or driving. The manufacturer’s instructions require owners to not charge the battery and to not park the vehicle indoors or near structures. This makes the vehicle unsafe to store or operate. Stellantis has no remedy or repair timeline available. When I contacted stellantis, they refused to escalate the case or provide assistance. The vehicle poses a serious fire hazard, and I am unable to use it for its intended purpose. I am requesting NHTSA review due to the severity of the safety risk and lack of remedy.
On 11/1/2025 my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe lost propulsion in a middle of a left turn do to a recall that was sent to me 4 days prior. The Jeep completely stopped and caused another person to rear end me. The recall has since been fixed but my damages have not yet been fixed. I was in an accident due to this Jeep recall and I now have damage to my vehicle and a ticket from the police for stopping in the middle of an intersection. I opened a case with Jeep customer care 2 weeks ago and haven’t since received any update. I need assistance because nobody is taking accountability or fixing anything.
On 10/19/2025, my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe experienced a serious electrical malfunction. When I attempted to start the vehicle, it became stuck in run mode and would not shift into drive. The vehicle also would not shut off — even after pressing the start/stop button multiple times. The hybrid system remained active, and the dashboard stayed illuminated. The only way to power the vehicle down was to disconnect the 12-volt battery manually. This created a significant safety concern, as the vehicle could have remained running unattended or in an enclosed space. Afterward, the check engine light came on. The dealership later stated they “just reset the ecm,” but no explanation was provided for why the vehicle failed to shut off or shift out of park. This incident indicates a possible defect in the electrical, powertrain, or propulsion control system. It poses a safety risk to occupants and anyone nearby if the issue reoccurs.
Vehicle had recall done for “loss of propulsion” and module replaced. Had vehicle back for 2 days and while driving 55mph, it shut itself off abruptly. Had to find an emergency place to coast to. The display says “service charging system”.
I purchased a used 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (approx. 64,000 miles) from eide Chrysler in waite park, mn on 9/30/2025. On the initial drive home, a “service 4wd” warning appeared. Before I could return for the axle repair, a check engine light for the hybrid system also appeared. After purchase, I also began experiencing exhaust fumes entering the cabin, which is a health and fire concern. At the time of sale, the dealership provided two contradictory recall printouts for the only recall they disclosed—one stated a remedy was available and one stated no remedy was available. I was verbally told the recall had been repaired. This was inaccurate. After the sale, I discovered that my vehicle now has two open NHTSA safety recalls, both with no available remedies: • 25v741 – high-voltage battery fire-risk recall (federal stop-sale order applies). • 25v766 – engine contamination recall that may cause engine damage or failure. These recalls did not exist at the time of purchase, but the dealership never notified me when they were issued. Stellantis only notified me of one recall; I had to discover the second by checking my VIN on NHTSA’s site. The drivetrain warning, hybrid-system fault, and exhaust fumes occurred despite very low mileage after purchase. The vehicle currently has multiple unresolved safety defects, including fire risk and potential engine failure, and cannot be repaired due to lack of available remedies. I have opened a case with Jeep/stellantis (case #: 94881053). I am reporting these issues because the combination of drivetrain malfunction, hybrid-system warning, cabin exhaust fumes, and two unrepaired safety recalls poses a significant risk to occupants and other drivers.
On 7/14/25, while driving 70mph on interstate, vehicle shut off, displayed service hybrid electric system, then came back on like normal. Today, 9/19/25, driving 60mph on highway, vehicle shut off, displayed service hybrid electric system and would not turn back on. I had to come to a complete stop on berm, shift to park, and restart vehicle.
I was driving with my three children in the car (including a newborn) on Monday, September 15th and was in the drive thru at the bank when my Jeep just froze. I luckily had placed it in park but it would neither turn on nor turn off - it was locked and I couldn't do anything to it. Right before it died it said "service hybrid system" and while it was in the weird not on but not off state, the battery icon was illuminated - even though the car was on. I called stellantis for a tow because I was stuck - however they told me if they couldn't get it into neutral they couldn't tow it. After about 45 minutes the Jeep finally allowed me to turn it off and turn it back on, but I was terrified driving it home. My husband took it to findlay Jeep in post falls on Wednesday, September 17th to see what the error code was and they said something about a cooling system error for the hybrid electrical system. We are taking it to dishman Dodge on Monday September 22nd because that is the dealership we purchased from and they didn't have a technician who knew how to work on the hybrid system until then. I am also concerned about the current active recall for the propulsion system that has no current fix. I use this vehicle to carry my children around and now there are multiple safety concerns that can have lead to a fatal accident. I have filed a buyback request from Jeep because we have this vehicle on a lease - fca case #94280851.
Vehicle will randomly downshift on freeway risking unexpected acceleration and potentially causing a crash. Dealership is unable to rectify issue as of 11/04/2025.
A current recall on vehicle reference to the propulsion and no remedy is available.
On 2 ocassions the vehicle failed to execute a stop. The first was going down a mild hill at 20 mpg; I applied the brakes and the car started to slow and then the brakes felt like there was a shudder and released, and then engaged again and the car finally did stop. That same day on flat ground the same thing repeated. A second brake problem has occurred multiple times; likely 50 - 60 times. When braking and the car downshifts, the vehicle surges forward before slowing again, esp from 4th down to 3rd, of 3rd down to 2nd gear and 2nd to 1st. I have taken this to reed Jeep in my hometown of kansas city and not problem was identified. The car has been driven by others who also felt the same. These issues can put others at risk because they have occured when others are driving and they could injure a pedstrian or cause an mva when the car does not stop. I have ceased driving the vehicle because of this and the battery fire concern and the engine failure from sand concern.
I have a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe and have owned it for about 11 months. I bought it new. For the first 7 or 8 months, no problems at all. However, in the last 2 or 3 months, the truck has intermittently shutdown while driving. It's happened on the highway and on local streets. I've taken it to two Jeep dealers for service, and neither could replicate the problem. It's not showing any fault codes when they diagnose. One dealer said they updated the software and should have fixed the issue. It hasn't. I am afraid to drive this vehicle and will never let my wife drive it. I've searched online and see others have had the exact same issues. I need to get this vehicle repaired by stellantis/Jeep otherwise I'll be forced to return it.
While driving 70mph the vehicle had a sudden loss of power which required me to quickly navigate over two lanes of highway traffic to the right shoulder. I had no power or ability to accelerate. I was in hybrid mode with adaptive cruise control active. Upon safely making it to the shoulder of the road, I saw message on the dash saying something about electrical mode unavailable. I turned the vehicle off completely and back on again after waiting approximately 30 seconds. The error message cleared and the vehicle operated normally. This has not happened again after another 1,000 miles of driving, but it is currently being seen at the dealer for another issue with that will not allow electric mode operation, only combustion engine. We believe we may have a vehicle in the 1% outlined in NHTSA 25v-576 and are waiting a solution from the manufacturer.
Transmission and fuel injector malfunction: vehicle shutters upon acceleration. Particularly noticeable driving up hill or when maintaining speeds. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Jeep acknowledges the issue, noted a malfunction with pico data and a fuel injector repair was done under warranty. Stellantis deems the shuttering "acceptable. " safety is at risk as there is a hesitation and inconsistency in the transmission while driving. Yes the problem has been reproduced by 2 dealers, a stellantis starcase was opened and stellantis has a sol published for service centers but is refusing to release the fine print of the sol to the consumer. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer despite 3 open cases requesting that a stellantis master technician review the issue. Yes there were several warning lights including "service transmission" and "check engine" that began appearing at 6000 miles. The issue persists today at 14k miles.
This Jeep does not get the fuel milage it is suppose too (19 city and 26 hwy). It has a rough idle and almost dies when air condition is on at a stop sign or red light. The valves chatter no matter what octane of gasoline you use.
I was traveling on a highway at 65mph in hybrid mode. The car displayed a service hybrid electric vehicle system warning message along with several other system failure messages in rapid succession. The battery failure icon was also on. The car lost all power and started slowing down. Luckily traffic was light and I was able to reach a point to where I was able to move to a spot on the roadside. I stopped the car and it automatically went into park and would not move out of park. After several tries I was able to start the vehicle in esave mode and it was running on the ice. All of the errors cleared. I was able to proceed to a side road and eventually make it home. I took it to my local dealer the next day and a read of the code was a b273c indicating digital crash detection. The service manager said this is a known problem and they are waiting for a fix. Reference star publication s2408000063 rev. C in most cases only the service hybrid electric vehicle system warning message comes on for a few second and goes away. This has occurred on my vehicle multiple times with no side effects. One other time the car went into turtle mode, which cleared after a restart. It was in town so was not an issue to pull over. This time the loss of power could have been catastrophic if traffic was heavy while traveling on a busy highway at high speeds.
Transmission sticks and does not change gears which causes motor to run with extreme high rpms. Must pull over on side of the road to stop and reset transmission. There have been multiple electronic issues resulting in numerous diagnostics. Also malfunctioning cameras sensors. The local Jeep dealer said there are known problems, but no repair options at this time.
1) car shuts off automatically when driving. The only option to start engine again is to shut off the engine and restart. 2) car hesitate when gas engine is communicating with electric battery. Car acts like it is is neutral for about 5 seconds the both issues listed above creates a serious safety risk as there is no option to accelerate while driving on a highway or city street. It creates a safety risk for my family and drivers that are behind me since other drivers have to come to an abrupt stop. The engine turned off while I was driving my daughters to school and we came within inches of being hit by a tractor trailer. That is why I am writing this message. This is a serious safety risk and I do not trust this vehicle. I took the car back to the dealership and I was told that the issue is a characteristics of a hybrid. They were not able to replicate the issue but they are aware of the issue since others customers had the same complaint. The engine shut off and engine stall happened 3 more times after this visit so I am now going back to see what options I have to get out of this lease. The episodes happened so fast that I do not recall if a warning light came on. It is a very scary moment when you have your family in the car and the engine shuts off for no reason. Fortunately there has been no accident yet but as mentioned I am going to try my best to get out of this lease.
This car is a hybrid, plug in electric. I have issues with the car racing on it's own to charge the battery, meaning if I come to a stop and take my foot off the brake the car will race forward and cruise at 15mph without me accelerating. I find this to be extremely dangerous and will take it back to the dealer once again. I have had many other issues with the car and none have been resolved. This one to be is the most worrisome.
Fuel gauge does not display accurate fuel amount. Gauge is stuck in 3/4 full tank hereby misleading how much fuel is in vehicle. This is on a brand new delivered Jeep. Risk of running out of fuel with no warning whatsoever.
