One problem related to coolant leaking has been reported for the 2000 Jeep Laredo. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I own a 2000 Jeep cherokee Laredo and when I cold start it the oil pressure goes to a bit over 40 but after the inline 6 4. 0 ltr warms up the oil pressure drops to zero and the check gauges light goes on. I have replaced the oil pressure sending unit twice and cleaned the oil pressure sending unit mounting nut and it has not affected the oil pressure. I have kept regular oil changes at 3000 miles. I am also losing engine coolant but cannot find a leak anywhere in the system. I have pressure checked the cooling system cold and it holds pressure, hot it loses pressure in about 15 minutes. This problem has been occurring for about 8 months now. I have read online that it is most likely a cracked head and appears to be a very common problem with the heads used on 99 to 01 Jeep inline 6's. If it is such a common problem when it Chrysler not addressing it? this is my second Jeep cherokee, my first a 98, and it was a great car but that one is junk.
