Cooling Fan problems of the 2000 Jeep Laredo

Six problems related to cooling fan have been reported for the 2000 Jeep Laredo. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

Cooling system looses coolant. Have replaced fan relay & water pump. Still overheats.

2 Cooling Fan problem

Failure Date: 11/06/2006

: the contact stated a NHTSA recall letter #06v199000 regarding engine and engine cooling:cooling system:fan was received. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who replaced the radiator fan but charged the contact for a relay switch part and labor. The dealer did not cover the parts and labor under recall, as stated in the notice received by the client.

3 Cooling Fan problem

: the contact stated while driving various speeds, the engine thermostat elevated without warning. A NHTSA recall, #06v199000 was performed on the vehicle concerning, the engine and engine cooling:cooling system:fan, however the recall did not remedy the problem. The vehicle was inspected by the dealer who determined the relay switch for the newly updated cooling system fan needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was alerted.

4 Cooling Fan problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2006

- the contact has a 2000 Jeep grand cherokee Laredo. The contact received a recall for this vehicle on 10/11/2006 and on September 1, 2006, several hours after having a full service check up for a broken b seat belt the contact was driving on the interstate at 75 mph and the electric radiator fan blade separated and went through the radiator. The contact stated that this caused the engine to overheat, cracking the engine's head, and seizing the engine. The contact stated that everything happened instantly, causing the vehicle to suddenly begin smoking and lose power, even thought the contact was accelerating. The contact stated that the steering column locked, and the vehicle was able to coast to a stop, and later had it towed. The contact stated that the weather was in the 100 degrees on that day. She paid $2100 to repair the vehicle , and that the dealership wanted to settle with her for $700.

5 Cooling Fan problem

2000 Jeep grand cherokee, had overheating issues. Have had water pump, cooling fan, cooling fan relay replaced, still a problem. Thousand of other people having the same problems.
