Jeep Laredo owners have reported 2 problems related to front seat power adjust (under the seats category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
06-10-2008 - the left front bracket of the power seat mechanism to seat frame cracked completely through making the seat wobble badly and the Jeep undriveable. There are 4 rotating brackets at the corners and this is one of them. I was fortunate that when it broke, it didn't cause a crash. As this just happened, it has not been repaired yet. The dealer told me that the repair would probably be replacing the entire seat at $ 1,000. 00. There were no unusual events that led up to this failure. Please contact me at any time for more information.

I own a 2001 grand cherokee Jeep Laredo 4x4. The problem is with the eight way seat. The hinged actuator that the seat is mounted to has fractured causing the seat to become unstable. I performed tests that revealed cracks in the welds and in the component parts themselves. I have been in contact with Jeep and they say there is no problems with that model and the seats. They will not replace the part because the feel its not a safety issue.
