The 2002 Jeep Liberty we bought for my wife back in 2010 from we thought was a very good honest car dealer will not name this person, but I ended up placing a brand new water pump within days of buying, then a new radio part from the dealer not cheap either, then the hood supports one was bad and the hood fell on my head so I bought 2 more not cheap all the oem- parts, not long after that had new SUV tires the type it used, had to buy the book that goes with the Jeep from dealer almost $100 just for the book. We still kept the Jeep it was paid for, then I placed new brakes pads and turned the front rotors too, bought new chrome lug nuts the tire people messed up several of my lug nuts, had chrome lug nuts placed, then we-started getting these safety recalls in the mail hard for us to do without a way of going, but the drive shaft dropped out while my brother - in- law was test driving it to find out what was making a bad roaring sound from under the Jeep, when he turned the Jeep around to go back to his shop the drive-shaft dropped out on the ground, I was shocked as well as him too. And my wife what else is going to happen with that Jeep. I never heard of so many recalls for one 2002 Jeep Liberty I have never seen or heard of what is next. ? my wife now drives the Jeep without the drive shaft that came loose and dropped out. Now it's just a 2 wheel drive Jeep not 4x4. I'm very upset with all that has go wrong with this Jeep, we've had it almost 5 years and haven't put maybe 10 to 13,000 miles on the Jeep during that time, she drives back and to - to work, please help us tell us what to do? if this drive-shaft would have came out while my wife was driving around 55mph it could have either killed or even caused very bad bodely harm to her, in the affected parts will not allow to place the part that you should look at_ front drive_shaft!!).
The contact stated they have two defective seat belts. After they had their vehicle for one month, the passenger back seat belt became defective. The second seat belt which is the drivers seat seat belt became defective last Tuesday. They had no problem putting it on, but became trapped and could not disconnect their seat belt when trying to get out of their vehicle. The contacts coworkers had to get her out with a swiss army knife and wd40. No further damage done to seat belt. A mechanic said this was caused by a weak spring. They have been using this seat belt since, but it is not operating functionally. Seat belts are free of dirt and contaminents. No pictures available. The contact also stated that their radio became defective about two months ago. The radio took the juice out of the battery causing battery to die.
Ltr re recalls on her daimler Chrysler purchased back in August 13, 2001. The consumer stated the vehicle has been recalled more than 3 times and supposedly fixed over 6 times regarding the ball joints. The consumer had an accident. The ball joint broke while the consumer was attempting to park. The radiator was leaking at the seam. The right front hub bearing was noisy. The cd changer would skip after a few songs. The dealer found an internal fault. There was a heavy crunchy noise when driving, stopping and making turns. The front stabilizer/sway bar was replaced. The rack and pinion was leaking.
Radio/cd player quit working and the display blinks on and off with radio turned on or off and noticed a clicking sound from within the dash. Also from time to time the dome light would come on without intervention.
I have had my Jeep at the dealers 3 times regarding an insanely loud "feedback" that comes from my stereo and speakers with no warning. The radio has been replaced twice and it still happens. The dealership seems dumbfounded. It will happen with no warning and is incredibly startling. It about caused me to wreck the first time it happened. It is sparatic but once it happens it will continue to happen ffor an undetermined amount of time after that. Once the radio is turned off, you may then come back an hour later an it may be fine for a few days, but then all of a sudden it happens again. May be a ground electrical problem but dealership can't find it! still happening. . . Someone help!!!!! also corrosion on my wheels. Only has 20k miles. Not good. . . Other than these problems. . . I truly enjoy the vehicle.
