Failure Date: 04/28/2004

I have a Jeep Liberty limited 2003 leased on October 2002. Ive had to bring the vehicle in for service seven times for the same problem and the dealer has not repaired it. The problem is that while driving at speeds anywhere from 30 - 65 and while trying to accelerate from a complete stop the vehicle will start to buck and hesitate, the speedometer will swing back and forth and the vehicle suddenly loses speed and then regains it. I've almost been hit by another vehicle on the palisades parkway on three separate occasions. The failure started on April 28,2004 at 32,000 miles it now has 34,600 miles and it has reoccurred after all seven times of going in for repair of same condition after the dealership at central Ave Chrysler Jeep in yonkers, claims to have repaired it. The dealership will not honor the warranty by properly repairing or replacing vehicle.

39 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/03/2004

I own a 2003 Jeep Liberty that was purchased in February, 2003 and currently has 10,000 miles on it. It has stalled 9 times over the last year. The stalling occurs at speeds anywhere from idle to 65 miles an hour. It has serviced by two different dealerships on six different occasions. They have been unable to find the problem. It is currently not drivable and is sitting at a dealership in stamford, CT. The last incident took place while driving at 65 miles an hour on I-95. The car began to jerk and eventually stalled leaving me without steering and putting my family at great risk.

41 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/05/2003

Tl- the contact owns a 2003 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that there was an intermittent electrical short that progressed for years. The vehicle was taken to an independent dealer and the authorized dealer who both were not able to replicate and diagnose the failures more than once. The contact continued to experience the failure in which the vehicle stalled several times and the vehicle had to be restarted to reset the computer. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who replaced the instrument cluster twice and the failure recurred. The contact was also included in NHTSA campaign id number: 15v046000 (air bags) and the dealer was unable to determine when the part and the permanent remedy would become available to schedule the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and was unable to determine when the air bag recall repair would be performed. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was less than 5. Dyd.
