I t-boned a taxi that tried clearing 3 lanes of roadway last minute to make his exit. I was going 30mph. Upon impact, the prius's airbags went off, and I noticed my airbags in the Jeep did not go off. For an impact at that speed, and hitting the car full frontal, it should have definitely gone off.
The Jeep begin to smoke and then cut off. Upon arriving at the mechanic he stated the air condition clutch caught fire.
My father in-law was driving home from NY to ohio when the engine started to lose power then over heated I took off the valve cover found that the #2 cyl valve came off and cracked the head went on line read this is a major problem I have pics.
Driving car and it just cut off. . This is the third time over the years. . . First time when car was purchased new in 2003 at carmax in their driveway. . . Then a couple of years ago on expressway. . Cost 1,600 for repairs at dealership. . Then again 4-20-2012. . The car has had four window motor replacements and two computer replacements. . The car is dangerous. . I have checked internet. . These are issues across the USA. The car should be recalled. . It is dangerous. . Will contact president obama also and the news media.
Drove it the night before and it ran perfectly fine. No problems at all. Come out to go to work in the morning and turn the key and the engine was knocking really bad. So I turned it off and tried it again and got the same thing again. Took it to the mechanic which is 1/8miles away. He replaced the spark plugs and wires and still doing it. He said the engine has full compression. He can't figure out what is wrong with it. Not even a 100,000 miles on it yet. Very disappointed in Jeep. . . The mechanic said I need a new engine. 3. 7l 2003 Jeep Liberty and it have seen others having this such problem too. Jeep needs to step in and do something about it. I will ruin their reputation so bad by social media. Friends from all across the country and other countries will find out that Jeep is a joke and does not stand behind their vehicle. I will never buy another product from them ever again!!! please Jeep step in and do something for us. . Recall the engine for these car's!!!!.
While stopped at a stop light my Jeep Liberty unexpectedly accelerated while my foot was on the brake.
I was driving on the highway (rt17) heading north, doing about 55 and got off at exit 120 or 121 and as I was driving down the ramp at about 35 mph during rush hour my car just came to a halt. I heard a ding ding, noticed I had no power steering or power brakes and coasted to the side of the ramp. It went from riding with no problems to just dead. I can't even begin to think what would have happened if I was riding in the passing lane or the middle lane of rt. 17 in middletown, NY. I probably would be dead. My son was with me also. I had to have the car towed home and my husband looked at it and told me that the spring had broken and come off and the rocker arm and two clips. We still don't know how much damage has been done to the engine. Apparently, and this is from a Jeep mechanic. In both the 3. 7 and 4. 7 engines, the valve seats are steel and the cylinder heads are aluminum and the two metals contract differently and when they do the valve seats fall out of the head. I have seen this problem listed on the internet by so many people that it's unfair that Jeep can do this to people. I bought this car with an inheritance , I don't have thousands of dollars to fix it. I have bought the rocker arm, the spring and the clips but still at this time need a rocker arm installer. This car has been kept up on all fluids and changes.
Three times in the past year as I am coming to a stop, the Jeep's engine started racing, only by shifting into neutral did I stop before hitting the car in front. I needed to shut the engine off, because the engine was roaring.
While driving 25 mph a fire started in the engine. Consumer pulled over, and had the vehicle towed. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.
Computer failure, engine cut off, interior lights, five window motors and glass. . Car should be recalled. . Safety issues.
