Tl- the contact owns a 2004 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the local dealer orlando Dodge located at 4101 w colonial dr, orlando, FL 32808 regarding NHTSA recall campaign number 13v252000(structure). The contact was informed that the remedy to install a trail hitch to rear of the vehicle could not be completed due to rusting of the subframe. The cause of the failure was not determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 141,000. Jft.

The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign id number: 13v252000 (fuel system, gasoline , structure) and the dealer stated that the frame had extensive rust and that the frame needed to be replaced by the contact to receive the recall repair. The dealer refused to supply the oem trailer hitch unless the contact replaced the framing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.
