Consumer writes in regards to safety recall l27/ NHTSA 12v-085 the consumer stated when she called the dealer to make an appointment, she was informed there was a parts shortage and they were taking names, vehicle identification numbers, and phone numbers and she would be contacted when the parts arrived. The consumer stated it has been two months and the parts were still not available.
The contact owns a 2005 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that she received notification of NHTSA campaign id number 12v085000 (suspension:rear) and an authorized dealer was notified to secure an appointment for recall repairs. The contact was informed that the necessary parts were on back order. The manufacturer was then notified and the contact was referred back to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact owns a 2005 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated while depressing the accelerator pedal the vehicle swerved to the left and right. While driving highway speed at approximately 55 to 60 mph the vehicle also became uncontrollable. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who performed a diagnostic test that determined the failure was located in the rear lower control bushing. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was 55,000 and the current mileage was 78,000.
