general problems of the 2006 Jeep Liberty

Air bag light stays on and the never been setoff.

My 2006 Jeep just stop working, came out of work and would not turn over,ecm box went bad on my Jeep. This is a common problem per my mechanic the on board ( brain ) computer ecu, ecm and ec box must be recalled or else this issue is on the purchasers like us. Fords had the same problem back in 96. Your part for may 2006 Jeep ecm can not be located anywhere in the united states, how is this possible????????.

While applying brake & shifting to reverse, car accelerated in reverse at high speed with no throttle engaged. Brake was pressed the whole time and pumped to stop vehicle, there was no braking. Esp/bas, abs and skidding vehicle icon lights came on in the instrument cluster! the cruise control stopped working. This is the same issue we had on our 2007 Jeep wrangler, which I filed a complaint with the NHTSA, which issued a recall on our Jeep. Tl- the contact owns a 2002 Jeep Liberty renegade. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15v046000 (air bags). However, the part to was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time to provide the part to do the repair. Bd.

2006 Jeep Liberty clockspring malfunction. Contact with dealership yielded info that no replacement part is available, yet the car is rendered unsafe without the replacement of malfunctioning part. Owners have to decide whether to drive unsafely or park it until the part is available, which most people cannot afford to do. This is a widespread problem that Chrysler is not addressing.

My daughter was driving and a truck in front of her stopped quickly causing my daughter to slam on brakes to avoid a collision but ended up rear ending the truck. Her airbag deployed and her Jeep had to be towed from the site. It has been in the shop since 4/28/14 and was repaired except for the clock spring which is necessary for the new airbag. We have been told that this part is no longer produced or manufactured by any vendor in the country. Therefore, our Jeep cannot be released to us which has caused a hardship on our family as well as a hardship for the shop manager as he cannot be paid until the car is released. Because of this I believe that anyone driving a 2006 Jeep Liberty in the country is possibly at risk due to this device not being readily available in the proper supply channels.

Chryster case number 24918335vin 6w2286882006 Jeep Libertyowner sharon white: brought Jeep vehicle into the dealership (bedard brothers MA. ) in March of this year. Vehicle failed inspection (safety/airbag). Dealership determined that the vehicle needed a clock spring replacement. Chrysler is unable to replace this part (waiting @1 year). Unable to perform repair to vehicle because clock spring part is unavailable - can't be found anywhere - Chrysler procurement failure. Car is un-drivable. This vehicle is one of four hundred across the country waiting for this part. Received absolutely no assistance from Chrysler or dealership. Had to scrap car. Lost a lot of money.

The clock spring on this Jeep has broken and has been broken for more than two months. This has disabled the horn, abs system, cruise control, vehicle stability program and most importantly the driver's airbag. This is a known problem to Jeep and they are doing nothing about it. They just continue to say the part is on back order. This is unsafe and someone must force a mandatory immediate solution.

I was involved in a roll over accident on July 8, 2012. I was heading south through a green light while a red van going west ran through a red light hitting me on my drivers side making me t-bone and roll three times. I was wearing my seat belt but none of my airbags deployed. My Jeep was a total loss. I came out of the accident with a broken thumb and wipe lash.

While driving down the freeway at 65 miles an hour both the driver and passenger airbags deployed without warning or any apparent reason. We were able to safely pull off the road and as soon as the smoke cleared from the vehicle we drove it to the nearest Jeep dealer they are currently looking at it but haven't got back to us yet.
