1 Air Conditioner problem

Failure Date: 06/02/2007

The contact leases a 2006 Jeep Liberty. The contact scheduled an appointment in June of 2007 to have the blower motor replaced. He stated that the part for the repair is still unavailable in September of 2007. The air conditioning system hesitates when it is activated. The dealer cannot provide a specific date as to when the manufacturer will have the part. The current mileage was 17,000 and failure mileage was 15,000.

2 Air Conditioner problem

Failure Date: 05/29/2007

The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Liberty. On may 29, 2007, while driving 55 mph, the vehicle completely lost power. She stated that she was almost involved in a serious crash with several other vehicles. The contact stated that when she picked up the vehicle from the shop on June 6, 2007, it was not in the same working condition as before it was brought in for the fan belt recall repair. She stated that the wheels were loose and the air conditioner produced a burning smell when activated. The dealer remedied the recall, however, they stated that there were other potential failures that needed attention. The manufacturer has not offered any assistance. The contact stated that her vehicle is brand new and she has already received seven recall notices. The engine size was unknown. The current and failure mileages were 13,000. 3 Air Conditioner problem

Failure Date: 07/04/2006

: the contact stated while traveling 70 mph, a smell of burnt plastic was noticed. The vehicle pulled over, and flames erupted from under the passenger glove compartment. The contact extinguished the fire with a fire extinguisher, and a police report was taken. The driver sustained blisters on his right hand while putting the fire out. The contact believed the fire could have been electrical since the fire started from the air conditioning blower area. The vehicle was deemed totaled, and was taken to a salvage yard.
