There is a slight fuel system leak that allows an air pocket to build in the fuel filter housing. When this air pocket gets drawn into the injector pump, the engine begins running badly, causing immediate loss of power. This has occurred multiple times, the first time the dealer could not duplicate the problem, so there was no point in returning to waste my time after that. I know how to temporarily fix the problem now that I have read so many other owners have experienced the same thing, as noted in the lost internet forum. The latest occurrence happened at 65 mph passing on the freeway, and I nearly caused an accident trying to maneuver off the road when I lost power.
