The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that while traveling various speeds, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was found that the fuse box needed to be replaced. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted about the failure. The failure mileage and VIN was not available.
Replaced driver side door key lock, had to remove inner door pnl, (disconnected battery), after job was complete and started for first time, noticed that the (digital) dashboard odometer instead of showing mileage indicated the word "error". Investigated on internet and discovered many other people are having same "error" message appear on odometer after disconnecting battery.
The radio has a short and the front speakers do not work. Radio needs to be replaced.
While driving the vehicle, water began to seep out of the maplights and down both a-frame pillars. Panoramic moon roof stopped closing all the way after a wind storm and was open enough to cause major leakage (upwards of 3 gallons of water). I feel this is defective and could have caused a major accident, as travelling at high rate of speed, this could have resulted in the roof flying open. Manufacturer has stated it is not an issue that they provide any assistance with, and the repairs will be over $7000.
The door locks in the car no longer lock, the windshield wiper fluid doesn't come out anymore, and the windshield wipers works some times. All of the problems listed after can affect the owner of the car, and any passengers. Especially the door locks I know me myself I have two younger children who could be effected by this hazard do to the doors not locking on their own. Also the windshield wipers are a big must to clean debris off the front windshield is needed, and the fluid as well.
My roof is a soft top . Some how it shorted out. Burning up my battery, my roof will not close how ever it opened own its on. My outlet never have worked. So I have leeks left and right front inside.

Upon opening skyslider passanger side of top did not open, when finally starting to open got stuc at first frame. Would not close properly. This needs to be recalled. Consumer should not have this many problems.
A piece fell from under the seat which makes the seat feel loose. The side control panel for moving the seat back and forth does not give full control of adjusting the seat. The key less remote will not lock and unlock my doors. I have to use manual locks. I took it to be looked at, I was advised ground wires were crossing and blowing out a fuse/relay. The mophar skyliner sunroof is off track. There is a manufacturer defect in the sunroof. Chrysler has not issued a recall yet several Jeeps are having and have had this issue. It is $300 for a new roof which will break/go off track within 2 years. Or $6000 to repair the roof I have which still does not guarantee it will break/go off track again. The roof opens on it's own while I am driving causing exposure to outside weather. I have read from other customers that the roof has flown off while driving which can cause injuries to the passengers in vehicle and/or driving around the vehicle.
Sky slider roof assembly partially opened and will not close.
The sunroof leaks into the headliner causing mold and also affecting the electrical wires in the headliner. We have a 3 year old son and I believe that this could cause a threat to him as well as my wife who's drives the car. It has been brought to my attention that Jeep is aware of the problem with this model as well as other models that have the same problem, I am a ware that it is a used car but with the research that I have done its not the fact that it is used, it was a problem that was wrong when this 2008 Jeep had when it rolled off the line, and I'm conserened for my wife and sons safety as well as so many other dealing with this same problem!!!!.
The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Liberty. The contact was driving 30 mph when the electrical components of the vehicle malfunctioned as the vehicle stalled. The contact had the vehicle towed to the dealer where the dealer advised the contact that the computer and fuse box malfunctioned and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to a back order of the parts needed for repairs. The failure mileage was 81,000.
While driving to work the car alarm, front and back windshield wipers, and the windshield wiper fluid activated. After a single incident the Jeep Liberty was taken in and had the multifunction switch replaced. The following week the problem happened again, going on and off for 10-15 minutes. The dealership indicated that it was the total integrated power module.
Power windows fail to open, or fail to close if ever opened.
I have had a ding for no reason that occurs all the time sometimes once a day some times every few mins. Then while towing a trailer, which is only 6 x 12 and well under max tow limits esp not working light will come on and go off at very annoying intervals, once this starts 4x4 light comes on, then service 4wheel drive comes on. Have taken vehicle in numerous times and been charged close to 1000. Dollars and no fix. They keep telling me it's a sensor but they replace and no good. The vehicle seems to be driving perfectly well but on my last trip the trannsmission light came on and vehicle wouldn't drive right. I have the trans cooler on and fluid levels where good and after a few minuetes light went out and I drove 400 more miles no problem. . . Help!.
2008 Jeep Liberty. Consumer writes regarding electrical/ computer problems the consumer stated from the beginning he had intermittent electrical problems. The alarm would go off, the lights would come on and go off, the windshield wipers and washers would not activate. The dealer kept the vehicle for several days, but were unable to isolate the problem.
09/5/2010 after my purchase of my Jeep I took it to brandon courtesy Chrysler Dodge Jeep , I have had nothing but problems with my Jeep since then they damaged my Jeep and refused to take ownership of all they had done. I keep telling management of the issues no real response do to my spinal cord injury no other choice in dealership mantinance. 08/2014 last yr I was on i75 going about 70 when my slider roof flow open taking parts with it. I paid them over 100. $ plus they changed my insurance over $2000. I have taken it back over ten times it still leaking. And stained from the leaks. They no longer reunion my calls. Plus they did not replace the slidder roof as charged but repaired. My batteries don't last. Since my first visit with brandon courtesy Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealership I had told them of the exssive wind noise. The list goes on I have copies of all said and did repairs that don't match the reprints I requested. Please help.
I have a warning ding that keeps recurring in my 2008 Jeep Liberty limited. It is a safety issue because it happens at completely random times, and causes the driver to look down in search of what the warning is in regard to, but there is not a corresponding light. The random warning ding happens on a regular basis, anywhere from at least once every 3 days up to 3 times in one day. There are other minor issues happening with the electrical, and the tire pressure monitor has been affected as well, but seems to be ok right now. However, I feel as if this issue is a warning sign for a bigger electrical issue that has yet to be resolved. I do not wish to be the case for which everyone else basis their examples on. I cannot seem to get Chrysler/Jeep to feel the urgency to look into this defect, however based on the random behavior and no success in finding the cause, it seems that this should be one of those circumstances where it's better to be safe than sorry.
Electrical system- electrical mirrors stopped working. The power mirrors worked intermittent, then completely stopped working. Dealership replaced 2 total integrated power modules and rewired harness. Mirrors worked for 24 hours and ceased working. Airbag light will come on if air/ heat is turned to 3.
Almost 8 months after purchasing my vehicle the sunroof and back windshield started leaking water when ever it rained. I took the vehicle into the dealership and paid to have it repaired however it leaked again plus now the water has stained the material. Plus the electric has shorted out and this was repaired. A third time of the water leaking and replacing the seals has not helped. When the weather is bad we can not drive the car due to water leaking on to passengers plus afraid to drive the vehicle for fear of breaking down with electrical problems. This is the third Jeep that we have owned .

Electrical harness.
The first tire inflation valve stem and sending unit assembly failed resulting in dashboard alert and inability to inflate or check tire pressure as the unit was broken. At first the dealer refused to replace under warranty but subsequently did replace it under warranty at a later date. The problem once again happened on a second tire this time out of warranty. The dealer service manager explained that the problem is due to the valve assembly being constructed of dissimilar metals causing premature corrosion and stem failure. Since the vehicle was now out of warranty the dealer offered to fix this problem once and for all by replacing the valve stem on all four tires with common rubber stems without the sending units. The offered fix would obviously disable the tire pressure warning system but would "fix" the broken stem assembly problem. The dealer indicated this would be done as this was a common, frustrating, expensive known problem with this vehicle.
