15 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/15/2012

When filling the Jeep up with gas, no matter if the pump handle is locked or I'm manually pumping, it will spew gas out all over. This gets on me, all down the side of the Jeep. I have contacted my local Jeep dealership and asked about the problem. The lady in the service department looked my VIN up and said no, there was no known problem. She said I could bring the Jeep in and let them look at it. Of course, this will cost me $85 for a diagnostics test. This gas spewing all over has happened many times and at different stations. I find it hard to believe there is not a known problem. After researching the internet, I find I am not the only one experiencing this problem. I hope they wake up soon.

16 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/10/2012

Every time I fill up my 2008 Jeep Liberty just as the automatic shutoff engages the gas comes out of the fill pipe and down the side of my vehicle. It does not matter where I fill up this always happens. I was beginning to think I was the only one with this problem but I see there are others. In my opinion I feel that Jeep should check this problem without cost to the owners as a gesture of good public relations. My Jeep was purchased in November 2012 as a pre-owned vehicle from a Jeep dealership.

17 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2012

I have 2 problems number1 is the gas mileage it gets the mileage it says on the internet but I feel that is bad fuel mileage I had a 2000 Jeep grand cherokee with a v8 and got 25 miles per gallon on the high way you would think that a v6 would just as good or better but it is not . Second problem is fuel spillage evrytime you fill up I have tried different things to try and stop the spillage but to no avail. I feel there should be a recall on this problem but there is no recalls for a 2008 Jeep they had recalls on some older Jeeps but not mine it would be nice to see something done about this problem. Thanks donnie montieth.

18 Other Fuel System problem

The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000 and the current mileage was 109,000. The VIN number was unavailable.

19 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/26/2011

Every single time I go to fill up the vehicle, it spews gas all over the place (the vehicle, me, ground) it doesn't matter how fast or slow you fill it up, it goes all over everything. Its dangerous and very irritating!.

20 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/30/2011

After just purchasing vehicle from used dealership (2nd owner), first time filling up resulted in overflow of gas. Tried multiple gas stations, speeds, amounts and resulted in same overflow. Called dealership and they refused to check out the car unless I paid non-refundable 200 inspection fee before diagnosis (keep in mind I had just purchased the vehicle)! called manufacturer and they claimed not a known issue although current recall states otherwise. 2008 Jeep Liberty should be added to that recall effort!.

21 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2011

When filling the Jeep up with gas, no matter if the pump handle is locked or I'm manually pumping, at multiple gas stations I have experienced overflow. It runs down the side of the car and all over the ground. It has happened numerous times at different stations. It seems dangerous, because this could be a fire hazzard, and is an enviromental hazzard. I have seen several simmlar complaints on line, but when I checked with the dealer, I was told that they have not come accross this problem. . I try to pump as slow as posible when I know it is near full, but still get gas coming out every time that I let it go until the pump stops. I am not filling past the first pump shut off. This is obveously a problem that the manufacturer should be fixing.

22 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/12/2010

When I am refueling my 2008 Jeep Liberty 1 out of 4 times the fuel does not stop when filled and spills out everywhere. Gas splashes on me, the ground and my car. This happens at different gas stations and pumps and seems very unhealthy and dangerous.
