My anti skid, abs, and esp lights are on. The cruise control is not working. Also, at about 50 mph, my front end acts up. I am told that this is a known problem with the clock spring.

After safety recall n46 &r06 Jeep didn't inspect the tank and there's gas leak, as it on the video https://youtu. Be/u-67o4tnsjw . When they give me back my vehicle I had a lot of electrical issues like windows doesn't work and vehicle stopped on the road. This is very dangerous and they don't care. Vehicle is stationery because I'm afraid to fire like more than 50 people in my Jeep Liberty.

"takata recall" this vehicle is a saftey hazzard unsafe due to abs notification system and causing brakes to drag and lock up. I purchased this vehicle at a so called 5 star Chrysler Jeep dealership and it was put on the lot with bad breaks that where metal to metal and a bad electrical system. I had to purchase new breaks which are being damaged due to abs malfunction causing the hit an miss causing the breaks to over work against the rotar drag and lock up. I was coming home on hwy and had to apply my breaks the break light came on and my breaks locked and I swerve off road to keep from rear ending another vehicle and shut off engine. This is a safety issue vehicle is unsafe and should not have been sold without breaks and electrical system being checked out.

At 44,143 in Dec 2009 I had 4 new tires and rear disc pads replaced. In July 2012, about mileage 54000, while driving in town, the left rear wheel speed sensor failed causing loss of abs, esp, and cruise control. I had dealer repair. At 67,642,in April 2016, I noticed the rear disc rotors were caked with a crusty rust and it appeared that the brake pads were worn out. . The rear brakes could not have been working. The dealer put on new rotors, calipers, pads, and flushed the system. The rusty rotors could not be turned to reuse, the calipers were both "stuck" and the brake fluid was "black". I also had the front rotors turned and new pads installed. The abs, esp, and cruise control still lights up on the dash for a minute then goes out by itself, leading me to totally distrust the system. I have never seen brake rotors so rusted in my 65 years.
The airbag clockspring has broken and we were told the airbags, anti lock brakes and the stability control will not work without this part. We have not been able to find this part and have been told that it is on back order and anywhere from 35 to 100 are on the waiting list before us. This is for the mopar replacement part. No one else is making this part and we are forced to drive, what we feel is an unsafe car. Nothing particular happened, the warning lights just went on.

Started vehicle and drove about 1/4 of a mile. The vehicle completely shut down and I had to manually steer it to the side of the road. Car would not start and power to everything was lost. Could not jump start even though battery was fully charged. Turned out to be faulty tipm. Vehicle only has 36,000 miles on it!.
Jeep would not start -had lights, radio, horn etc. But it would not turn over at all. Towed to dealer. Tech performed diagnosis and found the problem - steering column had to be replaced. Total cost $798. 00. I was told that the steering column and ignition switch were problem issues in this make and model but no recall was in place to repair. Ignition switch recall replace in 2006 Jeep Liberty manual transmission but not in automatic transmission.
One week ago from 11/28/15, I was informed my brake lights were out. Just suddenly no lights, then one by one tail lights started going out. I had a 2008 compass with the same issue, that was never repairable. I was driving at the time, and with no means of other transportation I have to drive with no lights.
On 3 separate occasions, over the course of the last 5 months, my Jeep has just randomly quit (engine stalled). This has happened while driving down the road -(twice on a freeway, once on a surface street)- all the dash indicator lights have come on and my Jeep engine has just quit. I've been very lucky that I was not in heavy traffic and was able to coast to the side of the road without incident. After a couple of attempts, I was able to restart my Jeep. There is no warning to this random stalling, no sputtering, no loss of power, it just quits with no indication. My mechanic states that this due to a defective totally integrated power module that is currently on a nationwide backorder. There are 18 orders in front of mine from my local dealership (that's just one dealership). This defective component causes your vehicle to randomly stall out while driving - potentially putting myself or others in danger of an accident. I'm told it could be weeks or months before this part is available, so every time I get in my Jeep I wonder: "will this be the day that I get in an accident" or will someone else get seriously hurt by hitting me? how many others are thinking the same thing? 100's - 1000's? I can't afford to rent a car for an undeterminable amount of time, so I have no choice but to drive this very unsafe vehicle and risk my life and the life of others on a daily basis.

Over 2 weeks ago, I was coming home with my 2 year old, and as we came off the highway, the battery light came on, then a bunch of other random lights on the dash popped on and beeped at me. I heard the car die right as I coasted into a gas station. Tried to jump with 3 different cables and it wouldn't jump. Next day, replaced the battery and it started up fine. Drove to work (about 5 miles) and the battery light came on again as I came across a hill. More dash lights came on and it died again. Had a mechanic replace the alternator, and then we had to get a 2nd new battery because I killed the first one. Later that day I drove it around, and after about 5-10 minutes of driving, as I was coming up a hill, the battery light came on. Turned around and came home. Next day I drove about 10 minutes across town and back and the light came on again, but it made it. I thought maybe the battery was just trying to get charged up, so I drove on the highway for about an hour and it was fine. When I came off the highway, all the dash lights started coming on and dinging at me. . . And then it died again in a parking lot. Would jump at first but rpm meter would jump up and down and then die. Eventually it wouldn't jump at all. Replaced the alternator again. Jumped the vehicle, let it sit running for about 10 minutes. Revved the engine and it died. Won't start. Won't even click. Called Jeep and they thought it was a bad pcm. Mechanic rented a special tool to test it. The pcm is fine, but the tipm module is bad. Now all my other weird issues are making sense: radio dials sometimes don't work, sometimes it stalls in the cold at randomly. And the air flap actuators stopped working, meaning that no air/heat blows out the top vents. And then it dying on me randomly, with no other warnings that things were going wrong.
Abs system goes out which in turn makes the cruise control go out. Then when you use the vehicle again the abs is on so is the cruise control but the brakes don't work well and grab. Then when you are using the lights at night it dims for no reason inside and out. Still waiting on the fix for the rear end fuel tank issue.
Abs, bas/esp, tcs indicator lights illuminate, vehicle loses power, brakes are applied ( most likely right front as car pulls to right) releasing throttle cancels the braking. As throttle is reapplied same action is repeated. So far it has only occurred at speeds< 35 mph. Should it occur in slippery road conditions it most likely result in loss of control. In researching the problem on the internet, it seems to be or is becoming a more common occurence which fca is not addressing. If you read the other complaint of the same problem it dates back a few years, yet there doesn't seem to be anything done to correct it. Some complainants say they have been unable to have it corrected even at Jeep dealerships, others report it's something called the clock spring that is causing the problem and the parts to repair it aren't available. Having just recently had fca's gas tank solution corrected, I hope a fix for this won't take as long. I neglected to say this was not a one-time event in as much as it happens now on an almost daily basis. A local shop checked for fault codes but there were none in memory; I have it scheduled for further tests 09/16/2015.
The pain on the outside roof is peeling, I do live in a state where the roads are salted however, there is no salt used on the top of the vehicle, this, while not a new vehicle should not be peeling the way it is. The front windshield had a severe chip & the installer was barely able to sand this area down enough to be able to seal the windshield. I have done some research & this is a very common problem along with the rear window regulators both of which have had to be replaced. There are problems with the emergency break & the Jeep dealership gives one reason for the abs, esp among other wheel and breaking issues. And now the one thing that Jeep is finally supposed to be doing something about rather than me having to put more money into this vehicle for, the gas tank recall seems to be a ridiculous fix, and I have been on a waiting list for this for months and still have not been able to get it in to get this fixed. I saw a news story that said that Chrysler was being mandated to fix these very poorly made vehicles. I would like to know how this particular vehicle does not fall into the other recalls when it has been having the same issues. I have been having breaking system issues as long back as 13 months after I purchased this vehicle.
So yesterday after work I get in my car and start it, and I noticed my airbag light came on. I figured maybe the sensor was triggered by the hot weather but that still didn't make sense. So I look up what I should do in the manual and it says take it to the dealer (they were closed). The next day, I thought surely the code would clear and all would be well. To my surprise my light was still on. I take my car to the dealership to get checked out (mind you, I have 2 warranties on this car) and I just know it will be covered. Wrong! I was shocked and dismayed to find out that my airbag has 2 problems, the seat belt sensor has blown out and the the airbag module is blown out (meaning it will not deploy if I get in an accident). On top of all this, neither of these problems are covered by my $4,000 warranty and will cost me $910 before taxes. Seriously??? I shouldn't have to pay a dime extra for what I was under the impression of already purchasing: a safe vehicle. This is absolutely unacceptable. Please do something about this soon. Someone could die.
After a service at ferman Chrysler in new port richey, florida . . . My anti lock brake system lights came on and when I was traveling in a congested area the vehicle just started coming to an extreme stop without my control or even applying the brakes.
Esp/bas, abs and skidding vehicle icon lights came on in the instrument cluster! the cruise control stopped working. This is the same issue we had on our 2007 Jeep wrangler, which I filed a complaint with the NHTSA, which issued a recall on our Jeep. The clock spring module, located under the steering wheel, controls, the abs, esp/bas, cruise control, horn, and air bag! this is a safety issue and should be recalled, like my 2007 Jeep wrangler was!.
June 2 2015 approximately 54000 miles on vehicle purchased with 17,000 from Jeep dealership. Engine seized with out warning while in motion on way home from work. No smoke and no lights on dash to forewarn me. No coolant ever leaked on garage floor or anywhere at all. Repair cost 4,000 and nothing covered by Chrysler. Heater core replaced twice engine rebuilt and after repairs water pump was leaking. Had that replaced for free. Once agin having issues.
While driving the esc off came on and the Jeep driving strange . It is jerking when you are coming to a stop. Although you are driving in 2nd it is flashing 4wdl. The esc off is flashing. It is scary driving when this is happening . Also since I bought this car new in 2012 , I had to pay for the break light to be change five times already. I think these Jeeps have electrical problems.
This vehicle is giving me a bunch of problem in the suspension, the first problem is with the front wheel ball joints which is a recall, I took it to the dealer and they said it was fixed years ago but how can it be fixed and still defective? they accept the condition and were willing to repair but only the lower ball joints but they said I have to pay for the upper ball joints which is over $1000, I did not do it and the car drives very unsafe, there is a heavy vibration in the wheel when driving over 30 miles, also the back tires got worn out every 2 months and I have to change them and they said will call me when the part from the fuel tank will be available to change it but hasn't happen yet in more than 5 months.

Making a left turn onto a major route at 30 mph when all of a sudden the vehicle takes off on it's own and begins to swerve picking up speed while both my feet are off of the pedals. It hits one concrete wall on a bridge and proceeds to cross yellow line picking up more speed before smashing straight into other concrete wall. It's the only thing that stopped this vehicle from continuing on. Air bags went off and split expelling strange odor. A Jeep dealer commented that either a sensor went or accelerator pedal had stuck. I could not straighten the vehicle out by steering at all.

There has been an intermittent issue where the check engine light comes on followed by the traction control light (usually after making a left hand turn. ) when this first started the vehicle was still under warranty, and went to Jeep. They had our Liberty for several days and swapped out the cam and crankshaft sensors to "fix" this problem. The car again was acting up within a month or so, and when we called the dealer back to bring it back in they advised us that the extended warranty that we paid a lot of money for was now expired. I took it to a local auto parts store to have the codes read. It was again code c121c, in conjunction with the codes relating to faulty cam and crankshaft sensors. Since the service department stated that they replaced the cam and crankshaft sensors. I replaced the needed parts and this lasted maybe 20 miles, prior to the lights coming back on. I attempted to replace them a second time thinking I may have gotten a defective part or two, but it wound up being the same end result; about 10-20 miles in the check engine light and traction control lights came on. This prevented the vehicle from shifting into over drive, it prevents the vehicle from accelerating at a normal speed, and above 50 mph the whole vehicle will wildly shutter when you let your foot off the gas. Jeep will not warranty the drive terrain even though the state the vehicle should have a 100k mile warranty on the drive terrain.

August 1, 2015 the left rear passenger window dropped and the rear of the vehicle. In the same month my Jeep started to slightly fishtail as if driving in very strong/ high winds. Lastly on November 28, 2015 the passenger air bag sign is showing " passenger airbag off" when it was never a illuminated before.

Nothing major yet. . There is a problem with the tipm,my Jeep just went over 50,000 miles and now I have this that is out of warrenty. Because this problem is out there and no recall for this defect and am going to be forced in trading in,I do not feel safe with all the sudden issues. Chrysler ignoring this problem,I will not by another Chrysler product. I have my grandchildren ride with me often and I am concerned. Thank-you.
Electrical icons continue to appear on dashboard like traction, abs, service engine soon, gauge for rpm is 0 mp, engine gauge remain at engine speed. When taken to Jeep dealership for repair I was told there was nothing wrong with the Jeep it is running correctly. And yet the Jeep cut completely down for 10 mins on the expressway. When on the street all icons come on and I have to pull over because Jeep has shut down.
1, all lights come on dash; check engine, 4wd, brake, abs - all of them, each time I have it checked but the codes will not register stating not found 2. Roof leaks at back of cargo area with heavy rain or when vehicle gets washed 3,when adding fuel, doesnt automatically stop and gas spews out all over 4. Locks will randomly lock and unlock. 5. Radio will stop and start.
I had just picked my 5 year old daughter up from school and we was on our way home; we went to turn the corner and it felt like that back of my Jeep was falling off. I lost control and went off the road a bit. Regained control and got the vehicle stopped. Shortly after I got ahold of my step dad and we managed to get the Jeep to the dealership and come to find out my rear control arms broke. Out of nowhere I had no warning or anything I know there is usually some sort of warning when the control arms are about to break.
Esp bas abs lights keeping coming on and pulling to one side occasionally for unknown reason while lights are on. Numerous reports of the same problem on the internet from other 2006 Jeep Liberty owners.
Last February my Jeep started acting funny. The horn, wipers, fluid, raido, seat, and lights all went crazy while driving. Thinking that it was a battery or spark plug issue I replaced both. No luck. The next day I stated my car abs the horn would not shut off. I disconnected the battery and had it towed for diagnosis. Tipm good I was told. 2 days later same thing. I brought my vehicle to another mechanic but this time asked to see the schematics. There is only one common component the tipm. No engine issues found, tipm tested for a week, no results. Got my car back and one week later recorded the car doing exactly what I had stated. This system only has 1 check with results either good or bad. I looked up recalls-none, called Jeep and complained about how dangerous this is. I'm not incredibly tall so for my seat to move itself backwards while driving was scarey! I ended up going to a Jeep dealership convinced this was the issue and had the box replaced and system reset. One yr later still no issues. I still have the videos as proof of this claim. Please realize all times this happened with the exception of the horn going off, battery disconnected, I was driving on the hwy going into street traffic. Only once was the weather incredibly bad; raining to the point of flooding. Because I live in upstate NY there was also snow and ice present. Due to my vehicle acting up, I chose not to take my niece's over the weekend as I typically did. Being responsible I couldn't let something happen with a then 4 year old in my car.
Whenever the steering wheel moves between the 1 and 2' o clock direction the esp/bas light comes on and cannot be turned off without shutting off the engine. It has happened while parked and in motion at low speeds. I took it into my local dealer for a diagnostic and it was reported to be a faulty steering sensor/clockspring. Which controls the esp/bas program as well as the deployment of the airbag should there be an impact. I took my Jeep in early February and the part was placed on back order because there was none available in the nationwide inventory was expected at the earliest, mid-may. The recommendation is not to drive the vehicle. I followed up in early may and that date was shifted to August. I followed up in this past week and the date has been shifted yet again to mid-September. Going on 7 plus months without my vehicle due to one part that is a safety issue and seemingly a common one looking at the other complaints filed on this site is ridiculous. I have tried getting this part through other after market places online and it can only come through Jeep/mopar part authorized supplier. This needs to be looked at or recall needs to be issued to escalated to give this problem more visibility in orde for it to be corrected.
The clock spring on this Jeep has broken and has been broken for more than two months. This has disabled the horn, abs system, cruise control, vehicle stability program and most importantly the driver's airbag. This is a known problem to Jeep and they are doing nothing about it. They just continue to say the part is on back order. This is unsafe and someone must force a mandatory immediate solution.
